  1. Welcome @brandylc. This is a great site to learn from and join in, make friends and get support. My downfall was wine, I used to love one glass every night (more at the weekends) especially with a meal. I haven't missed it at all and haven't craved it. I have to be honest and say I have found it difficult not drinking fluids with a meal. I think thats a habit I have had forever but it is getting easier. Kate
  2. I took 4 weeks off then went back to work full time.. to a stressful job. I wish I had stayed off six due to the exhaustion I had. ????
  3. Congratulations... Such an exciting time!!!
  4. So sorry to hear that it didn't go ahead BUT so revealed it didn't, considering the issues. You have a good surgeon there!! Good luck for your future surgery and speedy recovery
  5. What did your NUT say about what you should have the day before. You need to follow what they say, as everyone here will have been told different things by their own NUT. Congratulations on your surgery date and speedy recovery!!
  6. It’s normal to be nervous before the surgery, I think we all go through the questioning in our heads. Is this right for me? Will it be painful? How am I going to cope with so little food in the first few months? And on and on. However we all get through it and I can honestly say that it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Believe in yourself and your inner strength, you CAN do it.
  7. I did the same as Krista and used to constantly sip Protein powder mixed with about 20 oz. of Water. I used milk chocolate and it just tasted like a thinner version of a milk shake. Hydration and protein all in one! They did take me hours to drink though. Hope you feel better soon
  8. I take a full multi Vitamin (Centrum Advantage) morning and evening, Vit D morning, Vitamin C Morning and then a Calcichew with D3Forte three times a day (2 hrs apart from my Multi's) Two weeks ago I had my full bloods and they were perfect. No issues at all and I don't need the additional B12 injections or Iron I thought I may need to have. I had a copy of the results sent to me so I can see for myself lol
  9. Congratulations on the surgery date !! Best wishes for the surgery and speedy recovery
  10. My energy level has always been okay, even pre op when I was doing the liver reduction diet, I had tons of energy. Post op was very different though, it took me a good 6 weeks to feel back to 'normal'.
  11. I take Centrum Advantage and just had my first bloods done, post op. All came back great with no need for any extra iron or B12. Very pleased

  15. Maybe you need therapy in conjunction with the surgery, just to keep your head in the right place whilst your body is changing. Best of luck in your decision!
  16. Salmon is nice, with lemon.
  17. It takes such strength to have WLS and to live the life you need to keep the weight off. You're not a failure, you are strong!!

  21. I am just about to head out to buy new bra's. I was 44 DD before I started the 2 week liver reduction diet and 3 weeks ago I bought a new bra which is 40DD but now it's hanging off me both in size and cup size. I don't want to keep buying bra's every few weeks so I am going to look at the bra strap extenders .. .. Has anyone used these? Any other suggestions? How many sizes did you go down until you got to goal?
  22. I can relate to this and yes it's put a strain on our marriage. However, he does understand, doesn't LIKE it but understands and tends to give me space when I'm about to hit a bitchfest. Or if I realise it myself, I take myself off to bed for a while and watch a film or read. It's been a few weeks now but getting less and less. I think joining the gym has helped too. I really hope you feel better soon
  23. I think everyone is different when it comes to weighing and how often. I get on the scales every morning and that works for me. I certainly don't obsess over how much I have lost or put on or my stalls but it helps me focus on what I should be doing. Each to their own and what works for them
