Where's the "support"?
I agree with the OP. There is the clique here who validate the bitchyness and thats so sad. Thats the ony problem with a smaller group and I know people who have left here because of it. Its like being at school and being the class bully with all their 'friends' egging them on and agreeing or arse licking, however you want to take it. I often try to understand why people would want to do that years after leaving school. People can be very handy at being keyboard warriors, must make them feel smug. The majority of the people here are lovely though so the others are insignificant now. If you didnt feel a need to make a thread about this why didn't you take your own advice, ignore it and move on!

Any tips on drinking more liquids?
Set a timer and learn to drink more. Make it a habit and always have a bottle of Water with you. Set times in the day that you have to fill it up and plan to empty the bottle before the time. Write down what you are drinking. Be more 'mindful' about drinking fluids. Sounds harsh but dehydration after surgery means you end up back in hospital and that's no fun! Best of luck!

Day 1 of liquid diet
The pre op liver diet isn't easy but I really do believe it gets you into the right 'headspace' for surgery. Best wishes to those having surgery soon and speedy recovery.

Judged at the hospital
Totally disgusting. Feedback to the team you went with. Unless people report it, it will go unchecked. Congrats on the surgery btw

Protein shakes
I use optimum nutrition shakes and mix with water. (4ozs) I used them before surgery and still love them now.

Now comes the wait!
You have a good attitude seeing the wait as a time to reflect and prepare. You will smash it!

2 weeks Pre-op any tips or suggestions?
Congratulations to you both with regards to your surgery! I was exhausted for weeks after the surgery but was lucky that my youngest son walked the dog every day until I was four weeks out. How to get through the liver cleanse when you are tempted to cheat!! Clean your teeth Drink more water/tea/ etc. (whatever is allowed) Look at a photo you hate of yourself at your biggest and visualise being healthy and slimmer and remember why you are doing this. Get a buddy and ask for/give support Remember this too will pass! sleep more/Keep busy/Clean the house from top to bottom/Do all the laundry/prepare for surgery Research post op eating plans, educate yourself why each stage is important including the cleanse Treat yourself to a haircut/nails done Cross each day off the calendar, countdown to surgery day Get some fresh air, walk, visit family and friends. Ask for support and help, we have all been there. You CAN do it Let us all know how you are getting on

Monday's the day! 36 hrs and counting!
Good luck and speedy recovery to everyone having their surgery! I didn't drive for four weeks. I had a great recovery but didn't realise how exhausted I would be and only really started feeling more energetic on week six. Everyone is different though, so just see how you go and listen to your body and take heed to what it's telling you.

3 days after surgery (Oct 21) and so much gas!
Walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip. You don't want to end up back in hospital with dehydration. It does get easier and each day is much better than the previous one. Mix the apple juice with the same ounces of Water, don't drink it neat. You have been through a massive operation and its very early days. Give it time. You CAN do this! Hugs and congratulations!!

Missing food you like
I'm only just over 3 months out but I haven't missed anything and believe me I loved my food. I have a good variety of meals and Snacks and still have a Protein drink a day and also a protein latte first thing in the morning. You will be surprised how much your taste will change. I don't have any hunger and I go out to eat about 3 times a week with family and friends and have never felt envious of what they are eating. I am very lucky but know this might change over time. I tend to see the positive side of things and focus on what I can eat and enjoy rather what I don't. You will be fine!!

Poop (Literally, and TMI, obviously)
I had the same issues and took Dulcolax liquid then later on tablets, 3 times a week. If I missed it, I just didn't go. Now I am 13 weeks out I eat more veg and its not been an issue. Get checked out to be on the safe side and good luck!

Support after Sleeve?
Added: Please check with insurance if you are fit to drive straight after the op. I am in England so it's probably different but I wouldn't have been covered by insurance for 2 weeks. In the end I didn't drive for 5 weeks.

Support after Sleeve?
How old are your children @@bbrookmedic ? Can they help at all? Prepare meals beforehand and freeze them. Share taking the kids to/from school with another Mum. Clean the house from top to bottom/change all the beds, get the laundry sorted. Rest as much as you can after the surgery, ask the older kids to watch the younger ones. Arrange after school clubs or play dates at friends houses. Get in as much food as you can so you don't need to shop for a while. How about asking a local teenager in to help. Hope it all goes well for you!!

I made it!
