  1. You should send her a picture of some pants that you just bought and say, "I bet you wish you could wear these". I think that would be pretty funny. LOVE this !!
  2. I didn't go back to work until week 5 and it was far too soon for me. I wish I had had more time off. I was exhausted. I would get home from work, walk the dog and then crash out on the sofa for the evening. As for exercise, I joined a Gym at week 10 and I go three times a week, took it slow at first but I am okay now. Plus I am walking the dog for longer, up and down the English countryside. Best exercise ever. Congrats on the surgery!!
  3. Congratulations on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am 3 1/2 months out so not going through the same motions that you are right now I am down 80lbs and have 18 to go to goal. I have a feeling that will take a while to lose and I am okay with that!
  4. I had cottage cheese (low fat), Greek yogurt (Total Farg which is high in protein), fish and chicken, thicker Soups pureed, as well as keeping to the full liquids for a while and introducing a new food slowly. I tended to stick to what worked for me, for a number of days. I chose high Protein foods and made sure they were pureed well. Did you get meal plans from your bariatric team? Edited to add eggs, eggs and more eggs.
  5. I had the flu shot once and never EVER again. I was so ill with the flu, having never had more than a mild cold before. We get them free at work. No thanks lol
  6. Did you not take vitamins before week 8 or am I reading your post wrong?
  7. @ We are neck and neck now lol !! You have done amazing too xxx
  8. I wasn't successful posting picture before, they came out sideways but I will try again. You just may need to turn the page/laptop etc lol! This was taken a few weeks ago when I fit into a size 14 UK - Size 10 USA which I haven't done for abut 30 years. I was 70lbs down then.... 80Lbs loss when I weighed today -- whohooooooooo
  9. Wow. Such a difference! You look great
  10. Each day will be better than the day before, hold on to that thought. You have gone through not only a huge physical event but a psychological one too. I researched this a lot before the surgery and REALLY wanted it and yet I had a wobble on day three, wondering what the hell I had done. It was only a fleeting though but still went through my head. Now nearly 4 months out I know it was the best thing I had ever done and wish I had done it years ago. You may go through a myriad of emotions over the next few weeks and months but its natural and most of us have gone through it. If you don't have anyone to chat to, come here and vent. We have all been there!! Congratulations!! Best wishes and hugs.
  11. I really enjoyed reading your post, thank you for sharing! Congratulations on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery. It sounds as if you know what you are doing and doing it well. Keep posting so we know how you are getting on and be kind to yourself. :)

  13. Hubby and I make soup at home, just basic ones like tomato, chicken and butternut squash and I freeze it in meal sized containers. Then if he fancies something I don't, I can have soup. I tend to have a lot of soup over the winter so its all okay by me
  14. @@citygirl1962 From a company called MyProtein (UK based).
  15. I can't even start to think how you are feeling. Prayers sent your way xxx
  16. 1. Min 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after. 2. No. 3. None
  17. Congratulations and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  18. MyProtein latte in 24oz of water. Love it!!
  19. I was exhausted until week 6. Some people go back to work a few days after the op, it was enough for me to open my eyes and then I needed another nap lol. Just take it easy and listen to your body and you will be fine

    Wow.... Congratulations!! Great job
  21. @Nomlktoday I visit National Trust Homes or English Heritage places most weekends and usually have the soup. Its really filling and makes me feel as if I have had a 'treat' as I have eaten out, rather than had soup at home. Its all about reprogramming your mind to what you want. Not easy BUT if I can do it, believe me anyone can! If you ever want to chat please feel free to message me.
  22. I have continued to take chewables (I don't chew them, I just let them melt in my mouth). At 3 months I decided to try tablets and threw up each time I tried. Never again!!
  23. There are lots of reasons why you might 'gain'. Have you pooped daily? Did you eat stuff with lots of sodium yesterday? Did you keep track of everything you ate? Put the scales away for a week, keep to the plan, drink lots of Water, keep to Protein first, low carbs and weigh yourself in a week. It's annoying when you gain but honestly as long as you are sticking to the plan, it will come off! Best wishes!!
  24. I think anyone who thinks, "I have only lost 10lbs this month" needs to carry that 10lbs round with them for a day. Certainly does put it in perspective!
  25. There can be tons of anxiety around weight loss surgery for family and friends. If she is a real BFF and you to her, I am sure you will sort this out and she will be supportive and you with her issues. I admire the fact you faced this with her. It can't have been easy for either of you!
