  1. Another one here just a few pounds from goal. Last week was 4# from goal, had some surgery on Tuesday and walked out of there 12# from goal. As of today I am 6# from goal. Full of energy, looking good in size 6-8 jeans and happier than hell! Bought a new wardrobe and ready for the new world.
  2. Great new photo, Susan. What a pretty woman
  3. Congrats Juno, what pretty girl (you and your new daughter). Also, wonderful that your baby weight has been lost. Way to go!!!!!!!!
  4. Happy Band Day, Hollie. You have done so well.
  5. BozzJ, thanks for the recipe. I'm going to give it a try
  6. Does anyone have some good recipes that includes different kinds of beans? Anyone know which beans have a higher protein count?
  7. Haven't dared to try bread products or pizza crust yet. Sorry you had such a negative experience. I have been stuck once...on a deviled egg. Lasted about 6 hours and was miserable. I had hard boiled eggs many times b/4 and they went down great. I am not so willing to try them ever again. We all learn after something like that, don't we?
  8. Karey...just want to wish you luck on your second time around. I know you had a tough decision to make on what you wanted to get done. Hope your recovery is a quick one. Take care
  9. Every aspect of my life has changed. The obesity cloud has lifted. It affected everything in my life. Socially, I hid out because I felt I was being judged because of my weight. Sexually, I hid out. Life is good. I wake happy every morning and love my new self
  10. OOPS...forgot to add...I'm one of those that love my own little ass.
  11. My DH would fit into that last category today. Could do with about 185# less ASS around here today.
  12. Nope, Plain, just a straight out "You'd better not lose any more weight". I guess I am frustrated because I have heard it so much in the last two months and am feeling soooo healthy and where I want to be. I do have patience for the type of "talk" you are explaining. I am a pretty easy going person and understand that most people mean well. Are you trying to tell me, Plain, that you have a tendency to stick a foot or two in your mouth? LOL
  13. Thanks, I really try to just turn on a heel and head out of situations like this. Still gets to me sometimes. Good luck to you and wishing you a good trip down the Lapband road.
  14. Jachut...how true. Guess I never thought of the fact that I did not ever have someone push their negative thoughts on me when I was obese. Maybe behind my back but who cares. I do consider myself to be healthier than I have been for years. I work out, I make sure I get my nutrients and I truly have more energy than I did when I was 20 (33 yrs ago). I am happy for me and every day am thankful that I had enough guts to go through this. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
  15. I am a few pounds away from goal. My goal weight was discussed at the beginning of this process between my dr., myself, his team of nurses, my dietician and my husband. I am striving for a healthy weight and it's a reasonable one. I have lost count of the number of people (some are supposed friends) who think it is their responsibility to walk up to me in public and say: "You'd better not lose any more weight". Where do they get off? I just state that I am at goal (don't even want to explain I have a few more to lose) and I walk away. I have the friends that have been encouraging throughout this entire process. They are the ones that say that I have not looked more healthy and happy and are pushing for me to get to goal. Guess I just answered my own question........stick with what my friends say that have been there for me and blow the others off.
  16. CherylAnn....put your GLASSES on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely can see a huge difference. You have developed a very nice shape. Keep at it, girl. You are on your way. Congrats!
  17. I had to do the 6 mo. medically supervised diet which was required by my ins. company. I was told by my surgeon that the initial weigh in weight was what is used when paperwork was turned into ins. company. I would do the 6 mo. diet all over again, even if not required. It gave me time to wrap my head around what I was in for with the band. I was able to lose over 50lbs during that time period. I worried about feelings of deprivation after surgery if I was not prepared prior to surgery. Good luck to you with your approval and the entire process. I can honestly say that the lap band is one of the best things I have ever done and treasure the fact that I will hopefully have it with me for a lifetime.
  18. Best of luck to you. I have also had a number of surgeries and the LB was by far the easiest.
  19. Congrats V....those moments just need to be shared. For me it's even better than scale victories.
  20. Don't be fooled. LOL. The band isn't that great. I lost over 50 b/4 getting the band. I was extremely faithful to my 6 mo. pre-op diet.
  21. Thanks for sharing your story, Jachut. At the beginning of this journey, and as I watched my belly melt and sag, I was almost positive that I would need a TT. Now I am thinking that I can cover most of the flaws with finding the right fit in clothes, etc. I have had so many surgeries in the last 20 yrs that I would just as soon avoid another one if I could. I will give it all some time to see if any of the tummy skin corrects itself. I am wearing a size 8 jeans with no muffin top. I do wear tops to cover my lower tummy though. I will just give it time and will see what the future brings.
  22. I am about 10lbs from goal. My lap band surgeon insists that his patients wait at least 12 months b/4 considering plastic surgery. He believes that saggy skin might tighten up within that time period. I do have some saggy skin on the lower stomach but not too bad. I will most definitely consider a TT a year from now if my stomach is still in the shape it is now. The way I see it is; why go through everything that I have to take off this weight and have a poor body image because of the hanging tummy. I am 52 yrs old and consider myself lucky. I have come out of this weight loss with no hanging skin on my arms or anywhere else on my body except for some on the lower tummy. Would like some feedback from others who have similar issues.
  23. I think I would go to my dr. A.S.A.P. It sounds like you are either too tight or you have another problem going on. Hope you get it figured out soon, Sue. Take care
  24. Thanks for the tip, Kat. I will have to look for that brand. I am also a coffee lover. I am hooked on a Texas pecan flavor. No creamer. I have always wished that a non-calorie creamer was available. Anyone know of one?
