  3. hello all i m glad im not alone this the fast weight loss thing i was banded on 12/12/07 and i have lost 44 pounds already. i feel great cant notice much yet except my pant are a little easier getting on. you know how some are you buy clothes and you wear them regardless of whether you have to do a pants dance to get them on. lmao great job everyone on the weightloss.:whoo:
  4. its a struggle. i didnt have to do a pre op diet. but post op your on liquids for 2 weeks. i got headaches too from caffiene and sugar withdraw but i made it and its well worth it good luck in your journey to good heath you can do it. only drink a slim fast breakfast lunch and dinner get water and crystal light for inbetween.
  5. congrads on wanting to be banded. I know i went through the 6 months of requirements for insurance and it sucks to have to wait . But in the end its well worth it. just remember after you have it done the first 2 weeks are the hardest being on nothing but liquids. i hated that stage now im on mushies i have 3 more days of it and im starting to get sick of that as well. but its worth it ive lost a good amount of weight for my first 3 1/2 weeks mostly water weight but hey its pounds off. good luck in your journey any questions just ask im sure all your questions fears and concerns are answered some where on this forum!
  6. i dunno maybe im crazy or something. i left hospital when i was banded went to get my paycheck went cashed it went shopping to finish for christmas and went home. i felt great. had no problems at home except for the shoulder pain i got on my 5th day post op but other than that i felt great. about 1 1/2 weeks post op i started aerobics. and now im 3 weeks post op and still feel great. maybe im from another planet to be able to take pain and surgeries so well. they say aliens live among us i must be one.!! lol:wacko:
  7. hello yes your thoughts of this surgery and so forth are normal. i have been over weight all my life to. but i just took that risk i have been banded for three weeks now and i feel great. you can do it. chin up get a positive attitude. just say to your self every day you look in a mirror and say i can do it. think of how much healthier and how much energy you will have once the weight comes off. you will not die during surgery your doctor will make sure of that. thats why you have to do some of the requirements before surgery. to make sure youll go through the surgery alright. you doctor wouldnt let you go through it if he thought there was a risk to your life . its ok to have fears about things. but i would take that risk it is worth it. and yes i often thought of whether or not my attitude would change after the weight loss maybe it will. but you are who you are skinny or fat. but i feel so much better since doing it. youll love it.
  8. hello my name is shelly i too have felt some of the things you have. but i took the risk anyway and had it done and i feel better about myself. I dont think its more that i feel scared of being thin though I feel scared of mentally being different towards people i love after i lose the weight. I mean i fell in love with my fiance being heavy is that gonna change when i lose the weight, will i see a new horizon of opportunies out there, one never knows . I got this surgery cause of heath issues, but mentally being picked on all my life because of my weight and not fitting in anywhere to losing all the weight and fitting into society. One will never know just take one day at a time. everyone is different and thinks different. you do what your heart tells you and you will go down the path god choses you to. i hope this helped ! :nervous
  9. i to have the same insurance and yes i needed 6 month medically supervised diet. plus what ever else the doctor wants you to have done. but no 2 year monitoring and they just wanted a 5 year diet history
  10. hi kay kay it depends on what kind of insurance you have. mine took six months. cause of all the requirements i needed before they would approve me.
  11. hello and welcome my name is shelly i was just recently banded on 12/12/07. I just love it. it reteaches you how to eat once your banded. at times it gets frustrating but youll make it. all your questions can be answered here somewhere just search for the question you have. this site is such a support. have fun and welcome:whoo:
  12. hi!!!! this is quite normal until your first fill then u will feel a little more restricted. as long as you just eat a cup a food at each setting your doing fine gl.
  13. :thinkok this sucks its chrismas i ate my good mushies was cleaning up and a bowl broke i nearly cut my7 first three fingers off thats how deep unbelievable. now i can barely move em they hurt so bad
  14. congratulations. youll love it. i was lucky though i for my pre op diet i was allowed 1 protien shake in the am and i could eat lunch and dinner! good luck in your journey to be fit!:whoo:
  15. hello twilight! I am from kittanning, pennsylvania. i was banded on 12/12/07 and i love it hope your journey does you well. merry christmas!
  16. i think you need to do what your heart tells you! but i did it and love it
  17. i dont think 38 is low isnt a normal bmi around 29
  18. my post op didnt say anything about returning doing exercise. I waited until majority of pain was gone and i started a low impact cardio aerobics at home and i have no problem. but everyone is different you have to work and do things at your own pace. what ever makes you feel comfortable i guess.:whoo:
  19. i dont see why it shouldnt depends on your insurance company. What i did is i called the insurance before i went to the doctor to see if they cover it if it was medically necessary cause i felt why go through all that work if they are just gonna deny it. but remember make sure all paperwork necessary is sent in to get your approval even if you think they probably wont need it send it anyway.youll make it and youll love it gl in your journey of becoming a bandster!
  20. nothing wrong i see except the bread. lol remember chew chew chew chew and puree it if your in that phase of diet
  21. i dont think communion would hurt one bit just chew it up until its all soft enough to eat
  22. i am not sure i think after the areas are completly healed over and there is no scabbing left i on the other hand have staples and i cant take a bath until i get my staples out.
  23. hang in there if the nausea dont stop you might have to call dr to get you some phenergan to stop the nausea cause thats probably why you cant keep the water down. if doctor is closed go to er they will give you some phenergan. chin up after you get thru this things will look up!
  24. dont worry this is normal your doctor probably put a 10 cc band or a 14 cc band on you but. just keep to the post op diet. it was hard for me to about day number 9 on liquids i was starving beyond belief now im on stage 2 pureed/mushy stage and now that i can eat i feel so much better. im lucky to eat a 1/2 cup but it still feel good to chew things. youll make it i havent hit eating totally solids yet. and once your able to get a fill in you feel restriction to where you feel full. but just hang in there things will work out.
  25. dont give up youll get it mine denied me too until my pcp wrote a letter of recommendation. that usually does the trick with insurance companies. to have a your pcp and surgeon both write a letter of recommendation. good luck youll get it.
