No one is 100% perfect. Personally, I've been doing my VSG journey my own way and don't plan on looking back!

Sleeved on 4/30/15. Didn't feel back to normal for at least 4-6 weeks.

As a fellow physician, I'd want to know about how many procedures they've completed and their complication rate!

I'm also a fan of the Dannon Light and Fit, the Greek variety kind. Has 80 calories and if I remember correctly, 8 or 9 carbs. The caramel macchiato is pretty tasty.

Something that has really come to light for me during this pre op prep is how much food has ruled my life to this point...during Breakfast thinking about what to have for lunch and dinner, while running errands thinking about what I'm going to eat when I get home, during a stressful day imagining what I'll eat to relax with afterward, what Snacks I need to properly enjoy a sporting event on TV or what to order at the movies.
None of these instances was I looking at food as fuel but as a "friend". Now, having made it to day 6 of prep, I find I can do all of these things without needing my "friend". That may be the biggest "get" of this entire process!!

Yes. I know it's hard, but try to stay positive! You should notice a difference in the next two days or so.

I told my significant other and that's it. My friends and family think the near 40lb weight loss is due to a strict diet and exercise....which is technically the truth

Hey guys!!! So I've been debating on this post for weeks now and I'm finally just going to do it. I've seen a lot of "attackers" on this site and have become extremely sick of reading their comments. I started out at 398 on June 1. On June 24th I had VSG surgery and was 370. Today (July 17) I am down to 353. I have followed the eating plan to a T and have been walking 2-3 miles a day since 3 days post op. No complications at all, one dumping incidident and I hate cottage cheese now but used to love it. Anyways my point of this post is to express my frustration with those who say "you need to follow this diet to a T for the rest of your life. Don't cheat, don't eat more than you should, keep your sugar low or non existent and make sure your carbs and sodium remain small. I didn't put my body through surgery to be on a DIET for the rest of my life. I will obviously continue to eat Protein first and then veggies and then fruit for the majority of my week but if I want to eat something a little less healthy when I'm cleared for all foods, I will do as I please. I'm sick of others sitting there telling others who feel the same that they are ruining their chance at success, that they followed the rules and still do and they reached goal blah blah blah. Stop goal shaming others, you were once a fat mess like the rest of us so it doesnt make you any better. I really love coming here to get advice and support but I'm about ready to quit this site and never look back do to some of these snarky high horse commenters.

Sounds like you ate too fast...causing a spasm. There's an app called 20 minutes that I use. Essentially you eat on a timed basis

I started walking after surgery. It's nothing special, but my boyfriend and my two Pekingnese puppies walk 5-7 days a week, about 45 minutes at a time. I'm not sure if it adds very much to my weight loss, but it's nice to all do something together!
