Way to go. Looks like you hit the 3 week stall. but you seem to be taking it in stride.
Also, congrats on the tracking! That has been a key to my success. The surgery is a fantastic tool, but the exercise and using MFP EVERYDAY, that is ALL YOU! Get into the good habits now and it will make succeeding in the long run so much easier.

A month & a half and losing 40 lbs?! This surgery is life changing! I know it's just a tool & I have to stay on to of my food & exercise, but I am so motivated...and grateful! Best decision ever.

Thanks for the information... As I was reading your post I called my BF and told him we are not rescheduling! The room we are staying in had a full kitchen so I will be able to keep
The yogurts on hand. I will definitely be checking the surrounding areas now that you mentioned the online menus! THANKS FOR THE GREAT ADVICE ????????????????????

Oh yes, just be careful it isn't too tight at first. I highly recommend it. That was the only way I could make it through the day at work for several weeks after surgery. Also really helped getting up and down out of bed.

This may seem like a small thing, but I just bought a full length mirror! I didn't realize how much I avoided them in the past. Now I am buying new clothes but had no idea how I looked finally dressed each morning so a full length mirror was needed. Now I just have to get used to seeing myself in it. Sometimes I think "wow, so thin!" other times "wow, I am still so fat". It's kinda weird actually. I didn't think I would have body dis-morphia but maybe I do after all...

LOL, Ok, I wouldn't normally do this, but I want to update my number on the thread. I made my goal 1 day past the last check in day yesterday. 1 DAY! Hahaha....
My goal was 163. I was 162.8 this morning.
Sarah, you don't have to change the spreadsheet. I just wanted to write it down somewhere. After all the struggles I had with stalls these last few weeks to see the drop happen 1 day past the check-in deadline just made me roll my eyes.
    On to the next challenge!

MzB reacted to lauraellen80 in What is your barometer for reaching goal ? May have found mine........
I used to have a pair of "goal" pants that fit me for a brief moment at the beginning of my sophomore year of college. Nothing special, just ones that I really liked from Old Navy. I almost made it in them after doing Weight Watchers about 8 years ago, but then I gained the weight back, and then a lot more. I held onto them until about a year and a half ago, when I had kinda given up and figured that it was pointless to hold onto them, that there was no way I'd ever fit into them again. I'm still kicking myself that I got rid of them! Of course, they'd be too big on me now.
Now my clothing motivation for maintenance is--of all things--a British Army women's Auxiliary Territorial Service uniform from 1942. My husband and I recently started doing WWII reenacting (yes, we're nerds!), and I'm able to fit into an original issue uniform for my portrayal. Obviously it's not something you can just pick up in any size at your local Target, so I have to stay small enough to wear it!

Go slow, I know there is a real feeling of seeing what you can tolerate early. I know everyone's plan is different, and that some people tolerate things better than others. However, you only get one chance to heal right. No reason to rush it and even chance that something may not go right. If your not supposed to be on soft foods yet, don't test it... Stick with the basics and the first few weeks of restrictions will be past.
My other suggestion was to maybe try some yogurts.

Before my surgery I was 439 and then I went on liquid 2 week diet dropped to 419...So I had my surgery on Dec 31st and was at 419.. Then I was down to 398.. And now I've stalled for 3 weeks now. I've also had a hard time pooping. So I take a daily Fiber powder in my Water.. I check today and I've gained just about 3 lbs. my doc says don't worry it's normal.. I walk about 5 miles a day for exercise through out the day.. I drink about 70 oz of water.. Nothing else. I eat about 800 to 1100 calories as I was told. The only thing I can't eat until next week is white breads and Pasta.. And nuts.
Sigh okay done crying. I know I know it happens.. I've read tons of posts here.
    So.. Okay. I'm done.

    Just need to vent.
It lost 83 pounds in 5 months. And this is fantastic and the surgery is the best thing I've ever done.
    However.
I'm at pret a manger. And there are people eating these amazing salads and sandwiches and I sit here with my little quinoa egg cup (which I can't even finish) and I feel sorry for myself. Why can't I just be like everyone else?
I want a nice big lunch!!
I needed to complain and didn't know where else to go.
    Thanks

    So, my surgery was today!!
Everything went smoothly and no complications.
My mouth feels dry like the desert and although I don't have any shoulder gas pain I am belching like a guy in a bar downing a few beers.

Overall it's been wonderful and I did have a quick flash of "should I do this?"
    But that thought passed quickly!

So now I'm walking the halls and feeling no pain, just a little sore.

Anyone else run the gauntlet with me today???

MzB reacted to NewSetOfCurves in NSV: Wearing a Bikini with NO Coverup! FINALLY!
Last summer I was able to wear 2 piece, but with a coverup. I was still conscious of my tummy and thighs. But after recovering from plastics and working HARD in the gym 5-6 days a week, I can officially say that I will be hitting the beach this spring without a coverup. When I put on my 2 piece and saw my pic, I think I cried and cried for a good 10 minutes. Cried for my experience as an obese person, cried for the struggles of life post-op, cried because I WORKED HARD for this dang it, and I have finally arrived. People...I have FINALLY arrived!
Sorry for the crappy picture! My husband "cleaned it" with something that was not Windex...and I have yet to purchase a full length mirror! Isn't crazy how our past obesity still rules us even after we've shed the weight. Ugh! I am going to go and buy a full length mirror today!
