    Question for the 100+lb losers

I'm in one right now, ugh. I have lost 140 lbs this year so I can't complain too much, lol. In the past, upping Protein and Water - and cutting carbs has worked for me Hopefully it will work this time too. Good luck!
  2. I am 11 months out, 140 pounds down. I freeze all of the time. We have an infrared heater that I drag with me around the house to whatever room I am in and I keep it facing me if I sit on the couch. It's a complete 180 because before surgery, I loved a cool house - now I can't stand it. I burn my husband and son up, but I am just so cold!

Which Food Did (Or Will) You Miss the Most?

I miss pizza! I'm too scared to eat the crust, but I have "skinned" the toppings off of a slice, which was okay - but just not the same
  4. Banana Republic, The Limited and I love the items on the ModCloth website! :)

    What Is Your Biggest Fear?

I am pre-op (surgery on Thursday) and right now I am so scared of the general anethesia during the surgery, I am almost in tears when I sit and dwell on it. I've had a C-Section, but it's not the same. I have every faith in the fact I'll be fine after surgery, it's just the getting there that's the hard part for me. I really hope that there will be some anxiety help for me on Thursday and I'm scared of looking like an irrational drama queen, but I just can't help it. :/ My main fears for after are regain and loose skin.

What can I do with...Brussels Sprouts?

I had them in a restaurant sauteed with a small amount of blue cheese and bacon. Probably not WLS friendly, but it was to die for good. Hopefully I can think of a good substitution/cheat for this in the future!

How long does it take to fall in love?

Puppy love/ Lust - instantly (just like I did for my husband, lol. It was the thunderbolt!) Real true love takes getting to know someone for who they really are. I am still falling in love with my husband even more all the time and we're going on 13 years this year! He still surprises me and shows me what a good man he is constantly.

    Feb 25th ....I'm soooo nervous!
  9. Star Talk with Neil Degrasse Tyson is awesome. I also love What Say You by Sal and Q from Impractical Jokers
  10. Netflix - I just watched a mini-series called North and South this weekend. It's a Jane Austen-like story about England in the Industrial Revolution but also a GREAT love story. I could not stop watching it. The lead guy is the same guy that plays Thorin in the Hobbit movies and he is hot, hot hot in this!! Very smoldering and intense On that same note, they have also added the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice, which is one of my favorite movies- I watch whenever I see it's on. On the not-historical-drama/romance side, I tried out Jane the Virgn and it's great! Quite funny and tongue in cheek. Oh, I also like watching New Girl re-runs just because I love the show.

The time will fly me! Trust me!! I am now 4 months out and this was the best decision of my life. I have to say I was never nervous. The pain was not what I expected

! I would do it all over again in a heart beat! Best of Luck.

    Anyone's first surgery?

I am now scheduled for Feb 25. I am very excited, but terrified at the same time. This will be my second surgery (C-Section in 2004), but my first time going under. I hope that I can keep calm and trust the doctors as they have dealt with bariatric patients many times (my hospital is a Center of Excellence for WLS) - it's the fear of the unknown that just freaks me out...

Who do you want to be after?

I am just going for my first meeting with my surgeon this Friday, but I already have a "Likes" list made up on ModCloth. Their clothes are so cute and feminine. I have to dress like, what I feel, an old lady might wear (I'm 37) right now because choices are extremely limited to me. I love the look with leggings and boots too! I would like to get into makeup more also, this is sad, but right now, I just feel ridiculous "dolling up" because I won't look good not matter what I do. Gaining more confidence will definitely be welcome
  15. Hi Everyone! I am scheduled to have my consultation with the surgeon next Friday and was told by the person who made the appointment that it usually runs about two hours. Can anyone let me know what generally happens during this visit besides discussing surgery options with the doctor? Is it blood-work and history-taking? I hate I didn't think to ask the lady when I had her on the phone, lol! Any info is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!
