  1. i was down 3 lbs-- scheduled my EGD for next month-- crazy!! I have only heard one insurance company deny for a net gain, but I believe they list this info in the policy.
  2. Any word from insurance? That really sucks! I hope you get approval soon!!!
  3. My surgeon doesn't have any weight loss goals! He has habit goals each month! I love him!! I gained the first two months but lost last month and I think I am down today-- headed for 4th weigh in in a few minutes. My insurance doesn't have any requirement on losing weight during he six months. Did you read the policy? You might want to get a copy to ensure you have all requirements! You could call them too! ????
  4. I have had every appointment with my surgeon directly- I know it varies by practice-- if you are uncomfortable with both surgeons I would suggest shopping around- you will be spending a lot of time with the practice On Your road to health- you should be able to communicate them and feel comfortable!
  5. I was going to suggest soup with mushy veggies and meat?
  6. I have one child- he is 3 1/2. I spoke to my surgeon at the first appointment about pregnancy after gastric bypass because I want to have 1-2 more kiddos. I am 34 so I have a little time to wait... ???? I plan to wait 2 years after surgery to give my body time to heL and to make my new way of eating a habit/more automatic. I gained 90lbs the first time I got pregnant. I am not going to repeat that! Also it might be easier for you to get pregnant at a healthy weight!
  7. You look fantastic!!! ????????
  8. I had Mirena IUD for a year after my son was born in 2011- I had it removed because I hated it-- I am currently just tracking, but I haven't had sex with my husband in a while-- 6 months? Maybe-- I plan to use the Nuvaring after surgery to make sure I don't get pregnant. I don't really like hormones but will use them to keep from getting pregnant at least year after surgery! I want time to get to goal and heal before trying to have baby #2!
  9. You might find you have more of a social life without drinking after surgery! After getting healthier your self esteem should improve and with time your confidence-- you can dance and go to clubs without getting smashed or drinking at all. You can meet guys without being drunk too! ???? you can also offer to be the DD so you have a reason to stay sober, have fun with friends and help your group stay safe! No judgement here because I had quite a "party stage" in my mid- twenties. You won't want to do that for ever tho- it does get old- I promise! ???? I think it is great you are working to improve your health now instead of in ten years (like me!) are you still drinking now during you 6 months? Maybe try going out with less drinks or none now? My surgeon did make a big point of being careful with alcohol after surgery because it is more likely you will become dependent on it-- alcoholism runs in my family so I stopped complete at the start of this six months-- (2 left for me) I had a drink maybe once a month before-- Good luck whatever you decide!
  10. I live in Ann Arbor- I am a nurse at St. Joes. ???? My surgeon is Dr. Weiner in Commerce TWP- he runs Michigan Weight Management Institute. He performs surgery at Huron Valley Sinai. It is a bit far but I love Dr. Weiner and his nutrition philosophy after surgery- veggies first, whole foods. I have three more months of my supervised diet left.... I seems to be going fast now. ????
  11. I have my second weigh in at the surgeons office today. I am nervous because I know I am up like 5lbs maybe more? I have increased edema in my legs from working the last three nights and should get my period this week which for always equals a gain! Also I haven't really tired to loose weight this past month, I was adding more veggies in as recommended by my surgeon but I have a long way to go on that one! Tell me about your gains! What did your surgeon say? Did it slow down your progress? ????????????????????
  12. Hunger!! Sorry my autocorrect is out of control and I missed that! I have corrected the post now! Congrats on finishing the psych evaluation! ????????
  13. Good luck!! I wish you an uneventful surgery!! What an exciting day!!
  14. I look forward to reading about your progress!! ????????????
  15. I was worried it would be "hard" to pass! I have no idea why! I chose a psychologist that has had bariatric surgery so hat might have helped! I really enjoyed talking to her-- she also gave me some tips that helped her when she had head hunger after surgery. She also has a free support group once a month that I am going to start going to-- the hospital group only allows post op patients! One more thing done on my to do list!! Yeah!!
  16. Awesome! I am jealous! I have to do a 6 month supervised "diet" with my surgeon first--- 5 more months until we can request for approval!
  17. Congrats! What is your loss total so far? ????
  18. Any updates? Did you get your sleep study? I hope things are moving for you!
  19. I would love more fitbit friends! tracy.m.gregory@gmail.com feel free to add me. ????
  20. Could you blend your chewable Vitamin in your Protein drink? My surgeon recommends this-- I am pre-op tho! I am night shift nurse and already thinking I might a little longer than most people- 3 weeks or more? Does your manager know about the surgery? Perhaps you could go back with restrictions? Or shortened hours for now? Can you take longer off work? I don't know you $$ situation so that might not be possible.
  21. I love seeing Dr. Weiner's videos. He is close to me so I became a pre-op patient with his practice! His website is very informative!
