  1. My surgery is on 9/29- RNY My surgeon requires 2 nights minimum in hospital. I am nurse with a very physically demanding job- 12 hour overnight shifts with little time to drink or even pee! I am planning on taking 6 weeks off because I can-- I want to have time to focus on healing and getting diet on track before the busy everyday life starts back up! I have three weeks PTO/extended illness time, I can get STD after the 30 day waiting period.. I also have a lot of training I can do at ill pay at home to make up for the 4th week with out any pay. My sister had sleeve surgery 4 months ago- she took off 4 weeks and wished she had a little longer- she was tired when she went back. She is a nurse on the floor as well! I think it depends on your job, eh?!
  2. Yeah! I am so happy for you!! ????????????????????
  3. My surgeon mentioned chicken last too (he says no to red meat for three months) He suggest dark meat when I try to it because it seems a bit easier to add it-- maybe adding it to Soup next time In small pieces? I am sorry you had a set back! You will be back on the advancing track in no time!
  4. My surgeon said whichever brand I prefer as long as they meet these guidelines! The ones I selected are separate so a little pricey, but I like that they all melt! I need more vit. D and vit. B's because my levels are low pre-op!
  5. I haven't either! At least with mine, they melt quick! It doesn't seem like a hassle so far- I took one pill and one inhaler prior before planning on surgery-
  6. My surgeon said no to children's chewable vitamins- I have just started my Vitamins (surgery 9/29) Am- 1 multivitamin (no iron) 1 Biotin 5000mcg 1 D3 5000iu (I have low vit. D pre-op) 2 calcium citrate + (500mg per tab) Lunch- 2 iron+vit. C (18mg/ 30mg -per tab) 1 b-12 plus (low Vit. B's pre-op) PM 1 multivitamin 2 calcium citrate Depending on my labs I might be able to drop the additions D3, and possibly b-12plus My starting cost of this line was pricey- $80 after discount on Amazon- brand is Barimelts- I like that they melt in your mouth- no need to chew! ???? It was cheaper than some of the other brand lines I saw on Amazon-
  7. What does your surgeons pre-op diet say? I have noticed a lot differences in diets... I can have caffeine, coffee or tea but no creamer. I do mix some of my Protein shake with it like a creamer. ????
  8. Yeah! Brooke how exciting! Hoping for a quick procedure for you!!
  9. How are all you have had surgery already?? I hope all is going well!! Any tips for us remaining in September? #6moredays #countdownto29th
  10. Yeah!!!! My pre-op appointment is this afternoon.... 11 days until surgery! It is getting close!!!! ????????????
  11. awesome! Your off to a fabulous start!
  12. how has your surgery gone? I hope your recovery is smooth! Are you still in the hospital? ???????? I like the muscle milk pro right now too! Yum!!
  13. Congrats on everyone who has had their surgery already!! I am happy to read about your progress!! I still have 16 days to go for surgery-- I am on my pre-op liquid diet now tho.. It seems so far away! ????????

  15. You are having fantastic results!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
  16. Eek! 20 more days until my surgery! How is everyone doing with the pre-op diet? I am starting today instead of Friday! I want to get the food funerals under control! ????????
  17. Good luck in the morning!! ❤️❤️
  18. Have you called them? You should call and make sure they have everything they need to process and how long it usually takes for review. ????
  19. 2 Days, but they mailed out the approval instead of calling so I didn't know until the 5th day!
  20. Now we are surgery buddies! My surgery is 9/29 also... I so impatient! I hope these last few weeks fly by!! Ugh!! ????????
  21. Just talked with HR to start the leave/FMLA process... Fun!! How long is everyone planning on taking off? I am planning on 4 weeks, but might take longer depending on how I feel. I am a nurse and my 12 hour night shifts are hard! I do a lot of lifting, pulling, standing, walking. Also no time to drink Water or pee for extended times... ???????? One more question- what is everyone telling people? Are you open about the surgery or not? I don't want to tell many people. So far my husband, sister (who had a sleeve done 3 months ago), my dad and possibly my brother if he heard from my mom. I didn't tell him directly. I don't want to discuss it at work at all- I am concerned about judgements.. ???????? I don't know what I will do if people start asking me about what surgery or why I am becoming super skinny! ????????
  22. Oops! I have been chatting with Manji2013 so I forget ask on this thread! ????
  23. I have my approval!! It was way easier than I anticipated! It was approved on 8/24, but just relieved the letter in the mail today!! ???????????????????????????? Super excited and a little nervous!!
  24. so exciting!!???????? How are feeling? Besides hungry and tired that is!! I hope the passes quickly until tomorrow morning!
