Toothache / Ibuprofen
My surgeon said I could 200-400 once in a while for headache. No prolonged use- if more than a day at a time kind of thing- I would talk to your surgeon. Everyone is different.

Surgery in September
Today is my second night in the hospital-- I am so surprised I have almost no pain! I ha r no problem getting my laps in and getting up for the bathroom--- The feeling of gas/bloating is bothering me- I can't seem to get it moving along! I am still on IV fluids and haven't got close to the 40oz goal they want for me... They say I can be discharged before than, but that seems crazy!!

Surgeon Fees...and various fees not covered by insurance
My copy for monthly visits to my surgeon are $50. Not all insurances have coverage for obesity (except surgical treatment) so I know some who pay this part themselves. (The charges for these monthly visits at my surgeon's office are $167) I paid $200 for the scope ( around $2000). I have had to pay about 250 to meet my 750 deductible during the process. On surgery day i have no copay, but I am responsible for 10% (coinsurance) I believe it will be around 2,000 for hospital/ surgeon fees and around 500 for anesthesia. The total charges for gastric bypass are about 31,000 so not to bad. ???????? I am not sure of my max out of pocket so I might not have to pay all of my 10%- I need to get on my plan documents to double check!

What are some good ways to mix protein ...minus milk
I really like the fair life milk- it had 19g of Protein in 8oz (I think, not looking at the bottle) I can make a smaller drink with lots of protein. Non-dairy I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. This is yummy, but no added bonus of extra protein!

Fear leading up to surgery
My surgery is tomorrow-- It's weird, but I am not really scared or nervous. I feel like I should be more nervous- maybe tomorrow on the way to the hospital? My husband on the other had is a basket case. He think everything that can go wrong During and after surgery will!

I can't believe it...he doesn't really care!
Yes, my husband has also said a few times he was worried I would get skinny and leave him. I think surgery makes them insecure....

I can't believe it...he doesn't really care!
My husband is afraid, but he taking the opposite route and grilling me on the surgery: how, why, what ifs. I think he has come to terms with the fact that I am not changing my mind. He came to my pre-op class but was very late. I appreciated his effort. I hope your husband comes around. Maybe try and open a dialogue about concerns of the surgery?

Period?
I really hope that doesn't happen for me.... That would make recovery pretty sucky!

Period?
OMG a Reese's PB cup would be amazing right now! ????????

Period?
Forgive me if this is a silly question.... My surgery is on Tuesday (9/29) and just started my period today. This got me thinking every month right before I get cravings for salty and chocolate things... How do you handle this after surgery? Does this still happen? I suppose I can handle the salt craving but chocolate probably won't work for a while if ever!

What did you do to get out of work for surgery? What did you tell work?
FMLA for my time off, I will use PTO and extended Illness time for three weeks than STD.
-
Not telling people at work...
I only told HR I was having surgery. The paper listed surgery specialty so she might have guessed but she can't tell. I told my boss I would be on FMLA for 4-6 weeks. I didn't elaborate and he can't ask. I told no one else I would be out... When I get back if they ask I will tell-- I didn't want to have to explain or deal with negativity....

How long in hospital and off work?
You can't take FMLA?
