Rizzle01 got a reaction from lamulatona in Flying 4 weeks after surgery
I flew right before and after my first couple of fills. To be honest I never even thought of consulting my Doctor. I have to be able to fly for work at any given time. I had zero issues. The hardest part about flying was finding half way descent food at the airports lol.

This was me, about 8 years ago? Surgery was 5 years ago. Diabetic, one heart attack. (for starters) You can see why.
This is me, a few days ago (Christmas Eve) with my new Grandkids (twins) I will be 64 in 2 weeks. 100+ Lbs down, feel 1/2 my age.....little or no health issues.
This is my favorite time of year...the parties started a few weeks ago. At least 3-4 that were work related, plus one my Wife gave for her employees and their families.
Plus it seemed as though every hospital/clinic I went to for the past 2 weeks has had some sort of in-house luncheons, etc.
Then there came Christmas eve, which is a big tradition for my family, then Christmas morning at my Daughters for a large brunch...
Back to our house for our Christmas dinner that evening.
Today we are off to my Brother-in-laws out of state for a full day...
After this, comes New Years with dinners and full days of watching College football...
I'm not so concerned about gaining weight, been here before since surgery and I know my Band and how to listen to it.....what I am concerned about is all the unhealthy things I would not normally eat, not to mention the huge spike in alcohol consumption.
I do not believe in New Years resolutions, but come Jan. 2, I am going on a 14 day PaleoCleanse to rid my body of all these toxins....
Christmas comes but once a year....and with my new life that surgery has given me, I am enjoying it more now than ever....(I probably would not be here without it)

I am currently stalled and I am trying to stay under 1400 calories a day myself. I am interested to hear what others have to say.

So I debated posting about this.. but I was in such awe over this, and I think only my fellow female WLS peeps can appreciate this. (And i'm grown, married, blah, blah, blah...).
Hubby and I were having some special time. Off he went to "lady town" (Grey's Anatomy fans should get that). And I realized... I can *see him*. My stomach was not blocking my view of him. For the slightest second it seemed awkward cause, I've just never had that full view before. It was a serious, momentary, mind trip!
    So...NSV qualified, or too risque?

Rizzle01 reacted to Babbs in I HATE exercising! What Should I do?!
You know, you don't HAVE to excerise to lose weight. It's really 90% diet. Obviously excerise has it's benefits (keeping your muscle that you will lose with the weight loss, increasing your metabolism, good for your heart etc....) but weight loss is mostly diet. How about just walking? Taking your dog on walks, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking further away to get a good walk in?

There. It's a big chunk of spaces and line breaks! You can use these to end paragraphs, begin new sentences and even change the thoughts you are trying to communicate!
But wait! There's more! Take advantage of this one time offer and I will throw in the complete set of standard English punctuation!
    , . ? ! & ( ) : " ; '
And if you order in the next 5 minutes, I will show you how to disable the CAPS LOCK KEY!
All joking aside, I realize this is a web forum and it is meant to be more casual and laid back, but if you put just a little effort into making your posts easier to read, you will not only get more replies to your threads, you will most likely get better replies as well.

I agree with the post^. I have no desire to lie about my wls but I also have asked my friends and family not to advertise it either. It seems much easier to not have to try to hide it though.

The scale that I use is a talking scale that announces my weight. I don't care for that feature but this was the only scale I could find at the time that supported my ample proportions. Over all, it works fine. But I dread the point where my weight locks in and it begins to mockingly announce my weight to the world. My house is a cookie cutter house with hollow core doors that amplify all sound. So if I am unable to step off the scale before it starts talking, there is no way to stop it once it starts talking. At that point, I just want to crawl into a hole and die. I don't know why all scales for me are talking. Do they think fat people can't read? WTF?
So a few days ago, I decided enough was enough. I took that scale apart and cut out the speaker. Now I can weigh myself without feeling like the whole world is watching. Even after I lose all this weight, I don't think I'll ever stop thinking like a fat person.

I stick with the Protein most mornings but on the weekends like to have
    1 egg over easy
I slice of Spam, or 2 slices bacon
And 1 slice toast, today raisin toast
I also did lots of research before my surgery and got into cooking methods, foods, and nutritional values, 2 of my main methods to cook are grilling, and Stir fry, I learned how to Stir fry through videos on Google and YouTube, and surprisingly found that you can manipulate many Asian recipes to be carb friendly, it was even more successful and fun when my wife got me a Wok, I've cooked some amazing meals in less time than a regular meal, my best so far was my Cashew chicken, I omitted the corn starch and sugar and it was delicious, I also use several Web sites for my cheat day, they offer gastric friendly restaurant listings and choices available, the shockers were Panda Express, and pretty much any chicken wing place, good luck

I'm not sure when in June you had your surgery, but if you're at the phase where you can eat regular food, three bites of something bad for you isn't a big deal. That probably would have made me sick too, but now you know it doesn't agree with you just yet, so you don't have a need to try it again tomorrow. The whole point of the surgery is so that at some point you can be healthy, thin, and normal, with an emphasis on normal. Some days I have a few bites of ice cream, last week I was baking a lot and I had WAY too much caramel sauce, and the other day I had some calimari. 90% of the time I eat very well, 7% of the time I eat almost whatever I want, and 3% of the time I eat like a chunky monkey, just in very small portion sizes. It is ok to sometimes have something that is bad for you. Enjoy it and then get right back on the healthy train.
