My Kickstart Diet
I gained a whole pound. In the grand scheme of things I am thrilled that that is all!

Christmas, Before and After
Keep up the good work! You are an inspiration to some people on here

How does it feel?
For me it like being able to eat half a sandwich or one taco and feeling full. You don't feel like you need to keep going just to reach the level of full you were used to.

Guy's Room - Calorie target 9 months out?
I am currently stalled and I am trying to stay under 1400 calories a day myself. I am interested to hear what others have to say.

Flying with band
I have never had any real problems flying with mine either. I have made over a half dozen flights since being banded. I don't even give it a second thought any more.

Calories at 8 Months?
I am at about 1400 calories 6 months out from getting a lap-band. I hear that may be a little high but compared to before it is like night and day

Flying 4 weeks after surgery
I flew right before and after my first couple of fills. To be honest I never even thought of consulting my Doctor. I have to be able to fly for work at any given time. I had zero issues. The hardest part about flying was finding half way descent food at the airports lol.

Upper GI tomorrow....
Ohh man the barium shakes are nasty lol. Best of luck tomorrow!

Gerd
Go purchase some Prevacid or Prilosec. It is over the counter now. Zantac is a rather weak acid reflux pill.

Presurgery and I can't decide to keep WLS public or private
I agree with the post^. I have no desire to lie about my wls but I also have asked my friends and family not to advertise it either. It seems much easier to not have to try to hide it though.

Incision points?
I have 5! They are still highly visible 5 months out.

Band slippage
That is good info to have^. I must admit I am a little paranoid about mine slipping as well.

It's amazing how my husband sees me..
You can still go out to eat lol. You will just order differently and go to different restaurants. I travel a lot for work so I eat a lot of sushi for example. I also eat eggs for breakfast almost every morning.

Do you/Did you trust your NUT/Dietitian?
My nutritionist means well but I don't think he has ever struggled with weight and he has given me some pretty inaccurate information. What he tells me and what the my doctor tells me are two rather different things. It is hard to tell when he is correct or not now. To top things off the person I was working with went on military leave a week before my surgery and has never answered my emails since then. He gave me a number of someone else I could talk to but I don't feel like starting over from ground zero with another nutritionist. I feel like I am mostly on my own.

Do you eat Yogurt? What brand? What sort of toppings do you add to it?
That strawberry cheescake one from Dannon is my favorite as well lol. I also like all the boston cream pie ones and the Strawberry Fage one.

Band slipped and it has to come out
You can't put a price on life. It sounds like she needs ot be admitted and have the suregery pronto!

Someone slap me please!
Wow some of you guys have some interesting doctors. Mine said everything was fair game after about 6 months. The key is moderation which the band allows for.

I'm so sick of water
I am very curious what the problem ingredients in G2 are purported to be. It is just a reduced calorie version of Gatorade with artificial sweeteners replacing some of the regular sugars. I don't see what the big deal is.
-
I'm so sick of water
Gatorade doesn't have carbonation^. The only reason it would be bad is the empty calories. Try G2 it is actually on my Dr. approved list of things to drink.

My Libido has Increased After Surgery!

Heartburn all of a sudden
You should probably try something stronger than Zantac. I recommend Prevacid but most people use Prilosec.

2nd fill...enough?
No, I definitely eat meat???? I would have issues if I couldn't eat meat. That is why I have my band just a little looser than some. I need to be able to get my protein down without issues.

This is gonna sound nuts, but I think I want to remove my Lapband
I have definitely had a few panic attacks thinking about the aforementioned possibilities of lap band failure etc. Have you stopped to think that your heartburn might be unrelated? I had heartburn throughout most of my twenties but didn't think too much of it because I could always take a tums or two and it would go away. One day when I was about 29 I woke up drank a cup of coffee and thought I was going to die! The heartburn was on another level and nothing helped. I thought I might be having a heart attack so I rushed to the ER. My heartbeat was something ridiculous like 173/128 and I thought my heart was going to explode! They diagnosed me with GERD, hooked me up to an IV and gave me a Prilosec. About an hour later I was ok. I think that day that my flap more or less disintegrated. I have been on prescription acid reflux medication ever since. What I am getting at is that the heartburn might be so bad that it is sending you in a tailspin which can create panic attacks. You might just need to take some Prevacid and Xanax to get back to normal but idk. Just something to think about. I hope you get to feeling better :-)

2nd fill...enough?
People seem to like their bands at different levels of tightness. For me If I couldn't keep protein down I would have serious problems. You may want to wait a full week to make a decision but it sounds to me like your band is a little tight.

Breakfast
Protein shakes have ~ 30g of protein. It is hard not to get your protein in if you drink even one of these a day. I prefer the vanilla premier protein shake from Costco. It only has 160 calories.
