Girl Scout Cookies
This is a difficult time of year, especially since the Girl scouts seem like they are everywhere. I feel like I have a sign on my forehead that says "follow me!" however, so far I have been okay and resisted. If those darn Cadbury eggs start following me, I cant make the same promises. lol

What Is Your Biggest Fear?
My fear like most is regain and not hitting my goal weight. I sometimes wake up in the morning and feel like I gained all the weight back, but I know that it's in my head.

Do you feel you still have to obsess about food?
Everyone is different and years of habits and making bad decisions don't go away overnight. There are times where I crave something that I cant have, and I literally obsess over it...or the guilt if I have eaten something bad or eaten more than I should. For me, what works is when I am at home I keep myself busy with an activity. If I am watching tv, I either have a book in my hand or am coloring from an adult coloring book. I keep my hands busy, it seems to work and I don't obsess and go into the kitchen.

Pre-Op Weight Loss
I had to lose 27lbs in prior to surgery, however my program had the diet to start off with, which is now considered the norm for me. It is your post op way of life and that seemed to help me. Also, losing the weight prior to surgery was helpful in a smooth transition to post op eating, as well as eliminating my diabetes prior to surgery. Good luck

What can I do with...string cheese?
I love eating cheese as is, I think I might have been a mouse in my prior life, however I do enjoy eating cheese wrapped in a piece of deli sliced turkey. Perfect protein packed snack

Did anyone's spouse lose attractiveness when they got close to goal?
I have gone though a similar thing with my boyfriend. Once I had the surgery, he changed on me. I am still considered bigger since I was very heavy when I started, but he didn't like the weight loss or attention I was giving to myself. He tried to purposely have me eat and drink things I couldn't, which failed on his part, and even told me about 6 month ago that I have lost enough and not going to the gym. For him, I think he thought that when I was bigger, I would just settle and not go towards my dreams, which may not include him. I am more active now and he is less active due to lifestyle change and he has several health problems that he will not help himself with. In the end, he did want counseling, but I was done and now he is my ex boyfriend. I hope you guys can talk about it. I think before the surgery my relationship was at a downfall, however it could have turned around

Cardio Machines At The Gym.
I agree, I was getting bored with them 2. I am lucky to belong to a good gym, granted its more expensive than others, however I love it because I get to the classes. I burn just as many calories going to glow aerobics where I do hip hop dancing for 50 min than I do getting on that treadmill.

If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious
The one commercial that cracks me up is farmersonly.com Not even sure its a real website, but those commercials make me giggle. I have had my experiences in dating and meeting people online. Finally found a winner after thinking of giving up. There are some good people out there, just hard to find them. I always go with " You will find something when you aren't looking"

Gastric bypass versus sleeve for the 300+
When I originally started my journey, my heart was set on getting the sleeve surgery. It wasn't until I met with the surgeon the first time that he thought I would benefit from gastric bypass. I was a full blown diabetic at the time, who had to take insulin at night as well as meds, and had high blood pressure. The surgeon mentioned that I could go with the sleeve, however if I am not happy with my progress, I would have a sleeve to bypass revision. I only wanted to go under the knife once, so I eventually decided on bypass. Its been almost 7 months since I had surgery and I cant tell you how happy I am with the results. I was almost400pds when I started, and I am now in the 200s. I still have a long way until I meet my goals, however I am no longer diabetic by medical standards, they even took it off my medical chart. I say good luck to you in whatever journey you decide. You may want to make a list pros and cons for each, and see what you come up with. You are the one in this

What's your workout routine?
I am 6 months post op and went back to the gym about the 1 month mark, when the dr said I could go back. I started doing light aqua aerobics 2-3 times a week. Once it started getting colder ( there is no way I would be getting a pool right now) I started doing glow aerobics 2-3 times a week. Its an awesome class and I love it. I also just started to increase my cardio more and add weight training ( drs orders)

Stinkin stall is pissing me off!
Your doing amazing and no need to worry. Your body is still in complete shock after having surgery, and it doesn't know what to do with itself. It is very common to get into stalls. Just keep focused on making sure you have enough Protein and add maybe walking or low impact exercise. Your body will eventually let go of the fat. Good luck

Note to self: Don't be so competitive!
I don't think its completely a testosterone thing. I am feeling the same way, I need to lose more, even though I have come so far already

Time off work
I had RNY surgery and was back at work after 1 week. I work in an office and am pretty remote. The first week I was back, I only worked half days because my energy level was low. Everyone is different, so I would see how you feel. Good luck

360+ pounds?!? help!
I personally had the RNY and my starting weight was a little more than you (392). When I spoke to the surgeon for the first time, I had the mindset of the sleeve. When I spoke to him he stated with as much weight I wanted to lose, that we can do the sleeve and a RNY revision later because he didn't believe I would be happy with the weight loss. I chose RNY because I didn't want to have a 2nd revision surgery later. In the end, its your choice and what your comfortable with

What To Do On Weekends
I know this is sedentary, but I started reading more and coloring the adult coloring books. With something in my hands, I keep myself busy and don't get tempted to go into the kitchen out of boredom and grab something to eat

Back to liquids for most of the day....
You can do this. For the past few weeks, up until this week, I was doing really well and a had a huge weight loss. I also had my wisdom teeth taken out the Friday before thanksgiving so that helped my liquid diet and not over indulging...This week, on the other hand, I feel like a bottomless pit...but I will get back on track tomorrow. Good luck and we can all do this!

Dare I Ask?
I learned that I needed to be more outgoing. Its crazy how much 90+ lbs on you can really have the affect that it did. I am more outgoing now, added years to my life and health, and am figuring out the person I was supposed to be. I cant wait for more of this journey

No Sex? WTF
I am so sorry this is happening. I am not in the same situation, but its more of the opposite. My relationship with my significant other has changed since I have the surgery. I am the one not giving affection and attention in the relationship. Its not that I don't want to, but he has been nothing but unsupportive since I started this journey and wants to purposely sabotage me. He basically said the other night he likes the fat me, not this new me with more confidence. I am in the mode right now that I am planning my escape, and even mentioned to him that I am not happy, and the only things he talks about it how it will affect him and what he is going through. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you. We all go through these changes, but we need to be strong and get through them..with or without our men

Where did you all lose weight from first?
It started in my face first, and then I discovered the collar bone that I didn't even know I have. Right now its legs and some in the stomach, even though I still sometimes see the same person in the window, clothes sizes are dropping

Amusing, here is your laugh for the day.
I always have to hold up my pants while walking up stairs and even sometimes when I am walking straight. I will take it for the less pounds I have I just make sure to always wear extra layers underneath so that if they do fall...well...at least they wont get a show!
