Definitely a challenge to get liquids in ... Sleeved on 7-21 and today has been the best with liquids. Puréed yogurt, Sf Popsicles, Water, Tomato Soup, Protein shake... I'm still not sure I got quite enough in. Getting tired of sweet stuff...

Smoke some pot. It will help with the pain and nausea. Plus it's just fun anyway. It will give you cotton mouth and you will want to keep drinking Water for the dry mouth. It may sound strange but it helps with my hunger pains too.

I use infant sippy cups.... Measure out my target for 15 minutes and keep it by me... So every time I see it, I take a sip. I learned this trick on my Lapband journey nearly 10 years ago.

I think Mirolax is the safest go to, we use it for alot of our patients, and my surgeon told me to use it after I went 5 days without, start with one capful and give it 24 hours to work, if still too hard go another capful and stop, stay close to home after 2nd capful, you may get stomach cramps right before, and caution on anything you take. You will become dehydrated very quickly so drink a lot of fluids, I would go with Powerade Zero or Gatorade G2 and Water, it will also help you pass if you take a lot of fluids and do some physical activity, call your office first to make sure......

If your medical team allows it, use some Miralax or Milk of Magnesia in conjunction with Senokot or Dulcolax (stool softener). You need to poop, don't hold back. It's either poop or end up in the ER having some nurse's fingers up inside working to remove impacted stool. Which do you choose?

I used the gentle Dulcolax for sensitive tummies (the pink one). I took 2. Be prepared to stay home for about 6 hours at least. I only had to take it once, that got everything moving.

I also am not sure of my date yet. The waiting game is terrible, I feel I have so many questions on the process. I have completed my initial consult with labs, psycholigist and testing, dietician and the MD of the program, as well as the excercise doc. My BMI is over 50 so my insurance waives the 6 month supervised doc appts(BCN of Michigan). They are fast tracking me since I have no other issues besides my weight at this point. Instead of a month in between appointments, I go back in two and a half weeks to meet with the Psychologist, Dietician and MD again and also complete the Body Comp Scan. The doctor is not ordering any other medical screening. I think after this appointment I will meet with the surgeon and have papers submitted to insurance. I am hoping for a Surgery date of sometime at the end of April. Am I correct in the process so far?

Carecredit used to be pretty lenient a few years back. I'm not sure how strict their credit standards are now, though. There is another site called creditboards.com where you may be able to determine if people were approved for carecredit and what their credit score was for approval.
    Good luck!

Hi, everyone! I found today that I have been approved for surgery...I'm super excited!!! My paperwork was submitted 3-13-15 and the decision was made 3-16-15. I received the letter from BCBS TX in the mail today. I have waited soooo long for this day. I don't have a surgery date yet, but that should be coming this time this week. Thanks everyone for your advice. Good luck to everyone!!!

My biggest issue was support of my husband. He just kept saying you can do it, you don't need to do that, its so drastic.
I finally said, you don't have to like it, but I need your support. I've been thinking about surgery for 10 years! Finally after 2 babies, its "my" time to get with it. I'm already fit. I love working out.. I just can't get the eating right.

I really didn't have a hard time with making a decision. I'm 33 and have been trying to conceive for almost 8 years. With numerous attempts of IVFs I did become pregnant until 9 weeks later when I lost my precious twins. At that point I developed depression over losing my babies. Resorting to overeating. With my polycystic ovaries it became hard for 1 to lose weight and 2 to become pregnant. But what really broke me was when my insurance company denied me for another IVF treatment and that i had 5% chance at conceiving. This is when I realized that my dreams of becoming a mother had come to an end. Again I began overeating. This past December my husband decided he wanted the be sleeved and I that point I also made the decision to get sleeved 1 for my health and 2 to start a family we've been so long struggling to create. I'm so ecstatic that medicine came up with this tool. It's a second chance and it gives me hope. :-)
