Hello, Ok, everyone. My surgery was cancelled because I had fever yesterday. My new surgery date is now three weeks from now. Am I making everyone happy when I promise to follow the Protein shake diet 100% from now on? And not only will I follow it for 14 days, but I am actually starting today. Hope everyone is doing well. -

I will be honest. Having gastric bypass on Monday and am starting having only Clear liquids as of right now. Scared to death to have complications but cannot control my self-defeating behavior... Tried all the Protein shakes I could find; they all make me want to throw up. Literally. But I have had lots of high protein greek (plain) yogurt and the surgeon's office say that I will be fine. Please, don't bash me for my confessions! I am feeling very depressed as is... Thank you for reading. -

Just think about the rest of your life......I am getting sleeved on 3/31, and when I start to think negative thoughts, I just thank God that I'm able to have this procedure done. So many people try and are denied because of insurance, health risks, etc., so we are so blessed to be able to join the loser's bench!! I will pray for you and a wonderful outcome as well. You can do this!!!!

@Susan Mary I so agree with you. @Smal2015 your having normal thoughts!! I questioned my decision till the end of the fisrt 4 wks PO!!! lol..that was my breaking point after that first month I felt "FREE"!! the 2 wks up to surgery day I questioned myself daily I was estatic I was approved my life was turning around my health was turning around!! my fat suit was going to shed ounces daily!! my mind was wondering what the hell am I doing?! lol I went through it..its normal. its scarey. but I am 8 months PO and over 100 pds down and its been an amazing journey and I wouldnt trade it for nothing! best thing I ever did..30 yrs of dieting yo yo I have done it all! this is done and over with and the tool I needed all along I just wish I had known about this yrs ago. hang in there!! you dont want to miss this! keep us posted when you can and feel up to it! dont forget to walk walk walk and sip sip sip!!!

Hi everyone, Just curious what your experience has been with the pre-op liquid Protein shake diet... Today is my first day and I am supposed to be on it for two weeks until my surgery on 2/23. How much can I expect to loose during this time? My calorie intake is going to be 800 - 1000 kcal daily. Oh. And by the way, oh, do I want to eat now! Lol! But those days are over and here is for a new beginning on what should be a wonderful journey on the path to a healthier, slimmer and happier me!

Totally agree with having so called food funerals... I have had them for months... But today is my first day if Protein shakes and 14 days until my surgery. Cannot wait to start my new life! Nervous, yes. Terrified, sure. But excited? Oh, yes!

Thank you for your suggestions. Just ordered Premier Protein in chocolate from Amazon... Surgery is in 14 days... Just started my Protein shake diet today... Cannot wait to have this surgery behind me and start my road towards being healthy, happy & slim:)

Hi carolina, My surgery date for gastric bypass is also 3/23. I am 5 5 1/2 and I weigh 230. I am nervous and excited at the same time! How about you?
