  1. what kind of insurance do you have?
  2. yep the cookies, they knew they were found out! You did it...you did a brave thing and got your damn can back! LMAO good for you !!!
  3. that is exactly why i did this thread, I think its BS also...not one other person I talked too paid a program fee or even knew about the fee (either of them lol)...After the program fee of 2850/my deductible 250/my portion of the surgery itself 1500 (est) and what about the anestesia there is another fee/by the time I am done it is equal to a cash pay in Mexico with out the vacation!
  4. work the doctor...if he says no...go back...keep asking! My doc asked me every month if I was "sure" I was young but it was my 3rd...I really had to convince him to do it...but it has been 13 years and I have never regreted it! Good luck
  5. Good luck Conchita, its still a journey just a different path!
  6. If it were me I would gain the 13 pounds, as is I barely make it..If I lost 13 pounds now I would no longer qualify... Best wishes with your decision making
  7. Who ever stole it is an asshole!
  8. Wow, I am so sorry to hear about your disappointment. Is there anything you can do? Best wishes Lana
  9. Has anyone else been told that Sacbariatrics has a program fee of $2850??:faint:
  10. I know, I know...how does it get this far...life, bills, babies, marriage...and sometimes divorce. Obesity is a progressive disease, thats HOW it happened.
  11. I know Jayne I am scared too, but honestly once you get enough information you will feel better. At first I was kind of depressed ...wow I am so fat that only medical intervention will cure me. Then I joined this forum, did a lot of reading and research on the "disease" of obesity. I did not think it was a disease...but now I know better I know that no matter how hard I try I "can" lose weight but the odds of keeping it off are very very small. I stopped dieting because every time I went on a diet I gained more weight. Again depressing. So here I am 5'2.5 and 202 pounds and this is where I will stay unless I decide there is a better way...and I did decide I want to live! As long as I am this weight my chances of a heart attack increase tremendously, as well as diabetes, and other sorts of nasty stuff. I want to see my grandkids, to be able to walk or hike, ride a bike with little or no pain. I want to take an aerobics class again. I decided I want to live a long healthy life as opposed to this sedintary, gluotenous life I already have. Just remember anything new can be frightening so educate yourself...and best wishes Lana
  12. Tommy O Dude..........

  15. Congrats holly on your date, I am looking at probably March.
  16. HI Misspeesh, We have the same doc! My question is, did they tell you about the program fee? Lana
  17. Congrats on being banded...Keep us all posted! Lana
  18. BOURGA, it really depends on the type of ins plan you have. Do you know if you have a deductable? Do you know if you are responsible for a percentage of the procedure? For me this will be very costly my doc charges a program fee of 2800, my portion of the surgery is 1500 my ins deductable is 250 my psy eval is 200... I hope this helps and good luck Lana
  19. Hi Myggr, Welcome and Congrats on your new BAND...tell us everything!
  20. Hi Miss Maudie, My name is Lana and I have only been on this forum for about 3 or 4 weeks. I am at the beginning of my journey as well. I have aready had the seminar and my 1st appt. I will meet with the psycologist and dietician in the next 6 weeks. And next week I will have my chest xray and my labs done!! ONE MY WAY, congrats and welcome to the FORUM!
  21. Hey CJV, I agree with the rest of the forum, choose a doc with more experience. Because in the end this does not JUST translate into surgical experice but experice with the band itself, ie fills and unfills and any other little thing that may happen along the way. Congrats of the beginning of your journey, I am right behind you.
