6. Ms BearKat11 Hope every thing keeps going ok for you. Saleel22
7. Hi Comepickmeup, Sorry you had some complications with your surgery and hope all is well with that now, but I laughed out loud at the green pee and the look on the nurses face. Being an ex nurse from way back it appealed to my sick sence of humour. I hope all the gas is coming out ok. My turn on Wednesday 16th so getting nervous now. Saleel22
8. Hi Hilary, Glad to hear you are doing so well. Good luck on the journey. Saleel22
9. Hi Karen, I think we all feel the same way waiting for the day to come. Good luck. Read every thing on here as it does help. Best of luck. Saleel22
10. Hi Aussiegirl, Thanks for posting such a great read. It gives a true insight of every day life with the band. I am being done on the 16th on the Gold Coast and am finding reading everything like this is the only way for me to stay calm. Good luck to you. I hope you keep on doing well. Saleel22
11. Hi Thistledoe, Know the feeling. Getting nervous as well. Trying to keep calm and think of other things then it just sort of hits me. We'll be ok, I'm sure. Saleel22
12. Hi GraceUtah. You have done so great. Just looked at your ticker and noticed how much weight you have lost. You must feel wonderful. Good on you. Saleel22
13. Hi Fred, I think it would be worse luck to actually loose your rings when you have lost the weight than to not get them resized because of some superstition. If your marriage is good changing ring sizes isn't going to ruin that. Good luck. Don't stop loosing weight just to make the rings fit again lol. Saleel22
14. Hi Brez1015, Good luck for the 11th. I hope every thing goes smoothly for you. We'll be thinking of you. Saleel22
15. Good luck to all of you. I am being banded on the 16th January as well. VKO the horror stories always make some people feel better. My husband and I travel a lot and you can bet every time we are going to take a flight there is an air crash documentory on TV just to get my nerves going. You will be fine, just keep thinking positive. This is what I keep telling myself. I have had previous surgeries that I had to have but still feel nervous about this. I think that is a normal thing. Just keep reading all the positive things that people have to say on here. Good luck to every one.(including me). Saleel22
16. Hi Mary, I have copied something that I lifted from elsewhere on the forums. I don't think the person would mind as this is very helpful. I hope this helps you with answers to give to the negative people. Saleel22 The answer to people who think the lap band is the easy way out.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Soula, I went to a seminar this week presented by an obesity surgeon and was talking to him about the issue of people saying it's the "easy way out" and he said this... Well sure, the lapband tool is designed to make losing weight easier for people but isn't that the same with any 'tool' ???? Why should anyone judge us for that? So would someone say to a carpenter that using a nail gun is the easy way out when they should use a hammer? Would someone say to a baker that using a mixing machine is the easy way out when they should mix by hand? If a tool such as the lapband is available to us and makes losing weight easier (not saying EASY, but EASIER) than other methods and therefore saves our lives then whose business is it anyway? Probably the same judgemental people who make mothers feel guilt if they need pain relief in labour (as that's taking the easy way out rather than suffering!) geeez, some people should just find something more constructive to say. Anyway, I'm sure you didn't let that one negative person get to you Soula but for anyone else who gets that shit from someone there's the reply! If we weren't supposed to use tools that make life easier for us then we'd all still be living in caves eating raw meat without cutlery!
