  1. @ , that sucks! I'd think by 8 weeks out your weight loss would make for a looser bra band. I hope this gets better for you! Or you find something that works.
  2. @@LipstickLady ,I'd like to understand that too! I'm thinking the band hits an incision? Mine's pretty close to hitting mine, I just avoided the underwire bras for a couple weeks.
  3. No, I'm doing great at 4 weeks post op! Energy still isn't at 100% but it's daily improving. At 3 weeks post op I was able to stop both my high blood pressure pills. My bp today at the surgeons office was 118/78 :-) Excited to continue on my journey!
  4. How are you doing, other than burping? Lol;-) I had a lot of trouble with burping at first. My dietician actually had me use a straw to help with it. So I did for a couple days until I got better at swallowing less air. She said I had bad technique.
  5. I am a musical person. I relate everything to music :-) Including a very recent bad choice of mine. Long story short, it involved me allowing someone to fool me for over a year. After 2 months my head is almost clear of the mental abuse and power he had over me. Anyways, this song came to mind reading the closing of your post. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8v_4O44sfjM
  6. My fav is breaking bad! Sad that I've watched it all and there isn't anymore. Starting Dr. Who now. Idk, it seems lame, and there are kids who watch it, so I'm watching a kid show?! Ahhh
  7. I'm gastric bypass but rny and sleeve were given the same guidelines by our nutritionist team. A minimum of 20 minutes up to 45 minutes. I use the timer and take a bite every minute. Typically takes me 20 ish minutes for 1/2 cup of food ate with a baby soon. Hope this helps :-)
  8. I recommend a visit with your dietician. There's one at the place I go to that just tells it like it is and is full suggestions! She kicked my butt into shape before surgery and it's hung in there for me. Good luck on your journey:-)
  9. @@bellabloom , I can't agree more. I had surgery over the kids winter break, when they went back they discussed what they did during their time, my baby, 6 yrs old, said "my mom had surgery so she can live longer" Right then I knew I made the right choice!
  10. You lost 30 lbs in a month dieting? That's amazing! Good for you :-) I guess my question is this, why is the nurse telling you all this stuff and not the dieticians or surgeon? That's weird. I would've demanded to have spoke to the doctor after the weight drop. I'm fortunate to have 3 huge hospitals within 30 minutes of my house that all offer a bariatric program. Can you look elsewhere maybe?
  11. The surgeon I had, had no deaths under him when we initially met. He has patients come from other states even! He did end up with 1 death. But he'd been doing bariatric surgery for years. I think it really comes back to your surgeon. Definitely do an online search about your surgeon before meeting.
  12. Volunteering in my children's classrooms. I've always been soo afraid of the kids teasing my children about me that I don't volunteer. I've missed out on a lot now because of my being fat. This year promises to be different!
  13. Yikes! Not here. In fact I think mine has greatly improved. The test will be next week when "lady time" hits. That's when I struggle. I've also been using homemade face cleaner. It's baking soda and water. Make a paste. You can actually leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse well. My face feels soo clean afterwards:-)
  14. I do know what you mean! Update us when you feel up to it :-)
  15. I'm sorry :-( I can tell you from my experience, surgery date 12/30/14, that the day I came home I wasn't worth much. The next day though I did fix my own foods, folded laundry and did some dishes. Did it hurt, yes. The key is not to overdue it. I hate that you find yourself in this position, but we women can accomplish amazing things when we have to despite the circumstances. Stay strong and you will be in my thoughts.
  16. I understand! Pork chops never smelled better to me :-) I actually took a bite and chewed it, then spit it out! Lol, but it did what I needed it to do. It satisfied that craving for me.
  17. A dose of MOM! (Milk of Magnesia) I believe I was told 2tbsp. up to 2x a day. I had to take a tbsp. yesterday morning and had productivity
  18. Congratulations:-)Keep us updated!
  19. onedayillbefound I'm still on full liquid diet, but I've been charting. Thursday I should start my next stage.
  20. @@tart my husband bought me some at Kroger. They were 3 for $5! BUT, I can't seem to stand the taste post surgery :-( I had really counted on using those to get my protein and water at once. What's your favorite flavour so far? Mine was grape.
  21. zedqueen, I didn't have a 2 week special diet either. I freaked out a little also when I read on here that soo many had to do a two week liquid diet. I actually ate ate the cheesecake factory the night before surgery! I had never ate there or had cheesecake from there so my brother gave me a gift card for Christmas to eat there for my "last dinner". I ate very reasonable for dinner but splurged big on dessert Surgery the next morning just fine! Good luck this Tuesday :-)
  22. @@Oompaloompa I gotcha. It does mess with a person! I'm here if you ever want to talk :-)
  23. Hi @@Oompaloompa :-) I'm doing pretty good actually. I really didn't think I would do ok, or this well! My biggest issues right now is: getting enough fluids, keeping my emotions in check, minor pain still in biggest incision, and wanting to wake up skinny Lol :-) :-) What are some of your struggles?
