  1. @@BSU I second that your transformation is amazing! You truly look like a different person. Good for you, you look great :-)
  2. Very good! I had a great recovery. Tiredness was an issue but around week 6 that went away. Before that though I couldn't make it through the day without a nap. Early on it was 2 naps. It's a big shock to the body. Food wise has been relatively great. Eating out is becoming easier. I've only gotten sick on food about a handful of times. It's because the food I ate was too dry. The only way we learn is through trial and error :-) At my 3mo check up I was ahead of his schedule for weight loss. I go back in a month and I think he'll be rather surprised again. I'm having great losses every week. I'd drive myself nutty if I weighed in every day! I've had no negatives. The only regret I have is not doing this when I was much younger. I feel that life is mine for the taking now!
  3. I have uhc and received a very similar letter. I had surgery 12/30/14 bypass, because I had already met my out of pocket max for the year, I paid nothing for the surgery, surgeon, hospital or anesthesia! Good luck.
  4. I've had it and it did just fine. Mind you I don't eat it every day. It's a handful at the movies and then no more :-)
  5. Emotionally, I had some very bad emotional days. I still get them, but they are now mostly hormone driven. My hormones are very out of wack. But from what I've read from others, it won't last. Fatigue was a biggie for me in the beginning. At around 6 weeks it went away! I dealt with anxiety a great deal before surgery, it's still there. It really depends on what's going on in my life! Hope this helps.
  6. My dinner was 1/2 johnsonville brat patty, 1tbsp ketchup, pickle slices and 2tbsp chocolate pb2.
  7. Let us know how your treatment works. Good luck and thanks for the info!
  8. That's disappointing! I'm sorry. I'm glad I'm asking then. It's always good to hear truth from actual patients!
  9. I have uhc also. Did you have good results?
  10. I'd like to resurrect this post. My left leg looks awful. I have 1 vein that is raised. The rest are these spidery veins. Has anyone else had any luck with a vein solution center & their insurance?
  11. Not sure where your located but my Kroger has it in their organic section. I haven't found it at any other grocers by me.
  12. @@Stacyc311 stay the course! I wanted and seriously contemplated rny at 21. I let my mom talk me out of it. Finally last year I decided enough was enough! I went to seminars at different hospitals and got into a program before I told her! Lol My mom like yours is obese. I've watched her struggle through every surgery she has had because of her being overweight. Everyday she goes home from work and sleeps. She misses out on being involved in my children's lives. She misses out on life in general because of the hold that food has on her. I was following in those same footsteps! I had to break the cycle. I couldn't risk ending up physically broken because of food. I asked her to not tell anyone. But she did. She told my grandma in confidence! But she just found out that she then told 1 of my aunt's in confidence. Lord knows, my whole family probably knows now! When it's none of their business. It's mine! All of this to say, I understand. I am sorry:-( Stay the course to a healthy long life! I look forward to hearing of your successes on here!!
  13. I'm glad you're doing better! All of us have different guidelines. Mine says to stay under 10 grams each meal. I love oatmeal and a way that I fix it to add a little protein is I add pb2 to it with some splenda. Just a suggestion. I love peanut butter :-) Am glad that you're on the upswing!!
  14. @@Mommabird My oldest daughter is a big girl, I might actually weigh a little less than her now, but I took over her jeans. I couldn't tell if that made her happy, sad, angry or all of those! I'm still large, but I'll take a size 22 over a 28 any day.
  15. @@Babbs I don't think you're whining at all! I can relate. In the past, 10 years ago to be exact, I lost 80 lbs in a matter of months. I'd think that with the surgery helping me this time around I'd lose way more. But it's not been like that for me. I am happy and ever so grateful that I am slowly losing! I agree with jamielogical. I'm thinking it has to be the years of yo-yo dieting and our age. **looked back at post, it was cleos's mom, I agree with jamielogical too though :-)*** My mom keeps telling me that I look great and if I don't lose more that I shouldn't be disappointed. But I will be! I didn't go through what I have to still be fat.
  16. @@Babbs my nutritionist told me that at first we will lose like crazy but as we get smaller our metabolism will decrease so losing will be harder. That's all I have to offer on that :-)
  17. It has to run it's course. If that was a sweetened pack of oatmeal it may of had too much sugar in it?
  18. I think I posted before but... My brother yesterday saw me and said, "if you lose anymore weight you'll be a skinny chic!" I love it. I still have bunches to lose, but I'll take it!
  19. I've read that a lot of bariatric pal users, including myself, had to do a sleep study as part of your pre-op stuff. Agree with @@Margie122 . The more comorbidities the better, in a way :-(
  20. I have to log onto website, not use the app. I think after you've logged in you hit the gear icon by your username.
  21. Suggestion-Low fat cottage cheese and lite greek yogurt have a good amount of Protein. Hoping the medicine will help!
  22. DOS 12/30/14 SW 335lbs HW 359lbs I'm doing great! My cw is 279 lbs. My dr says I'm 5-10 lbs ahead of his schedule! I've thrown up here and there. But I pretty much know now what to stay away from. I was off my bp meds, then put back on. Just got taken off again today because I've been near passing out and my bp today at the dr office was 100/60. No wonder! My first set of blood work isn't until the end of June. I'm a little nervous. But we'll see. And there's quite a few people on here. And there are some regulars which make it nice. I'm sorry to hear of your complication. What are they going to do?
  23. There's an app called food timer. I used it a lot when I was introducing semi solids and solids back into my diet. You can set it for however long between bites and it'll alert you when to take the next one. Good luck on your journey!
  24. It looks like your face is thinner. Your belly button isn't really hiding now. Your arms appear to be thinning out. Your probably losing proportionately, which is good! I have trouble seeing my achievements as well. I really believe it's a head thing! Keep up the good work.
