Hubby isn't behind my choice

He isn't behind my choice to have surgery. RNY scheduled for Monday. Everyone told me not to worry, he will come around. Well I've been going through this process for over a year now, had my surgery date for 3 months and still nothing.

I'm really F&$!;@@... I have 3 kids (12 8 &3) and he has Monday off for the holiday, is working from home on Tuesday (I will be in hospital) and took Wednesday off (my pick up day, figure I will need him to run and get meds and stuff)... Thursday and Friday he's working from home and really thinks I am not going to need his help at all. I say "well you will just be downstairs if I need help you can come up and make lunch for the baby or if she needs help in the potty" he says we'll have to see.

From everything I've been reading im likely going to be stoned Thursday and Friday! In no condition to mind her! I'm freaking the hell out.

Any words of wisdom?

  • You will be exhausted from surgery and pain meds. Have him in the room with you when they give you the discharge instructions. Hopefully this will make him see that you will hardly be able to take car

I'm sorry :-( I can tell you from my experience, surgery date 12/30/14, that the day I came home I wasn't worth much. The next day though I did fix my own foods, folded laundry and did some dishes.

Hopefully this will make him see that you will hardly be able to take care of yourself, never mind a child! Maybe he will come around when he sees how out of it you are. Good luck.

I hate that you find yourself in this position, but we women can accomplish amazing things when we have to despite the circumstances. Stay strong and you will be in my thoughts.

I do know what you mean! Update us when you feel up to it :-)
