Fruits
My NUT said she never had anybody dump from natural sugars in fruits. Oranges are still tough on my pouch a year out from RNY. But I love my fruit!

Always hungry & sore back?
Thanks for the reply I'm going to check out that link now. I didn't realize after a while I would have to change how I eat - that's good to know! I was always Vitamin d deficient and I was reading that that can actually lead to back pain. I picked up some supplements and am going to add them to my daily regimen! Hopefully it helps. It's not debilitating pain by any means, just a dull annoyance. Thanks again!

Always hungry & sore back?
10 months out from RNY: I feel hungry all the time, pretty much except for the hour or so after I eat. For example tonight I ate at 6:00, had a chicken breast and some salad, now I'm starving and my back hurts - lower middle of my back. I'm assuming it's connected? It's like a dull ache. I don't understand why I'm suddenly feeling so hungry? Basics: RNY 1.19.15, lost 85lbs so far, tolerate most everything I've tried, drink lots of Water, slacked pretty badly on my Vitamins the lasts two months but am back on track with them starting yesterday. Any insight?

Take a peek at my menu...
I second getting a decent food scale - it's a huge help I use genpro unflavored Protein powder - it has 30g protein in a tiny scoop, I add it to my Water bottle (24oz) with a crystal lite packet and drink two of those per day. It doesn't dissolve very well, but as long as you give a few good shakes before taking a sip it disperses through the bottle and you can't even taste it. My NUT likes me to get 60-75g protein per day and there's no way to get all of that from food alone. Best of luck - your food choices sound perfect!

Gun swallowed!
No I never called - I was fine I figured food that I swallow is bigger than that piece of gum, KWIM? Thanks for your reply though!

How can I get enough protein
I've started mixing my 24oz Water bottle with a crystal lite packet and a scoop of genpro unflavored Protein powder - it has 30g protein in a tablespoon of powder. Early on you really can't get all of your protein from food. You're doing great so far hang in there it will get easier!

Gun swallowed!
Should say *GUM* lol!! I was laughing so hard at something my husband said that I sucked my gum down my throat! Will my pouch get clogged?
-
How much?
I had RNY on 1.19 and am only down 32. I think you're doing great!

Food Tastes
My food palette is so much smaller... I can't stand most food. St paddy's day meal used to be my favorite, I was gagging while cookin it for the family and didn't eat a single bite. Right now the only food I can eat without feeling nauseous is fresh mozzarella, black olives, pickles, garlic hummus and triscuts - I still use unflavored Protein powder in my crystal lite and eat 1 sometimes 2 Protein Bars per day. Even yogurts are tasting too sweet. It's VERY depressing. Flip side - im steadily losing weight (down 30lbs since surgery 8 weeks ago) and am rarely hungry. It's common, and you just have to find a happy medium. Your tastes will Change on the turn of a dime, and from what I've been told in due time you will enjoy foods again

I don't know - I was allowed purred foods after day 3 (appleaauce yogurts etc...) but inwould follow your doctor's orders to be safe.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO FEEL NORMAL/GOOD AGAIN?
60-80g protein is good, make sure you're getting your fluids in too. 70-100pz water.

Are you eating enough? Sounds like low blood sugar?

Frozen meals - lean cuisine weight watchers...
After WLS we should not be eating more than 50 carbs per day. I know how you feel, I am not a meat eater. But when I had my sleeve last September, I knew what I was signing up for. I eat chicken, fish, hate eggs, but eat them. Best of luck to you. I can't look at or even smell eggs, I literally gag and often vomit. My mother says its a phobia, I don't know if I agree with that lol, although it is not in my imagination. Like I said never in a million years would I have dreamed I would not be able to eat chicken. I'm going to try and grill some thin breasts up and see if they go down easier, maybe with some kind of dressing.

I have never been able to eat eggs. Smell, texture and taste make me gag. I've tried a few times here and there to see if my tastes have changed but no luck. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll keep plugging along, without the help of the freezer meals

Thanks!! I really thought I would be A-OK post op... I can literally eat the same thing for months and months on end... If I can just tolerate chicken I would be good to go

Yeah see mine never gave me any #s except for guidelines for choosing Protein supplements. Oh. I also bought Protein Bars. 20g protein per bar. Those are tolerable tasting, I limit myself to one per day for Breakfast. Maybe I should get some plain powder and add it to my coffee.
