Quick! Need advice on this chicken stuck in my band!
ok. I am not dying or anything--guess that sounded a bit dramatic... anyway, i am sitting here reading LBT on my lunch and evidently not chewing as I should and I have a piece of chicken stuck! no big deal usually, but it doesn't seem to want to go up or down. should i drink something? i thought I read somewhere that might be bad? dunno. i don't feel like PB'ing. it doesn't seem to want to go down. i can't figure it. sorry, this rarely happens to me because i seem to have random restriction, so i can be abit clueless. heck i had pizza last night. go figure. so what? i just wait it out? it's not really painful, but it is hurting. it must just be big enough to be annoying!

Ever present chocolate
Oh yeah, the doves! a whole scrumptious chunk of evil wrapped in a special wrapper with a message to make me feel good. I don't need any help with that when eating choco, though. I need that when the guilt hits. Maybe I should save those wrappers for later!! but yes, the doves, oh my my my....

Ever present chocolate
Holy smokes, batman, I am sitting here dying for chocolate now and this is the thread i find... :heh: Oh well, I guess that really isn't too big of a coincidence. it would proabably be a bigger one to find me at a time when I am not craving it. *sigh* and on and on and on and on it goes...

What do husbands think
i haven't made it to I do's yet but a couple of years in shoudl count for something, eh? Anyway, I was SHOCKED he was so supportive. I was scared to death to tell him and finally did after months of research. It was my idea, but when i almost backed out he keep me in there swinging. He even took a second to pay for it. It's weird I haven't lost any weight, but he still tells me I am beautiful (what a liar ), and keeps encouraging me by saying it will happen for me. I just love this guy!

Highest comfortable fill?
Hey LI Lady, What am I missing? You can do that? Geez, I hope I am not being stupid or asking a silly question...
-
do I have enough restriction or not?
mercedes, did I miss what your current fill was? i am curious considering your situation with seemlingly inconsistent results with restriction.
-
was it worth it?
just to balance the discussion, i havent lost anything yet after four months and wonder if i did the right thing. but then again it has only been four months and maybe i just don't have the right fill yet. i don't think i will ever be really thin, but i defintely would think i made the right decision if i could at least be more active and confident. i think i am the exception here, though, as far as not losing, so keep that in mind.

Addictions...
i can't even go there unless i want to seriously get depressed. all i can say is that certinaly seems that way to me, kelly. i look at this as a disease i will fight even after i have lost weight and the band has helped me (if it ever does. )

Fill Centers
i use a lady that i think is going to get on board with them. the experience is fine. my fills don't work yet, but i don't think it is because of them. they have done a good job. but about the whole plan and payments and such, she hasn't done all that yet. she is still working out her affiliation i believe.
-
When did your fills really start to work for you?
still not working very well. at least not as far as weight loss goes.
-
do I have enough restriction or not?
How is it going mercedes? I feel your pain. I am over four months in myself and have only lost 2 pounds from my pre-surgery weight. even had the same dieting idea. i can't really exercise. i joke and call myself a cripple, but it's not really that funny. i wont go into details and bore you with that, but it really stinks. i too feel like my restriction is werid and that i must still need even more. i don't know, i am just guessing. anyway, i am not trying to hijack your thread with my issues, but if you find any answers or just want to blow up, feel free to PM me. I was starting to think I was the only one this happened to. good luck. let us know how it goes.

Highest comfortable fill?
Of course the determination of the appropriate fill is VERY personal and individual, but I was wondering just out of curiosity what the highest, but not too tight fill, everyone has. I don’t mean it to be a contest or anything, or to determine for sure my own needs, I was just wondering… I have tried just checking by siggy’s, but it is a very disconnected way to look at the data. Anyone up for sharing that number with me? THANKS!!!

What am I missing? Why are ppl leaving?
I can't believe I am writing this... I ALWAYS try to stay out of the heated stuff. But here it goes… I don’t get to visit everyday, and sometimes not near as often as I would if I weren't so crazy busy. So I can't say definitively what is going on. I certainly could debate the sociology of the whole thing; I think I got an "A" in that class. But still, it is probably too expansive an issue for me to really get into with my less than expert opinion. And no doubt, I would be bound to offend someone. And knowing that (since I don't think it really would provide true support to anyone by my guessing at these things), I think I will skip the larger issues that arise when a group of folks from all walks get together. Certainly sociology is always a factor, and I expect that, but I think relevancy is the larger issue for me. Quite simply, all I can say is, for WHATEVER reason, almost every time I come by as of late, there is a lot of offended or angry folks going back and forth on something. I am not debating why, or if they should, that is beyond my expertise. What I am saying, is that folks do things that are relevant to them. If I come by a few times a week and constantly find a negative atmosphere, then I come by less (or leave in some cases, I guess). I come here for something positive--sometimes support, sometimes new ideas, sometimes to see others progress so I can believe I will lose more than 2 pounds, or sometimes to be the shoulder for someone else to cry one. But a positive atmosphere is the general idea. But if I "feel" the atmosphere is negative (and perception creates my reality in this case) and I was looking for positive, then the board would become irrelevant for me. And when it is, I move on. I come by LBT less and less lately for this very reason, but when/if I visit and see more of the atmosphere I was looking for, I will be back much more. It is a cycle, but a very personal one. I don’t know if that is really what others look for, though and I can’t assume that it is. But as far as atmosphere goes, it is the owners/ creators/moderators (I really don’t know who-these are guesses, but I am sure someone knows who) to decide what sort of atmosphere they want to create and to devise and implement a plan for doing so. That said, of course, I am not blaming these decision makers for people leaving. They might be thrilled with the board as is. And if so, I say fantastic! You have accomplished what you were trying to do. If not, they will reevaluate, and perhaps do some things differently. It’s not right or wrong, good guy/bad guy, or moral or immoral. It is, what it is. If it is relevant to me, whatever the outcome, then I stay. If it is not, I go look for what I need somewhere else. You can’t please everyone, and the folks who run the board must make these decisions based on their own value set and I do not envy their position. Personally, LBT is currently relevant to me, but like a great friend you can only spend a limited amount of time with. You would hate to never see them again, but when you do it will probably be in small doses.

WORRIED: The only one who has not lost ANY weight?
Thanks Delarla. I am sorry you're hardly losing either. we're here for you. I have been doing fitday and it REALLY helps. i have been hitting about 800-1200. I know that is crazy low, but don't be alarmed. My thyroid moves at a snails pace, and all the numbers say it probaby will take that. but you're right, I still might need to revisit all this with my doctor. Darnit! i wish a had a good one. boo hoo hoo, huh?

WORRIED: The only one who has not lost ANY weight?
not anymore. i did at first because it really wasn't easy to get use to such small bites and sooooo much chewing, but i think i have the hang of it now. it really helps me to eat A LOT less too. that is one great lesson i have already taken away from this, weight loss or not.

Still Hurting bad
Oh my goodness. I am really worried about you. I am certainly not an expert and do not want to cause alarm, but by the 4th week after surgery I couldn't even tell I had had one. Please please please be persitent with your doc and find out what is wrong. I am glad you are going back. I send my best wishes. Let us know what happens.

WORRIED: The only one who has not lost ANY weight?
I am four months out. Granted, I only had about 80 pounds to lose, but isn’t that still a lot? I am dieting right now in the pure stereotypical sense of the word—serious calorie restriction and feeling like I am starving to death. I know you have to enough calories to lose, I know cannot eat too many calories, I know my thyroid is confirmed to be completely jacked and I am on meds. I know I need another fill even though I am at 2.8cc. I know the right fill makes a lot of difference. But, then again, to have no weight loss? The more I read, even about folks who aren’t to their sweet spot yet, four months hardly seems the norm to start noticing a difference. I am sure there are things that I should not have eaten along the way and that before this second fill it was almost as if I didn’t even have a band. AND I am praying to the gods in band heaven that this next fill will make this post obsolete. I am just wondering if I am really the only one or if that is just my perception. I think I might be afraid of the answer, but I am ready for it just the same. I am trying so hard to stay positive, and doing okay, I guess. I could just use a a little encouragement right now if ya got any extra. :help:
