I BINGED
Hmmmm. ...being 7 weeks out I can't imagine eating that much, however, you've opened my eyes to that possibility and how important it will be to remain vigilant in later months. Thanks for the post.

Looking for friends my age going through the same.
How did I miss this thread? I had my sleeve surgery 2/3/2015. I am 62 and down 30 pounds- 10 on the 2 week pre-op diet. I feel great and am very happy with my results so far. I sometimes wish the weight would come off faster, but it is dropping. I had a pretty uncomplicated recovery except for nausea which I seem to always get from anesthesia. So happy I did this and I guess this was the right time, since I have contemplated it for a few years. Hooray for all the intrepid 60+ WLS people!

Need some sleeve love!????
We all recover differently. What we do have in common ( unless something unusual happens) is that every day there is some improvement. Soon you will start feeling better and if you need something for your discomfort take it.

February Sleevers - how are you doing?
Surgery 2/3/2015. Initial weight- 241, post-op diet weight (day of surgery)- 230, current weight- 211. My only post surgical issue was nausea which I knew I would have since I always have nausea following general anesthesia. No pain meds. or Tylenol needed after I came home. In fact felt pretty much 100% 5 days after surgery. I did have a stall two weeks after surgery which lasted about two weeks, but seem to be losing consistently since then about 2-3 pounds every week to week and a half. So I think I am sort of on the slower side. I probably get about about 600-800 calories a day, seem to be making my Protein requirements with the help of Protein shakes (2/day). Just recently have been able to just meet the liquid requirement per day. My dietician said I could count the protein shakes as liquid too. I find it much easier to find things I am interested in eating now that I am on soft foods stage- soon moving to regular food, however, no nuts, seeds, peels, stringy fruits/vegetables until May 3rd. Many of my clothes are becoming loose to the point of looking silly, but haven't had any pants fall down yet. Started wearing clothes I had packed away two to three years ago. I am walking one to two hours six days per week, well over 10,000 steps per day. Doing Tai Chi once a week. I feel great, so happy I did this! Aren't you?

Anyone not enjoy thier 'food funeral'
I did want to have a couple of my favorite Chinese dishes from our local restaurant, but my insurance approval came through so quickly that my surgery date was moved up by a month. The day the surgeon's office called to let me know, I had to start my two week pre-op diet. Oh well. I can try them in another month, probably have it for 4 or 5 meals!

11 Signs you've had WLS
@@nikkimarie_1991 Oh so true!! I keep checking for spills on my chest and I just don't have them anymore- used to be just about every meal.

Surgery in 7 hours
Happy to hear you are recovering, soon you won't even remember the annoying wait and will be watching the numbers on the scale go down!

Totally frustrated and don't know what to do
Why wouldn't your considering WLS be viewed as fighting for your family? Your husband sounds unreasonable and tormenting. For many of us being active and going to the gym still wasn't enough to lose an appreciable amount of weight. I wish you luck. Maybe if you keep mentioning the process it will be like the slow drip wearing down the rock.

How much did you lose on preop diet?
I should have included that I did not cheat. I figured it was a good time to get used to following my instructions from the surgeon, as I'd be doing that for the rest of my life.

How much did you lose on preop diet?
I lost 10 pounds and was on the pre-op diet for two weeks. BMI was 41 or 42?

Gastric sleeve Dumping
I tried the ricotta bake (with ricotta) the second day of my pureed stage. I had terrible "foaming" and was so uncomfortable- it lasted hours. I have never tried it again. For the record I hated the pureed stage, something about the textures, and was supposed to be on it for three weeks. I ended up doing the full liquid stage a little longer with a few additions. So glad that stage is over!

WLS and incontinence
Had surgery 2/3/2015, have lost 27 pounds and my stress/urge incontinence has already improved. I teased my surgeon that he fixed my bladder at the same time he did my sleeve!
