  1. Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery!
  2. Working on your confidence? From the sound of your post that's already happening! You are doing so well!
  3. Yeah!!!! Good for you! Glad your recovery is going well.
  4. Hoping your recovery is smooth and relatively painless!
  5. This is our silver Standard Poodle- Blitzen, one year old on Christmas eve. Slowly turning his silver color. We love him to pieces!
  6. Thanks krtrebie for the encouragement!
  7. I am still waiting for a surgery date. I will have my surgery at St. Joseph's in St. Paul with Dr. Koeplin. Haven't met him yet except for the introductory information meeting. I hope he's good! I have met with the bariatrician, nurse, dietition, psychiatrist, sleep study, blood work and the required five Health Partners phone consults. Now I have to wait to see the surgeon in mid-January, then wait for insurance paperwork and acceptance, then two week prep diet and another pre- surgery meeting with all the players. It certainly is a long drawn out process. I am hoping for late January early February surgery. Originally hoped I'd be done by the end of December for ins. deductible purposes. Oh well, it is all in their hands.
  8. Will pray for successful surgery and easy, swift recovery.
  9. Congratulations! What exciting news! Children are a blessing from the Lord.
  10. Tomorrow at this time it will be over! Those nerves! All will go fine, good luck.
  11. .....and she's still wondering where her German Shepherd went.
  12. Just had to laugh at this, especially re: the dog part!
  13. Well RJ, I think you can garner from all the responses here the indication as to whether or not you should be posting on this site! Quite a testament to your value here. Your advice is always well thought out in your responses to others. We need to hear about all the different outcomes and complications of WLS, including the less desirable ones and how to persevere through them. There is so much to be said for the voice of experience. Yes, you are a successful survivor! You are invaluable.
  14. Here is to new beginnings on Tuesday! God bless the surgeons hands and give you a safe, speedy recovery.
  15. Wow Kindle, you are the success story we all hope to be when we start this WLS journey! Congratulations on overcoming several hurdles this year.
  16. Maybe it is age related, but my Vit. D level has been low for years. When my Dr. told me the first time that my level was low I was astonished because I taught Environmental Ed. and was outside at least five days a week, and only used sunscreen on my face. So maybe as we age we are not able to manufacture enough D in our skin from exposure to the sun.
  17. Hey getnfit52 I am in MN, but not Rochester area. I will be having my surgery in St. Paul. Hope you find some fellow sleevers from your area, if not- at least we are from the same state.
  18. Praying for your day- that surgery goes well and recovery is swift.
  19. Praying for uncomplicated surgery and swift recovery for you.
  20. Engteacher, I am a little concerned about this too as I am the planner, shopper and preparer of all our meals in our household. My family has always enjoyed the things I cook, bake. I have cut back some already since we are now empty nesters, but my husband has a healthy appetite and loves my cooking. He will be be in for a shock! His idea of cooking is to open up a can and heat the contents up in the microwave.
  21. Could it be Dr. Moser's plan of limiting calories to 500 for two days of the week and normal amount of calories the other five days?
  22. Just like haleytrim's above comment, I find this forum very motivational. I am still very pre-op so I appreciate all the information I can glean from you veterans.
  23. Betty, I am 62 and hoping to have surgery in the next few months. In the process of jumping through the hoops right now. I would also like to hear about the sleeve journeys of those over 50. It is finally time for me!
