Sharp pains
@@sofianoemi You don't have a JP drain do you? I started having some sharp pains like that, I took my drain out (it had stopped working) and as soon as I did the pain went away. Oh PS: disclaimer; if you do have a JP I am in no way telling you to take yours out! I had permission on a Sunday from my surgeon because I'm in nursing and have dealt With JP drains. ????

Will I / Did You Go Off Protonix/Omerprazole/Pantoprazole PPIs?
@@mnmlst Good question I was wondering the same thing. I have the same feeling in the morning and I'm 3 weeks out with a week of meds left. I'm going to ask for a refill For next month and then see what happens when I try to stop, maybe a week before I actually run out so I will know if I need more or not.

Questions about post op pain
@@kimpossible67 I've had c-sections (3) and I asked that same question and got all the "oh it's not near as bad" well I can tell you the First moments directly after waking up were worse! For about 15min..the two days in the hospital I was on morphine but still had some pain (not too bad) first 2 days at home worse! I am not a medication taking person but after day two at home I called my surgeon and told Them the pain pills were pretty much worthless...they gave me another prescription for a much stronger pain pill and I was good after that. I think a lot of my issues also came from having a JP drain and staples. Now , after a week all the pain was pretty much gone. I was lucky not to have any gas ect...so I try not to complain, for me it was not "painless"'and I don't know why I ever thought it would be?! It's surgery! Glad it's over and glad I did it????

@@EhimyCD I would think you could use an alternative but I won't tell you to go against your DR. I would however tell you to call and ask them once you find something comparable to what they want you to take.

Surgery Without Aftercare
@@Proud2BMe I would think as long as you have a primary provider to check your labs ect...along the way you will be ok (assuming you dont have any complications) I only see my surgeon once a month for a few months. My first post-op appt was another leak test, b-12 shot, staple removal, and 3 min talking to. The next on is probably b-12 and weight. Not a whole lot. If the ridiculously expensive visits weren't covered by insurance I'm not sure I would keep going just for a shot and weights but I will be a "good" patient and continue on....

pre-op diet?
@@Shell88 I tried a few and bought a big container of the nectar fuzzy naval that everyone raved about...it's ok but I haven't used it since making a few Popsicles out of it. It Doesn't taste like any "orange juice" I've ever tried before I also bought the unflavored GNC protien powder and it def changes the flavor of things so its a big fat LIAR! Protien powders are hard!

pre-op diet?
@@Shell88 Yep, I'd ask them, depending on how many your allowed you may not need to add protien to other things right now....unless you just want to but I didn't like adding protein powder it changed the flavor of what I'm eating "unflavored"'my buttocks! I did after surgery because I HAD to since I couldn't really Even drink that well.
