Regret
@@KatrinaGrace My goodness! Calm down Dear! Nobody says "you can NEVER have carbs again" there's really nothing you can never have again. Banging your head and eating potato chips won't help in any situation. You didn't say when you had surgery?! November? I'm going to assume you are having a freak out moment because A: you aren't feeling good. B: maybe you haven't graduated to "real" food yet. C: wonderful delightful explosion of hormones? D: you were misinformed about your new way of eating? Or E: all of the above. The first few weeks are taxing to say the least. You are not doing yourself any favors By getting all worked up this early in the game. A lot , and I mean I've seen a lot of people with regret early out and then turn around and say how grateful they are Later. It's ok to vent, cry, scream, whatever get it out and let it go! You are going to be ok and I'm going to check back with you after some healing time has passed. Now I'm gonna need you to just Breathe!

Taste buds changed
@@samanthar Yes! They still do I liked all the premier protein shakes before surgery now I only like chocolate, I liked coconut water my first 2 days out, now I don't want it, and I liked my cream of shrimp soup but not anymore! It's like day to day things change. Sooooo try not to stock up on too much. Get the smallest quantities That you can and keep trying them for a few days because day one and two may be good but by day 3 your over it

Surgery 2 days ago. What now?!
@@alyssadietrch Had my surgery on a Monday and was back in class that next Monday. 1 full week was good I don't think I could have done it any earlier...unless you have someone to drive you around? The burping is normal I'm in week 3 and I still burp! No other issue though. Try to take it easy!

Length of Your Pre-Op Liquid Diet?
@@HawaiianTexan 2 weeks, BUT do what your Dr tells you to do. There are something's you can get from here but surgeons are different you can't rely of what someone else did...I say that so you don't stress when you read something different than what your surgeon has for you.

Day 5 - Pre-Op

AWESOME Turkey and brussel sprout meatballs
@@Shell88 Yes after about a week after surgery I was able to drink a whole one. When I started it would take me a good 30-40 mins but now I can drink one in 15-20 mins. I don't push it but I did/do mainly focus on fluids so it become easier each day. Water is still the HARDEST thing to get down,it takes longer than anything to drink! I don't know why but it does. I don't dislike the taste or anything it's just weird!

AWESOME Turkey and brussel sprout meatballs
No I only drink premier protein ready-made shakes in chocolate. They are my favorite since my pre-op. I had strawberry and vanilla too but I don't like them anymore just chocolate! I drink the whole dang thing! 2 of them give me 60 grams of protien and if I don't feel like eating I will drink 3.

AWESOME Turkey and brussel sprout meatballs
I just started soft/purée both in one stage and it took me two weeks to get there 2 days of just clears, then 12 days of thick liquids and now this. It's nice but I still live on protein shakes it's easier for me. I ate more today though. 1/2 egg, tbs of turkey sausage and Tbs of cheese for breakfast, I got most of that down. Then for dinner I had 2oz of refried beans, 1 tsp sour cream , 1 tsp of hummus, and 1 tsp of salas. It's good it just takes forever to eat. I drink my water and 2 shakes for my protien I'm a good job do-er today! Oh and my first day of "real" food is thanksgiving!! And I didn't even plan that! Boom!

THE PROCESS
@@taweedeegirl Your process length is going to depend on your insurance company. I started mine middle of July and was sleeved beginning of November....roughly 3 months w/o any issues. If you have issues it can drag out.

Is this normal? 2 days post op
@@kelseycakes20 YES!!! I don't understand why some DR don't dont do this as a routine order??! Crazy to me! I take mine every morning, one a day, and if I forget I'm quickly reminded with symptoms like yours. As long as I take it I'm golden. If I were you I would put in a call and ask. They may tell you something different and then again it may really help you.

Caffeine
@@MamaTo3inNH Willpower is a heck of a thing! Before my surgery I literally lived on coffee and maybe 16oz of water for fluids...ridiculous! When I found out I couldn't have it anymore I just quit. No sense in chancing misery while trying to recover. On the plus side if you do get headaches now you can take medicine for it. I thought I would get headaches but I didn't. I don't even miss coffee anymore (unless I see a Starbucks then I kinda do but I just think of the SUGAR) So the choice is yours either way I wish you luck!

Struggling with fears... normal?
@@Vad1988 I think almost everybody has those same fears, you can literally read that subject line in here everyday. It's a big decision I am sleeved, I've had no issues and I feel beyond blessed to have it. Everyone is different everybody's "journey" is different. It's is a lot of unknown that you won't know unless you do it. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't thats a decision you have to make for yourself but no your not alone with those feelings. If you do decide to take that plunge I would do extensive research on the band.......
