Prior weight loss atempts?
@@nmsugirl06 Have you called BCBS and asked them what your exact requirements are? If not you should defiantly do that. Most surgeons deal with multiple insurance companies so it's good to know your insurance process. Maybe that will help with your frustrations. Ask them all the questions you have. Make sure they clarify everything you need to know. I hope that helps.

Prior weight loss atempts?
@@nmsugirl06 Will they count that as one? Thats so odd that they would want two supervised diets in one year from you. How many people actually do that? Most of us try to diet on our own. I never would have been approved if that were the case.

Prior weight loss atempts?
@@nmsugirl06 I have BCBS fed and all I had to do was list the diets I had tried. Do you have to do the 3 month supervised "diet" check in with the nutritionist once a month for 3?

What am I doing?
@@Eclectick oh I would stop that if I were you. You may be doing ok right now staring at food but that could end up badly. You don't need that temptation in your life right now. Unless your looking at recipes you can have after surgery....but I couldn't even do that w/o being hungry. Food images are a trigger, a dirty little sneaky trigger and you don't want that!

Pre op diet!
Oh I did . I don't even eat McDonalds normally but my "last fat meal" was a Big Mac and large fry . I don't know why I picked that out of all the food but it just seemed "right"'. I was having Mini food funerals for about two weeks though. Of course now none of those foods are appealing. I didn't have to lose weight though. In fact I had to gain 8lbs in order to qualify mainly due to my height since I had no comorbidities.

Hello!
@@Big_Mama Well I was in the hospital two days, came home and was in more pain than in the hospital so after 2 days my surgeon upped My pain meds and I was much better after that. I would say at 1 week I was good. I was driving and back at class that Next Monday. I'm exactly two weeks out today and it's almost like it didn't happen. Except for food, I can't tell I had surgery when I go to eat

I am also making a ricotta bake, just part skim ricotta cheese, 1 egg, Italian seasoning and a thin layer of marinara. Just bake it at 350 for 30-40 mins. I will divide it up in my 2oz cups, keep a few out and freeze the rest. You should be able to eat that.....I could just go on and on! I love to cook, I didn't think I was going to get to cook like this after surgery but I was wrong. It's fun making recipes and adjusting the ingredients to fit my new eating style. @@nikki9

Recipes
@@nikki9 Do you like meatballs? I have mine in the crockpot rt now. I used 1lb of ground turkey, 1/2 lb of 93% lean ground beef, 1egg, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic, chopped onion, red bell pepper , and fresh parsley in the ninja so super tiny. I rolled it Up and baked them in the oven @ 375 for 25 mins then put them in my mini crockpot with marinara sauce and olives. I will cook them on low overnight. They should be super soft but if not you Could blend them up with a little bit of the sauce. I got plain marinara because it has less sugar than regular sauces. If you make them make sure you check labels some spaghetti sauces have a lot of sugar in them. These are high in protein, and no bread crumbs. They held together perfectly w/o bread.

I just started soft/purée and My first food was crab cakes. Real crab, mayo, 1 Egg, chopped onion and parsley, tsp on mustard and I sprinkled low sodium O Bay seasoning. I don't have measurements I'm a scratch cook so I just mix it until it looks right then I broiled them for 15 mins. They are really good. I'm not sure how much protein? Very little carbs just a few in the crab. No breading. I could only eat a couple bits but it was good
