antibiotics?
Post op I was told I could take pills that were no bigger than an M&M...that being said, I was told I have H.Pylori and would need to take a round of antibiotics. I was told they can be hard on the stomach, so they suggested I wait until I'm at least 4 months post op before taking them, but I could go ahead and take them now if I wanted.

Time off work?
I pretty much used all my paid time off for pre-op appointments/procedures, and I didn't really want to lose any pay. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work half a day that Friday (desk job) then Full time the following week. I was one of the fortunate ones that had no pain though. Best of luck!!!

Fage yogurt question
I had seen before several people who ate it to get some extra Protein in. I bought some and do not really care for the taste. For those of y'all who eat it, what do y'all add to it if anything to make it taste a little better?

December sleevers
Sleeved 12/16. Seems like several of us went through a long stall! Mine lasted a little over 3 weeks. Thankfully I'm back to losing again, because I was starting to get discouraged. Dropped 3 lbs in 2 days Had an appointment on Friday and they said they expect me to lose at least 15 lbs if not more by May. Really hoping I don't have another 3 week stall between then!!

H. Pylori Infection
I was told at my first post op visit that I have it as well. I don't start my medications for 3 more weeks though. They said the meds can be hard on the tummy so they wanted to make sure I'm eating well before starting them.

Super HEAVY period
Not sure if it's normal, but my first period after being sleeved was horrible! I don't think I've ever passed so many clots and lost so much blood! Hoping my next one is better!!!!

Dec. 15th anyone?
Benji I do get it, but only if I forget to take my pepcid. I had it before surgery so it's nothing new here.

How did you feel after EDG?
I too pretty much spent the rest of the day sleeping after mine. My throat was also really sore for a day or two.

Any one got a Plateau around week 3,4?
Glad to hear this is common! I was sleeved Dec. 16th and I too have been at a stall and was wondering what I was doing wrong!

Was anyone sleeved outpatient?
Mine was outpatient as well. I think my surgery was around 9:30-10am and I was home by 8pm (I live a little over an hr away from the hospital) I was very fortunate though and had no pain of any kind. I went in knowing I was going to have outpatient surgery, but they told us ahead of time it's possible we might have to stay depending on how we're doing afterwards. Best of luck!!!

Early period?
Yep, My surgeon told me not to be alarmed if it did come early. I'm 17 days post op and have been expecting mine, but hasn't come yet. Like you, I'm like clockwork, so it's frustrating not knowing when it's gonna come!!

10 days post op
I agree with Elode. I would gag and have to force down just about any type of powdered Protein. I started buying the premier ready made shakes and haven't had any problems. Each shake is 11oz and has 30g of protein so I only have to drink 2 a day. They can be a little pricey though. I started buying the 12pks from Sam's Club and they're a little cheaper. I'm 14 days post-op and like you, struggled with wanting to eat something. My surgeon said I could eat the green heart label creamed soups so I've been doing tomato Soup and that seems to help my cravings some. I still have 1 more week before I can start pureed foods and have been counting down the days. You can do it!!!!!

Liquid Diet help!
Drink lots of Water and if you have a family to cook for, pass the responsibility onto someone else if you can. The hardest part for me was cooking and knowing I couldn't eat!!! You can do it!! Best of luck

Allergic reaction to tape
Thanks for the quick replies! Did it spread to your incisions/staples? I guess that's reallly what I'm worried about. Thank goodness I get staples out Wednesday morning!!

Allergic reaction to tape
Two days ago I started with a little rash on my belly shaped like a square like the dressing they used on me post op. Yesterday it started spreading (I had 6 of those dressings on my belly) and today itching like crazy. I was told I could take liquid benadryl and use anti-itch cream this morning, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Anyone else deal with this? If so how long before it went away??

Today's my day!
Went back to work today 6 days post op. I work 9 hr shifts so was pretty worried, but made it through without any problems! I've been struggling to get my fluids down, but had no problem at work When I was at home I would nap a lot I guess? Anyhow, have another 9 hr shift tomorrow then 2 days off then a 4 hr shift Friday. I work for a small company, so there was no way I could take off because there wouldn't be another nurse to cover me so I'm extremely blessed that I've had such a great surgery experience!!
