Sleeved on 12/16-Very Sore
I too was sleeved on the 16th and have lots of soreness on my left side. Like ProjectMe, I've noticed each day getting better. What I'm struggling with now is being gassy after drinking my Protein. It isn't painful, just uncomfortable and the gas x strips aren't helping much

Dec. 15th anyone?
I came home with the shots as well. Mine are only once a day for 10 days.

18 year old preparing for sleeve
I agree, it will all depend on your insurance company and your surgeons requirements. I went for my first visit in July and didn't get sleeved until 12/16. My insurance wouldn't cover it so I was self pay and it still took that long. Best of luck!!

My VSG is on 12/17 anyone around the same date?
Bsfwife, I've been reading several posts because I struggle with getting my liquids down also and it seems to be the norm. The past 2 days I was averaging around 30 oz. I'm striving to get more in tonight, but I feel so full already! Just keep working on it. We'll eventually get there!!!!

Today's my day!
My surgeon gave me the option of going home since I was doing so well. I've actually done pretty well. I still feel a lot of soreness around my larger incision, but other than that I've been good. I haven't had to take any pain medication since Wednesday. I was expecting to feel a lot worse since along with getting sleeved, my gallbladder was removed and I also had a hernia repair.

Today's my day!
Thanks everyone! Surgery was done and I was back to my room by lunchtime. I had very minimal abdominal or gas pain. Was discharged and home by 8pm last night. Once I got home my belly got really sore and I started having some gas pains. Nothing I can't handle though Again, thanks for all the well wishes!!!!

Dec. 15th anyone?
Just wanted to give a quick update. Surgery was over and was back in my room at lunchtime. Had very minimal gas or pain all day long. Was discharged and home at 8pm. Once I was home my belly started feeling a little sore and gas hit. Nothing I can't handle though. Good luck to those who are getting sleeved today!!!

Woke up at 4am, showered, fixed kids school lunches and fixing to head to the hospital within the next 30 minutes! I thought I'd be a lot more nervous than I am, but I'm fine lol (I'm sure it'll hit once I get to the hospital) . Anyhow, Good luck to everyone who's getting sleeved today. Will try and update whenever I get the chance

Caffeine withdrawal headaches. Shoot me now
I'm a nurse as well and practically lived off caffeine. I had to give it up on 12/2 when I started my pre-op diet and I had 3-4 horrible days of headaches. I took the tylenol which I was allowed (although it didn't help any) and went to be super early almost every night. I'm now 12 days without it and don't miss it at all. You can do it!!!

Caffeine withdrawal!
My surgery is 12/16 and I'm on day 6 of pre-op diet. I was very addicted to sodas before. The first 3 days were horrible. I pretty much took tylenol for headaches, but it didn't help much so the first 3 days I was in bed by 8pm. Luckily, day 4 was a lot better. Since stopping the sodas I actually feel a whole lot better! Best of luck to you!!!

Dec. 15th anyone?
My surgery is on the 16th and I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet. The shakes are getting a little easier to get down (lots of gagging in the beginning). It's still really tough having to cook for my family and not being able to eat though, but I'm hanging in there. My husband will be home from work Tuesday and he'll feed them before I get home from work, so hopefully the rest of the days will go without problems. I forgot to weigh myself before I started the pre-op diet, but I can definitely see some loss in my face and my pants are fitting a little looser!!! Good luck to everyone...we can do this!!!!

December 16th Surgery Date!
Wow Tim, I'm jealous All I'm able to have besides the Protein shakes are sugar free Jello and popsicles and 1/2 cup of low sodium chicken broth. I've been managing ok so far, but my tummy has been growling all day long!! Going to try and keep full with Water this afternoon to see if it helps any.

December 16th Surgery Date!
I'm being sleeved on the 16th too and start my pre-op diet today. Kinda nervous!!! I think I'll be ok about the not being able to eat food part, but the sodas are going to be the hardest. I'm seriously addicted!!!! Good luck to both of y'all

Taking gallbladder out during sleeve surgery?
When I had an ultrasound done on my gallbladder, I was told I have sludge and that they recommend me to go ahead and have it removed. I still haven't made the decision yet. Like some of the previous posters, I'd really hate to have another surgery, so am leaning towards having it removed.
