  1. Fantastic Voyage by Lakeside and Party Train by the Gap Band keeps me moving!!!
  2. Slimgal 2015, the amount of insulin that you take will hinder your weight loss. Before my surgery, I was taking over 400 units of insulin per day (R&N combined).......now i take about 120. I have good weeks and bad weeks. In 17 days on the liquid diet, I took NO insulin and lost 30 pounds.....YES 30 lbs!!!! I started soft foods and had to start taking insulin again....not as much tho. I have lost an additional 38 lbs in 9 weeks of being on regular food. Not exactly big numbers.....but hey a loss is a loss, right???? Some tips for you......increase your calorie intake to 800-1000. ALWAYS have a carb with your Protein. Make your carbs match the insulin that you take not visa versa. Try to exercise more....diabetes hates exercise!!!! Good luck to you!!! May GOD give you the strength to lift your head high and complete your journey!!!!
  3. I had to put my rottie Ace down a year and a half ago. My ex told me that I loved him more than I did my kids.....well, he was one of my children AND always there for me. I am so sorry for your loss, Kindle.
  4. New whey makes a liquid Protein that comes in a 3.8 oz bottle that has 42 grams of protein. It comes in many flavors. I mix it with a similar flavor of crystal light or mio and kill 2 birds with one stone.
  5. @ Annie 77, if you are feeling weak.....up your protein intake!!
  6. #1 it is totally 100% unhealthy!! It is virtually impossible to stay in that range. 3 Protein shakes a day would give you between 480 and 900 calories a day depending on which brand you use.
  7. I know it is different for men and women but I easily get in 100grams of Protein a day. I buy New whey liquid Protein. It has 42 grams of protein per a 3.8 fl oz bottle. $2.68 a bottle a walmart. It comes in different flavors and I mix it with crystal light mio or propel of similar flavor. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  8. Hey.....check out going to Monterrey. They have better deals than Tijuana!! GOOD LUCK!!!
  9. Don't buy anything for home post-op and I say this because your taste buds change after surgery. Before surgery I loved the liquid Protein shots. I mixed them with my crystal light, and BOOM I had 42 grams of protein. Now I cant stand any of them.....so I wasted $125. Good luck finding what works for you!!
  10. 14 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty awesome!!! Be positive and happy NOT negative!!!!
  11. Actually, alot of it is from your 2 month absence from the gym. It takes alot longer to get into shape than it does to fall out of shape. Start back slow, don't try to push yourself. Treat it as if you were going back to the gym for the first time in years not months. And most importanly, remember that anything that you do physically is an accomplishment and beats sitting at home watching tv. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY AND DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
  12. I try to eat a Protein and a carb at Breakfast lunch and dinner. Then I have a Protein shake in the afternoon for a snack and at night i have a SF popsickle or two. I get between 80-100 grams of protein and 50-60 carbs a day.
  13. I had egg drop Soup.. it is clear liquid and Protein.
  14. I dont want to be the bearer of bad news...but it depends on how bad of a diabetic you are. I am type 2 and I am insulin dependent. The first 2 weeks after surgery when I was on a liquid diet.....i took NO insulin. When I started adding food back into my diet.....my blood sugars started creeping higher and higher. So it was back to the insulin. Im not using near as much....but I am still using. Good luck in your journey!!!
  15. My NUT told me to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. Is that because Im a man?? Ive lost 42 lbs total, 27 in 5 weeks since surgery. My first week out, I lost 15 and since then 12 lbs in 4 weeks.
  16. Are you using a liquid or powdered Protein?? If you are using powder.... Increase it to 2 scoops....also add a cup of strawberries or peaches....they have the lowest amount of calories and carbs. Make your Protein shake thick and eat it with a spoon....its more filling that way. Good luck to you!!!!!
  17. I don't think that neediness is gender based. Some men are needy.....some women are. It just depends on their personality. The first date mentioning "WE" is not really a sign of neediness in my opinion....its a sign of lonliness and desparation. Keep looking and have fun dating......MR RIGHT will come along when you least expect it
  18. After a week out I told my NUT that I was hungry and she told me to start on soft foods. try 1 egg with 1 starch like 1 pkg of cream of wheat, oatmeal, or grits if you like them. It hit the spot. Use your Protein shake as a snack.
  19. I am 5 weeks post op. I am having major weight fluctuations from week to week. I went on soft foods as per my NUT and I gained back 7 lbs in a week. She told me to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day and get 80-100 grams of Protein a day.......the majority of that coming from food..... not a Protein shake. This week I lost 6 lbs. I am just confused and not sure as to what is going on. Most days, I get in between 800-1100 calories, get in my protein, drink about 1.5 liters of Water and walk 2-5 miles a day. Is this normal?? PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks everyone!!
  20. The Note4 is an awesome device!! I too had the Note 2 and my son had the Note3 so when my upgrade came available, I jumped at the chance for the Note 4. And Melody, I spent a whole day trying to figure that out and never could.......so i just write it down in my journal. Sorry I couldnt be of more help to you!!
  21. I was muscular and athletic until my mid 20s. Got married and didnt have time to work out or play ball......then I started driving a truck.
  22. My taste buds certainly changed after surgery. Just the smell of warmed up broth made me wanna puke. When I get the head hunger......I fix myself of cup of either orange and spice or apple and spice tea and my head hunger is gone. Good luck to you!!!
  23. I've never had a pacemaker put in but I did have a double bypass a few years ago. The only thing that I would do in the gym is get on the treadmill and walk. Congrats on not gaining any weight while you were sick!!! That itself is such an awesome feat!!! I would follow your doctor's orders....and as far as kicking back up on the right diet.....I would start out with soft foods that are high in protein!!! GOOD LUCK on your recovery!!! my prayers are with you!!!
  24. 15 grams of Protein is a little on the low side when there are so many more out there that have 20-30 grams per scoop. But ultimately, it boils down to your tastes and what your sleeve can handle. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  25. Casey, I am almost 4 weeks post-op and doing great. I went to Mexico to have my surgery and the only issue I had was that the anesthesia that they used made me nauseated for about 24-30 hrs. 48 hours post surgery, I went walking in Tijuana and logged 5.2 miles and even went to the casino and gambled away a few pesos. The next day, I went with another group shopping and walked another 4.6 miles. I have lost 41 total and gone a size in my jeans. Eating and drinking too fast is still an issue for me.......I am trying to slow down and take it easy.
