Can anyone tell me about Monster Muscle Protein drinks
It is a casein & whey blended product. casein is a phosphoprotein made from mammalian milk. It has 12g of carbs per scoop. most of the people I know that use it are powerlifters and bodybuilders because they need the extra carbs and calories to burn. it has 180 calories per scoop which really isnt THAT bad. If you like the taste of it and it works for you....thats all that matters. I use New Whey liquid Protein which has 42g of protein, 180 calories and it comes in a 3.8 oz bottle and comes in many different flavors. I mix it with flavored sugar free crystal light and sip on it all day. And I use body fortress whey protein that 20 g of protein and 130 calories per scoop. I mix it with a little frozen fruit and almond milk and make a smoothie. Hope this was a little bit of help to you!! GOOD LUCK on your journey!!!

Mexico Bariatric Center
@cynthiarn2000, my surgery is next thursday in Tijuana, Mexico. I think mexico bariatric center and specialized bariatrics are the same company. I know my co-ordinator works for both of them and they have all the same doctors, use the same hospital, and motel. @ Pinkbunnies, best of luck to you tomorrow and we will definitely be looking forward to reading your update!!

Exercise
I agree that walking is probably the best. I have noticed the heavier I've gotten over the past 2 years, the worse it has gotten. I guess I will have to invest in an ice machine and a few more heating pads and just man up and do it and get this weight off!!

Exercise
I am curious to know what everyone PRE sleeve is doing for exercise. There's not a lot that I can do that doesn't cause me alot of pain and discomfort. Any suggestions????? just a brief lil history: I've had 1 open heart surgery, 3 back surgeries, broke my foot 3 times in 1 year so they had to put a screw and wire in my foot to keep it from breaking again and 4 knee surgeries( 2 on each knee). HELP!!!!!

Does a gym REALLY make a difference vs working out at home?
this has been a really good thread to read with all the different viewpoints. Just a quick story about fitness equipment at home. 3 1/2 years ago, I had open heart surgery. it was a wake up call for getting into shape. So after doing cardiac rehab for 6 months, I invested in a elliptical that I so dearly loved riding. Bought a really nice on like they had at cardiac rehab.......for $7500. I kid you not.....I used it for maybe 6 or 7 times. I slipped off it one day and broke my foot and never got on it again. Last month, I sold it for $4700 and that's how paid to have my sleeve done and for all my other expenses to get to Mexico.

When you can't even be honest with yourself
@ Kindle.....very well said!!!

What are you telling people at home and at work?
@vsgcrystalg........I don't remember specifically mentioning YOUR name in a post....or CALLING YOU OUT!!!! I was merely stating MY opinion and MY thoughts about whether or not to tell the truth about whether you had WLS or not. I wasn't intending to TARGET you or anyone else for that matter. My point was simply WHY LIE ABOUT IT?? However, IF you so choose to take it that way....FINE!!! I am NOT one to judge you or anyone else on this website cuz I don't live in a glass house.

What are you telling people at home and at work?
@VSGAnn2014......why shake your head?? Is it ok to lie about anything?? Why lie about it?? If someone asks you and you don't wanna tell them.........tell them it is none of their business........a person is under NO obligation to tell anything to anyone......but why lie?? I guess it about morales, values, and character. I was taught NOT to lie, regardless how big or little it was.

When you can't even be honest with yourself
@@FairySleeve, bottom line is that YOU are losing the weight by YOURSELF.....the WLS was just a tool. Just like people who use the gum, medication or patches to quit smoking. I smoked for almost 30 years 1-3 packs a day and I quit COLD TURKEY!!! Do I knock people who have to use the gum, patches or prescription drugs to quit....NO....I am just glad for them that they quit. Don't let you sister in law belittle your acomplishments!!!

When you can't even be honest with yourself
@ B-52.......how much weight did you lose if you don't mind me asking????
-
What are you telling people at home and at work?
True that you are under NO obligation to tell anyone your personal business. But what I don't understand is why lie about it???? If someone would lie about WLS what else would they lie about?? It makes that personlose character and seem less creditable. Is this person ashamed of having WLS?? Honestly, myself, I am more ashamed of letting myself go and getting myself into this position than stepping up to the plate and doing something about it There's alot of reasons why people become overweight. Medication.....depression for starters..... food is an addiction just like drugs, cigarettes, gambling and alcohol. I have beaten 4 out of the 5. I've been obese for 20 yrs....I've tried EVERY diet in the book and haven't been successful for very long. Research has proven that only 5% of people who lose any substantial amount of weight will gain it back in time. Hell, even if someone has WLS, they can gain it back in time!!!

11days out and not sure what the heck I'm doing!
If you have having issues with your Protein.....change brands. I use New whey liquid Protein that has 42 g of protein per 3.8 oz. It comes in many different flavors. I mix it with crystal light or sugar free kool aid and practice sipping on it all day long. Then I have 2 Protein shakes a day.......so I am getting 94 g of protein a day. There is also a unflavored Protein powder that has 30 g of protein per tablespoon and you can put that in your soups.

Help with this 3 week pre-op diet?
I would so stay away from the Protein bars....alot of extra calories and carbs. Burning more calories than you consume is the key to weight loss......not just eating healthy foods. Keep burning up those calories!!!!

When you can't even be honest with yourself
The thing about it is.....people that have known me for a really long time are gonna know that I had WLS or they're totally stupid. For me.....I have been fat for 20 years and now all of a sudden at 50 yrs old ...Im gonna lose at ton of weight......all by myself.......on my own......YEAH RIGHT!! I don't feel the need to justify it to anyone....Its my money and my body.

Does a gym REALLY make a difference vs working out at home?
it's basically what you prefer to do. I know for me, going to the gym is a better option because he makes me accountable. I know if I pay the $40 for the gym membership, that I will go because I just cant afford to throw away the money. And plus, the gym offers more equipment than most people have at home.
