Is anyone having a BIG weight fluctuation?

I am 5 weeks post op. I am having major weight fluctuations from week to week. I went on soft foods as per my NUT and I gained back 7 lbs in a week. She told me to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day and get 80-100 grams of Protein a day.......the majority of that coming from food..... not a Protein shake. This week I lost 6 lbs. I am just confused and not sure as to what is going on. Most days, I get in between 800-1100 calories, get in my protein, drink about 1.5 liters of Water and walk 2-5 miles a day. Is this normal?? PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks everyone!!

Are the foods you're eating laden with sodium? A little salt goes a long way, and a lot of salt can definitely cause a great deal of water retention.

Dont sweat it. Very important to keep up on your water. Everyone is different, but hold on tight. I have no doubt the train is ready to leave the station. If you stop loosing for two weeks straight then I would talk to your doc. But I really dont think that is going to happen for a while. Loosing weight is weird and the caloric numbers never seem to add up. Just stay on plan and it will happen.
