I take the Flinstones Multivitamin and Bariatric Advantage brand B12 and Calcium. The unflavored un jury Protein Powder isn't flavored so it isn't likely you'll get sick of it. Every Protein that I liked pre surgery I couldn't stand post surgery so be careful about buying anything flavored in bulk. There are a couple of forums on here where people have posted long lists of Protein Drink recipes so that should help you out.

If I remember correctly it was 4 weeks before I could submerge in Water. But your surgery team will let you know! Congrats on your pre-surgery weightloss! Good luck!

I eat 5-6 mini meals per day per my surgeon's recommendation, so each meal is essential a snack. I just make sure that each meal is Protein first, vegetable second, and a carb if I have room. I keep the calories of each meal at 200-250. My surgeon calls this "punctuated grazing".There are times that I will eat something in between, it is usually a piece of reduced fat cheese or some peanuts.

It has been 4 months to the date since my surgery. While at the gym this morning I weighed myself - 95 lbs. lost since surgery! I feel so much better It would have been really great to hit the 100 lb. mark at 4 months but who's complaining. The support I get from family and friends, and especially here has been awesome. Here's to the next 4 months!!!

I have difficultly getting in enough calories (4 months out) and I cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners. My doc said its fine to drink regular Gatorade which I Water down because otherwise I find it much to sweet. Before when I was just drinking water I found myself getting very lightheaded and low energy, the Gatorade has helped me a lot.

This is such a huge milestone for me. I'm not at goal yet and still have about 20 lbs to go but... I've lost a hundred pounds!! Had my band taken out and the sleeve done on the same day last year December 30th. I feel so much better even though I have my battle wounds. I'll likely have to have my arms done at some point but for now I'm in a size 8 and I am very proud of myself. Thank u for being here for me along the way.

Good evening all my fellow sleevers, and sleevers to be...
I have been reading a lot of the posts on this site, and although there are many people here that offer positive reinforcement to others, I see much, much more of the self negativity.
If you stop and think for just a second, who is your biggest cheerleader? Who is your biggest fan? YOU ARE!!!
Too many people speak too much negativity into their own spirits about what they can't do or think they can't do. My mother (God rest her soul) always said to me, "Don't tell me what you can't do, tell me what you CAN do". All of us have very difficult struggles ahead of ourselves, whether you are pre or post op. We MUST starting speaking more positivity to ourselves. We need to tell ourselves, "Yes I'm going to make it through the next 2 weeks of a liquid only diet". "Yes, I'm going to walk for at least 10 minutes everyday". Everything you say to yourself should start with, "I can or I will". ONLY POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS!!
If you tell yourself, you can't, you won't, or even I don't know, its not going to happen because you're beginning with a defeatist attitude. Speak positivity to yourself, say it out loud so your brain and your subconscious hear you claim the positive affirmation. You will be shocked when you realize how strong you really are, but you've always started the race 2 paces behind the pack because you started doubting yourself before you even got started.
Start building your "new self esteem" NOW! You won't have time later on because you'll be too busy LOOKIN' GOOD!!!
You CAN, You WILL, I CAN, I WILL... Let these words be your mantra. Just remember fear and self doubt bring failure and disappointment. We have all experienced too much of those in our lives already. Remember this... "Insanity" is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. Let's start today doing something different, expecting a POSITIVE result!
Thank you for your gift of time!.... Michelle

I am 7 weeks out and 40 lbs down. In Nov 2015, we are renewing our vows on a beach in Galveston, a place where I spent much of my childhood and is very special. So I took a chance and on a whim bought a dress that I have no idea will fit. But it is a vintage 1940s dress, and in today's sizing, a large. I could not pass it up.  I have all the faith that I can make it as I have gone from size 22 pants to size 16. It was crazy and impulsive. But I can't contain my excitement so I went for it. Spread your wings and fly, everyone! Love to all of you from Texas!

Lots of good points here! Everyone's reasons for telling or not telling are personal and they are entitled to that! I like the idea of this forum because we all have something in common and we should be able to speak freely about weight loss surgery! Unfortunately, there's still ridicule and wagging fingers if things aren't done exactly how some think it ought to be done.
Just because I choose not to share my truth doesn't in any way shape or form mean I'm lying to myself. And just because I had WLS does not mean I'm obligated to be an advocate for it. WLS isn't some big secret that people don't know about. If it's something they are interested in they will find their way without me introducing the procedure to them. If I am in a conversation where one shares their interest in having it done, I will share my experience.
We've all gone through a lot to be where we are. No matter where you are in your journey, be proud of yourself for taking control of your life. Don't allow anyone to shame you for your decisions. Good luck to everyone!
