I feel good but I have this terrible pain in my shoulder from the gas. i tried taking gas x it made me sick at mt stomach. I have tried a heating pap and a mussle vibrator. HELP at times it is almost unbearable.

Well if I do I will eat Lean Quisen's and vegatables for the rest of my life. I feel like if I can get it off I can keep it off.Look at all the people that have lost weight without the band.Not all put it back on.If you keep up the things that you have learned you could keep it off.I almost chickened out of my surgery(THURSDAY) because I was reading things that made me scared to even get the band. Why go threw this if it is not with me for life. Someone posted that this is a support group that people come to when they are having problems. We are not hearing from the thousands of HAPPY bansters.They do not need a support group, they are at goal and doing fine.My husbands ex and her sisters were banded years ago and they are is fine. I hear of alot of gastric bypass patients putting thier weight back on .

My BMI is 35 and I had surgery yesterday. Insurance paid for it. Do you have any health problems?

Hi I was banded yesterday. I have not had problems getting liquids down.Make sure you have Gas X Liquid, pain meds and something prescription for nausa.I am having pain in my shoulder and neck from the gas they use during surgery. I had bought at Walmart a little pillow with a vibrator in it. IT HAS BEEN A LIFESAVER. You may also need a heating pad.I have a back and shoulder with heat massager it has helped alot.I am sore somewhat but the gas pain is the pits.My lower stomach is growling but my upper stomach is not hungry. Weird. Lots of luck it was not that bad.

Im back from Houston. Had my surgery yesterday.Everything went well.I am hurting some not to bad. The worst thing was the man in the room next to me DIED he had gastric Bypass and he had heart problems. That was so sad.

I think is name was Matt. The big guy that used to have curly hair. Nice guy BIG hearted.If it couldnt be Susie I am glad he won.

I am leaving for Houston tommorrow and will be checking in at 6 am Thursday at Rennisance Hospital.Wish me luck.I am a little nervous.

Great glad to here that it worked and you did not have to have surgery again.

Right after I got approved the Doctors office called and wanted to know if I wanted to do it the next week.I needed time to get my head right.I was still like a deer in the headlights from getting approved.Take your time this is not something that you just jump into.It takes alot of mental preparation. I found out it is best to stop taking all herbal sups and asprin, ibuprophin, tylenol, alcohol ,smoking at least two weeks before surgery. Do you have a support group in your area? If so go take to them see what life is like after WLS.Take time ti get your self prepaired for this LIFE CHANGING event. My surgery is Thursday I have been approved for two months.

Mine will be at weeks six also.I am having surgery Dec 1st.

You are talking about the old Melina band.My husbands ex has had one for the last ten years.She seems to be doing ok. She is about a size 12-14. I heard they rust??????

For those that do not live where there is a clothing exchange. Yard sales and resale shops. Girls you would be amazed. I got almost new jeans for a dollar a pair or less.I went back before she closed and got some for less than a dollar. Dress clothes at a resale shop are reasonable.You can sell your larger clothes there to. I have size 20-22 dress clothes and semi-formals.

I have a friend that is in a nursing home at Age 42. She has many health problems because of her weight and is in a wheel chair. She is unable to have the surgery because she could not get them to pay for it. They would rather pay for a nursing home till she dies ????

Surgery is next week.I seeing all these people having problems with the band.I feel so bad for them and it has me very worried. This is my one chance with the insurance company.I hope I have made the right choice picking the band over the gastric.Who has had the band the longest???? My husband's ex still has her old Melina band.Is this band better for us or does it just make the doctors more money? There seems to be alot of kinks to work out. Remember my daughter is having it done in January.

Glad you did well Big Paul.My surgery is Dec 1st. I am not looking forward to clear liquids. A frend told me about a product called Herb ox it is a powder chicken broth she said it was very tasty.
