lovingdavid reacted to bellabloom in Dating
I started dating about six months after. It was hard. I'm still dating and afraid of taking my clothes off because dressed I look perfect but my body is pretty flawed. Just have to find the right person I guess.
I always think I have to be perfect.
Be careful dating after surgery. It's easy to get in over your head because so much has changed.

I'm eight months out from surgery and have surpassed my initial weight loss goal. I may lose a little more. I'm trying to talk myself into maintenance but it's hard to make that transition
I'm 35 years old. Sw: 250. Cw:123. Height 5'6
Then:
At 130 lbs:
I've lost a bit more now. Definitely very close to the least I want weigh.

1to 2 months post op and 8 to 9 months post op respectively. My wife is down 130 lbs and I am down 111 lbs since pre-surgery diet. Feel good especially when shopping for clothes. I went from 3X shirts and 52" waist to this past weekend getting into Large for shirts and 36" jeans. Keep up the good work all

lovingdavid got a reaction from Painter Girl in What do you tell people?
Some friends know and few family members because I rather it be like that. Yes we don't need people's approval but people can be rude about surgery. I think if people ask you can tell them the truth only if you feel comfortable telling them. That's how I feel.

Well make sure you walk right after surgery.. I did that the same day and felt great. The sleeping was a bit hard because I slept on my tummy so try to start sleeping on your side to get use to that. Also, drink slowly afterwards because you don't want to feel sick if you drink to fast. But mainly walk walk ????. I had a smooth and no complications after surgery. Everyone is different the only thing was the gas for me but it wasn't that major.

So I just felt like I needed to acknowledge and Celebrate that 1 year ago I made the best decision of my life! I chose to become a happier and healthier version of myself! Throughout my journey I have had ups and downs, looking back now it was completely worth it! For years I struggled going up and down on the scale, starving myself, binging, trying every pill and diet out there, working out and exercising like crazy, only to fall off the wagon and gain it all back along with a few extra pounds! I got to the point (336 lbs). That I knew I couldn't do it alone! And I made the chose to have the sleeve! Today I'm a whole new person and a whole 121lbs lighter!!!!! It's so crazy to think it has already been a year, it feels like a few months! I can't say enough great things about the life I'm living now! If your just starting your journey I wish nothing but luck and happy vibes! You can do it and even when things look bleak remember that there is definitely a rainbow waiting for you on the other side!!

Info taken from fitbit website:
"While Fitbit devices are Water resistant, it’s not good to keep a wet band on your skin for long periods of time.
If your band gets wet—like after sweating or showering—rinse and dry it thoroughly before putting it back on your wrist.
Be sure your skin is dry before you put your band back on."
