  1. I have type II diabetics and sleeo apnea. I am taking half of my medication and my sugar went from an average of 240 to an average of 100. I also do not have to use my Cpap machine to sleep at night. I also walk 6 days a week for at least 3 miles sometimes more.
  2. Here is a link where Star Jones describes her gastric bypass surgery in Glamor Magazine. Star Jones Reynolds on gastric bypass surgery: "I'm ready to open up": Health: glamour.com
  3. I am staying on plan because it felt great not to gain weight after Thanksgiving.
  4. I had my surgery on 9-12-07, my first fill was on 10-24-07 1 cc. My second fill is on 12-10-07 For the most part I have restriction, I still get hungry but I think it more head hunger then anctual stomach hunger. My main problem prior to being banded was overeating. Two to three times a week I would overeat especially from the hours of 7 to 12 at night. With the band I can no longer do that. I also get up every morning at 5:00 and go for either a 4 or 5 mile walk. Since I get up 2 hours earlier I go to bed between 9 & 10 at night so it helps a great deal with my tendancy to over eat. I eat my meals very slow, proteins first, veggies second and carbs if I am still hungry. I try not to drink for at least an hour after my meal and with my walking in the morning this has help with the weight loss.
  5. I have an appointment on December 10, to get my second fill. The first fill worked pretty well. For the first time in many years I actually lost weight over the thanksgiving weekend
  6. My wife and I were banded on the same day on 9-12-07. we have had one fill and we are doing fine. Since her sister lives with us they allowed us to have it done on the same day since we would have someone to drive us home. We stayed overnight and shared a hospital room and waved each other as we got up at different times to use the restroom and walk around.
  7. I would also like details on the arm rubbing thing.
  8. My wife and I were both banded on the same day on 9/12/07. Her sister lives with us so we would have someone to drive us home.
  9. Family members sometimes mean well but may say the wrong thing at times. I know that I told my mother and father an they are supportive. It is important to have a support group and I am hopeful that once you start on your new journey it will be easy to see how faithful you are to your own success.
