  1. I wonder how Tiffany is doing? I was really pulling for her the whole time and I'm glad she was able to get the surgery.
  2. Haha, me too! I at least tear up on every episode...I guess because it hits close to home. You really should. I love the show!
  3. Anyone been watching the show? I am soooo proud of Alan. I know he felt good when he walked in the pool. I can't even imagine not walking for 9 years (?). What an amazing accomplishment!
  4. Leslie, the Callaway Gardens Walk sounds great! Let me know what you find out. I do better with everything when I have a some sort of goal, so I think it's a great idea!
  5. YAY!!!!!! I was so happy when I heard who the winner was! I have to admit, I thought it was going to go the other way. BJean, I think you are right. Any of the contestants that get record deals are still bound to the AI, I think (?). I'm thinking I heard that somewhere? Whooooo Hooooooo!!
  6. My appointment is at 1:30. What time is yours?
  7. Yeah, Billie Jean was his best performance IMO. I do see his point about progressing though. Yeah, he could have done a song he previously performed and it would have been easier to do that. But he decided to do a new one and I commend him for that.
  8. I really enjoyed the show last night. I really want David Cook to win, but I have feeling that David A will win. I'm sure they will both get record deals anyway. Either way, I will be listening to David Cook.
  9. Leslie and Jeannie- you ladies look AMAZING!! I'm so proud of both of you. Keep up the good work!
  10. Hey everyone! I haven't been posting much lately. I've just been really busy. I haven't been doing very well with the exercise, but I did go the gym today and I feel really good. I really need to start making it a daily routine. I am going for another fill on Thursday. I am beginning to think I was a little too conservative with my fills. It was my choice to go really slow with it but they seem to only last a week or two. I have never PB'd or slimed and I know I have not hit my sweet spot yet. I have a total of 6.75cc in my band, I guess I'll ask for a .5cc fill this time. Maybe I'll hit my sweet spot soon... Ok everyone, lets get our BUTTS into gear!!
  11. Mia, I take ACTOplus Met. It's Actos and Metformin in one pill. I haven't had any stomach problems with it so far. I only take 500mg right now. The pill is kinda big, I usually take it at night (since my band is looser) and I usually slice it in half. As long as it's not time released, you can cut it up.
  12. YAY...it's still ALIVE!!
  13. BBK, glad you are starting to feel better. Sorry about your port. How far away is your lap band surgeon? If it's not that far, I would probably pop in and just let them look at it. It would at least put your mind at ease. I can't wait to see pictures......I just know you look phenomenal! Heck, you looked phenomenal before your surgery! Feel better and take it easy!
  14. It was awful, IMO! Just sounded like a bunch of yelling to me, not to mention the bad dancing. I think Simon's face said it all. Did ya'll notice his facial expressions near the end of her song......it was hilarious and priceless. He sure doesn't try to hide his true feelings.
  15. Yeah, I know. I drive 2 hours to see my Endo. Your endo will probably do massive bloodwork tests. When they drew my blood, I saw the list of test and there were A LOT! Mine has really helped me. I hope yours can help you too.
  16. I've never watched the 2 you mentioned, but I watch the Food Network all the time. They have competitive shows on there that I like to watch. I like Throwdown with Bobby Flay, The Next Food Network Star, not to mention all the challenge competitions. I watch Iron Chef sometimes, there are lot of times I would never eat the secret main ingredient. I still love to watch cooking shows though and I try to come up with healthier ways to cook some of things I really love.
  17. Today Burned- 2513 Consumed- 991 Deficit- 1522
  18. Thanks NukeChik......guess I shouldn't have been trying to "steal". Who knew copying and pasting was stealing, especially if it let you copy it??? Anyway, thanks for putting it up! Mamato3- As good as the picture looks, fries do not do well with my band either. It's too frustrating to try to eat them. I would much rather have the Bloomin Onion, yum! These types of food are EVERYWHERE here! Now I know how it was soooo easy to get so big!
  19. I think I've been calling it the wrong thing, it's ACTOplus met. Actos directly targets insulin resistance, and Metformins' primary act is to reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver. They work together to help manage blood glucose levels. I'm not really sure if it's better, but my Endocrinologist wanted to put me on it and it has worked really well for me. I'll have to look for the ice cream and see what's in it and the nutritional info. I have to be careful with sugar free stuff, especially if it contains Maltitol....it makes me sick and basically runs right through me.
  20. Thanks Brandy. Yep, that's me, your fellow PCOS'er! Oh, the joys of PCOS . I am on Actos Metformin (both in one pill). So far, it hasn't given me any problems. I hope the Metformin helps you. I started putting it on at the age of 18, by age 20 I was a whopping 270 lbs and it just went downhill from there. I'm so thankful I have my band to help me, God only knows where I would be without it!
  21. I have to say that most of the stuff on the list sounds really good to me. I'm gonna pull a "Jack" and post #1 on the list. I've had it before and it is soooooo good!
  22. I still think David Cook should win! Syesha has definitely improved the most, but I felt like she was trying to get by with "sex appeal" last night. I just can't believe out of all the songs out there, she would choose that one to perform. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice she was acting REALLY different last night, even her accent changed? Strange.... David A did good as well. Of course, he did good on his ballads but I am soooo bored with him. I applaud him for trying a more upbeat song, but I really didn't like it. I love the Chris Brown version (my DH has that song as my ringtone on his phone) and David's just wasn't believable to me, it didn't flow as well as the original. Not sure if anyone else noticed but I'm pretty sure he stumbled up on the lyrics. The judges didn't mention it but DH and I both know the song and we both looked at each other when it happened. He almost forgot the words and you could tell that he was trying to remember and the words were delayed. I applaud him for the way he handled it though, he covered it up well. I loved David Cooks first and last song. I was really disappointed in the song he chose. I love the song (I still remember that song from the movie "A Walk to Remember") but he was flat through the whole first verse and part of the middle. I wonder if he had a sore throat because I noticed he sounded more raspy than usual on the other songs too. Just a thought...
  23. Thanks Mia! I was glad to see you too. I'm so glad you got an earlier appointment. I know you were pretty upset about it. I know how you feel, stess really makes me want to eat too! I've always been an emotional eater and it's really hard when things aren't going right. Good luck with the pageant, I hope your daughter wins!!
  24. We sound like we are the same around TOM! I crave like crazy...it's ridiculous! For me, it's really hard to give up the sweets. I've always been a sweet eater. That's why I'm pretty sure if I was too tight, I would give into milkshakes, ice cream, etc. I have been slowly changing my eating habits and making better choices. It's just not something I can turn off like a light switch. It takes time. As far as drinking with meals, I have only broken that rule once or twice and it was only a tiny sip. I was eating Mexican both times and just needed a little sip of Water. It didn't make me sick at all. My doc said that drinking with meals would make your food go through quicker and you wouldn't stay full. I dunno, because I have read that many people do get sick when they do it. I guess that's just another example of how banding is so different with each person.
  25. Well Brandy, I honestly don't think I have gotten to my sweet spot yet. I currently have 6.75cc in my 10cc band. I do have some restriction, but I could definitely have more. I chose to take it slow with the fills and I don't regret it. Personally, I think if I had decided to be aggressive with my fills, I probably would have slipped into the slider foods. I am trying to get my head hunger under control and doing it gradually is right for me. Right now, I can eat 1/2c to 1 cup, depending on the food and the time of day. For me, I don't think I could just eat just a couple of spoonfuls at a time and lose weight because if I was that tight, I would probably resort to crap food that goes down easily. It really is something that's different from person to person. Who knows....one day I could be satisfied just eating a few spoonfuls, but for now, I prefer to take baby steps.
