  1. Julie- you are doing great! We have the same amount of weight to lose! I'm hoping I can do as well as you are doing!
  2. I think it's cool too! And I love the new format of this site, it is organized so much better than before.
  3. It's only been a little over 3 weeks, don't get discouraged yet. There are weeks that the scale doesn't move for me too, then all of the sudden I drop a few pounds. There are quite a few people on this site that have said they lose in spurts too. Just follow your surgeons instructions closely and give your body time to heal. How are you healing?
  4. Mindy, I am blessed with hair on my stomach too, lol. I made the mistake of shaving it too, and boy have I paid for it. The more I shaved it, the thicker it became. Ann, thanks for sharing that. I was hoping it would disappear when I have my LBL.
  5. Renewed, thanks for getting this started. It's just what I needed to help me get back on track and feel better. I've been a little down lately and I'm already feeling much better. Thanks!
  6. First thing this morning, I drank a huge bottle of water. I went to walmart this morning and bought some Low Carb Slim Fast shakes (Creamy Vanilla). I got the idea to add apple pie spice to it from Joanna240. I added the spice and ice to the shake and blended it in my magic bullet. It tasted pretty good, but I think I need to add more of the spice next time. So far I'm feelin good. I'm going to exercise on my elliptical machine during my son's nap today. It feels really good to get back on track. Let do this!
  7. Honestly, I've been too scared to try popcorn. I've read that a lot of people can't handle it and I'm too chicken to try it. I wouldn't want to even attempt eating popcorn from the movies, too much fat and calories IMHO. I know in the past, popcorn didn't fill me up at all. So if I attempted to eat until satisfied, I would probably eat it all. I think I'll just stay away from it, for now anyway.
  8. This is way cool!!!
  9. 2 hours seem a little too long. Most of the post that I've read about drinking post eating, is about 30 minutes to an hour. I would definitely ask about that again.
  10. My nutritionist said to definitely play with the spices.......no one wants to eat bland food. Have fun with it.......spice it up!
  11. I posted this on the monthly group thread, but I'll post it here too. joho, my heart goes out to you. My pastor has MS and he has had such a hard time with this. There are days he can't even get out of bed. He is about your age too. He resigned his position at church last Sunday because he feels he can't fulfill his duties anymore. The IV steroids really set him back each time he has to go on them. I really do feel for you and I know it must be so hard for you to deal with all the pains that come with MS and try to focus on losing weight. You are doing great with the weight loss. You sound like such a trooper and to have lost 28 lbs with all you've been through is amazing. You should really be proud of yourself for all your hard work.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> You really have had a roller coaster of a ride and my thought and prayers are with you. I hope things get better for you and you feel better soon. I'm sending out prayers for you. ((HUGS)) <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  12. Oh, I wanted to tell you that you are doing great with the weight loss. You sound like such a trooper and to have lost 28 lbs with all you've been through is amazing. You should really be proud of yourself for all your hard work.

  14. Hey Julie I've been craving sugar like crazy since the holidays. Tomorrow I am starting the cut sugar and carbs from my diet for a while, at least until I can shake these cravings. You're right, once I start eating these foods, I want more and more. I've been feeling so icky lately and I know it's because of my food choices.
  15. What size band do you have? 2 lbs a week is a normal healthy rate, most doctors want you to only lose 1-2 lbs per week. It sounds to me that you are doing really good. Talk to your fill doctor about the hunger, maybe you need another fill? Oh, I have 5cc in my 10cc band, I hope to be getting another fill on Wednesday.
  16. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful words of wisdom. I am feeling much better today and I appreciate all the feedback. You guys are great!
  17. I'll have to go and get some more protein shakes in the morning, I drank my last one this morning. I think I will buy the adkins shakes this time or the slim fast low carb ones.
  18. Time4me Ditto on #4, and you're right, not pretty to look at! Great NSV's- your weight loss is going great!
  19. Mia I agree with Jeannie, more protein, less bread. The diet says that you can have whole grain bread, but it would serve you well to start changing some of your habits now. Also, it would help you to start taking small bites and chew really really good, if you haven't already. I also started eating my meals without drinking too. I think it really helped me in the long run. You are doing great, you should be proud of yourself. Keep up the good work!
  20. Count me in too. I've been craving sugar like crazy since the holidays. What kind of protein shakes are you using?
  21. I'm not an expert at this because I haven't experienced this, but it doesn't sound like you are too filled because you can keep food down. Maybe your doctor could recommend a heartburn medicine for you. Make sure you are eating very slowly and chewing very well. Sometimes if I eat too fast or don't chew good enough, I feel pressure in my chest, but it only last a few seconds. Are you having heartburn all the time or just when you eat or drink?
  22. Do you have good restriction right now? Do you exercise? How many calories do you have a day? I know how you feel, I've been a little down too lately. Yesterday I started tracking my calories again at The Daily Plate and I started exercising again and I feel so much better. Sometimes we don't realize how many calories we are consuming until we write it down. They add up pretty fast. Don't be too hard on yourself. Let's figure out what the problem is and we'll go from there.
  23. Maybe you could take one day a week, when you're not busy, and cook some healthy meals up and freeze them in individual containers, that way you could just grab them and go.
  24. Congrats on all the NSV's Renewed! My DH is "interested" a lot now too lol. Comepickmeup- Believe me, I would be thrilled with my DD's if they sat where they are supposed too LOL. They also give me shoulder problems too. I want to be somewhere in the middle......like a nice C cup.
  25. Are you able to keep liquids and food down?
