Weigh in... how much have u lost?
I am eating....but a lot less. High Protien/Low Carbs and I try to not eat sweets, period. Sugars make me retain water as well as gain weight. No real exercise yet but I see that in my very near future. I was very lucky, I had full restriction by my 3rd fill, infact I had to have some removed (literally I could not swallow my own spit, sorry to be gross) Thanks for the kind words ladies!! I had forgotten how nice you all were! :blink:DH bought Twix, Reeses, Snickers and Almond Joys for Halloween....Has he lost his mind? I am going to be loading kids up tomorrow!! Please don't leave me alone with the good chocolate stuff!! No matter how tight you are ... Chocolate goes down smooth!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
It's been a long time since I've posted. Everything is going better than I dreamed! I've lost 65 lbs!! I can now shop (barely) in the non-plus size clothes. I am very excited but also very nervouse. I am not use to sucess with diets. It was actually hard to purchase those first pair of size 16's! And the uncoming holidays are worring me abit. I don't want to stop losing or heaven forbid gain any weight. Enough worrying..... I am really happy about my progress!!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
 Anyone having trouble with obsessively weighing yourself! The weight bouncing back and forth between 3 pounds is starting to mess with my head. Logically I know this is normal, however, it affects my attitude. I have gone 3 days without weighing. I am going to try and only weigh once a week ( or no more than 2 or 3 or 4 times, haha!)

Anyone in the DFW area?
Hi Phil! What was your 1st fill like? Did it hurt, feel funny or not much to it? Can you feel any difference yet? I get my first fill on Monday, I can not wait! Just in the last 2 days have I been able to eat more and I rather not. So I am very ready for some restrictions like the 1st 2 weeks. I like the staff also. It is nice that most of them have had the band and can talk to you from a personal experience. Good Luck, 37 pounds is a fantastic start!

Anyone in the DFW area?
Hi Shearbear! Some of the tickers you can click on and it will take you to tickerfactory.com (for some reason I can't with mine?) or you could just type in the address. Once you are there there is all sorts of ticker options. I used weight loss and then you pick your scale, your marker and put in data (starting weight, current weight & goal weight). You will need to copy and paste the bbcode to your signature. You will need to up date this with your weight changes as you go! I hope this helps!!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
Hey Terri! Don't be hard on yourself. When you had your surgery they pumped you full of liquids, this is what is looking like a weight gain. I lost 12 pounds the 1st week, however, I did not show any loss until day 5 or 6. Once it started showing up I was losing a couple of pounds a day for a few days.

Scared of baggy skin!!
I just got banded last week so loose skin is not a problem.....yet. I sure hope I am as successful as y'all so that I worry about loose skin! I am not much of a milk drinker but I think I might have to pick-up skim milk on the way home and look on Amazon for a firm cd. Preemptive Strike!!

I just got back from my 1 week post-op visit and offically I have lost 23 pounds during my 2 week pre-op diet and 1 week of liquids!! Not bad for a girl my age . May Banders???
I was banded last Monday and will have my post-op check-up this Monday and I will return to work the next day. Yesterday was my first really good day. I have some tenderness around my port and I still have throat spasms (feels like intense heartburn) but once I learned the cure, hot liquids, I can stop them as soon as it starts. Slept great last night for the first time and even slept on my sides! Not having any hunger and I am content with protein shakes and soup in the blender. No regrets and I can't wait till my 1st fill. :woot:

Starting my journey...would love some feedback!!!
Bandfan you are so sweet check in on me! This is my 1st really good day. 1st day, I mostly slept and did not drink enough. 2nd day I allowed myself to became dehydrated and had a really bad headache and nausea all day. My sister goes to the same Bariatric doctor (she was banded 3 years ago) and told the Nurse how I was feeling and they instructed me to sip nonstop all day, and I did. Day 3 & 4 I was having intense heartburn (so I thought) and by Thursday evening I was getting very worried. 1st thing this morning I called the doctor and they told me I was having esophageal spasm (charlie horse of the throat). It hurts pretty bad but is nothing to worry about. They advised me to drink warm tea when it start up and it has worked like a charm! I am feeling pretty good now. Even though I have not popped up as fast as some, I still have not had anything big go wrong. I am not hungry... and I do have to remind myself to get my protien in. My port site is tender but no big deal. I can't believe I really have been banded! I kept expecting it to not happen.

Post-Surgery Check-In
Well this is the 1st day I have felt like typing. I was Banded May12th, everything went fine. I was very neverous about having a cold but they did not call the surgery off. 1st day I slept, 2nd day I didn't drink enough and became dehydraged, major headache and nauseous. 3rd & 4th day had intenence heartburn & stomach pain. Called the doctor this morning and found out I was having esophageal spasms. Painfull but not serious. They told me to keep a cup of hot tea near me and sip it all day... and it worked! So I have had some discomfort but nothing serious. I can't believe I have been banded, for real!

gas or hunger pains
Called my doctor this morning and described my pain. They told me it was esophageal spasms. Painfull but not serious. They told me that I needed to drink warm liquids and walk. I have been keeping a cup of hot tea near me all day and I am cured! Feeling much, much better! I hope this help you also!

gas or hunger pains
I have a question about your orignal gas pain. I was banded on the 12th (4 day ago). I no longer have the gas pain in the shoulders and back, but, I do have a burning pain at bottom of my rib cage in the center. It feels like really bad heartburn and it is intense but only lasts a few seconds. This only started yesterday. Is this like what you have had? I think I'll call my doctor about it. If this is what you are feeling please let me know what worked best for you. thanks!

Banded Monday May12th
I was banded on May 12th too! I am feeling pretty good today, except, I am having what feels like intense heartburn. I plan on calling the doctor in the morning to make sure this is normal. Any of y'all have this feeling? I feel a little pregnant and I can not bend very well, but , considereig I had surgry only a few day ago... I feel pretty good.

I am scheduled for May
Tomorrow, the 12th, is my Band-day! I am very excited!! I would say I am not nervous at all, except.... I have a slight runny nose & mild sore throat. I think it is spring sinus, but I worry about it being a deal breaker. Plus I can't take all my good meds the day before surgery. Well everyone cross your fingers for me that the nose thing does not get any worse. This band is the first true hope I have had that I will actually lose all the weight I need to. Happy Mothers Day to all that are moms. My boys are the driving force behind me wanting this band. I want to be here and having a good time with them for a long, long time! Tomorrow is my Bandday!:welldoneclap:

Starting my journey...would love some feedback!!!
BandFan, thanks for the reasuring words. I can't believe this time tomorrow I could be back home and an official bandster! I guess my Mother day lunch will be my last big meal ( if I stay on top of my fills!). I really can't believe this is really happening. I have not truely believed I could lose all my weight since my 20's and now I know it really will happen with my band and this great support team! I appreciate your advice and I will be moving & walking around!

May Name
Shrinko-de-Mayo is for anyone getting banded in May 08! Some May bandsters have choosen the name May Flowers, and that is a great name too! Other bandsters, like myself, feel like the name Shrinko-de-Mayo suits them better. :frown: Viva la Shrinkos!

Being Banded on 5-21 anyone else with me??
I know you guys are excited! I am being banded on May 12th. Y'all should post your dates under "Support Groups", May 2008, we have a running list of everyone getting banded in the month of may. It is really neat hearing from all the may bandsters and some are already posting their surgery experience!

Post-Surgery Check-In
I am so happy to hear all these postive posts! It is so exciting for our month to finally roll around. I can't believe the people I used to post with about how to get insurance approval and then later watched them axiously awaiting approval are now telling us about their own experiences! I am so happy for all of us!

Calling all SHRINKO de Mayo's
Thanks Allison! I am on it!! Also..... I think I have attached my ticker to the wrong spot (signature?) I can not click on it to edit it. I have to delete the old and create a new ticker to show a change in weight ( I am losing a bit on my pre-op diet). However, I noticed that I can click on just about every one else's ticker. Once again.... any help is appreciated!!
