  1. Love my Band! I am actually 8lbs below my orginal goal! John 114 Donny 117 Danielle 80 Rebecca 45 Gaye 42 Ann 91 Tammy 52 Carrie 80 sapphire12305 78 Rose 59 :cursing: Denverlee 76 Minxz 48 Melissa 119 total = 1061
  2. Goal!! The band works for those who have tried everything and always failed!! 111.5 pound gone!! Can not put into words how happy I am, however, it also feels unreal! Will have to get use to not having over whelming diet goals. I have never had that in my adult life. woohoo! :w00t:
  3. Yesterday, I went to my yearly Diabetes check-up. I also needed to check my blood pressure because I had stopped taking my blood pressure medicine a month ago. My Blood pressure was (with no medication) 102/75!! And the doctor had to change my status to "NON-DIABETIC"! She said it is a rare treat to change a patient's status for the postive. My diabetes was the main reason I got the band. What a great day!
  4. Carrie_C, I try to never eat sweets, unless, it is a holiday or a special occasion. I keep track on my calories and protein using "livestrong.com", "My Plate". I try not to eat more than 1400 calories a day and have at least 70g of protein. The protein helps keep your metobolism working well. And I watch my carbs. I do eat some carbs but I do avoid Mashed potatoes, rice, pasta and sweets. I have noticed eating too little (under 1000 calories) for an extend time will really slow my weight loss. I do not regularly exercise. When school is out I will start walking and get on a schedule with my eliptical. I hope this helps! And 50 + pounds lost is nothing to be sad about!!!!
  5. I had my bandiversay this week, May 12th! I am so happy I decided to get the band. The results have been better than I dreamed. I have lost 100 pounds!
  6. As of today.......... 100 pounds gone forver!:rolleyes2::smile:
  7. I have bought a 6ctw. green amethyst ring ... that is gorgeous. I have had "100lbs!" engraved inside the band. I have not worn it yet and I asked my husband to hide it until I come out of the bathroom one morning doing the 100 dance. I am getting close to wearing that ring. As of this morning I am down 99lbs! It is funny. I use to go out to eat as an award... that doesn't work any more. So buying a new size now and then if really fun!
  8. Found something great just today! Cocoa Almonds by Emerald. My sister found them at Sam's so I bet they are sold at Wal-mart as well. They taste really good, the cocoa does not add additional calories. It is a great source of protien and fiber. I also love the SF pudding. I really like to make parfeit with coolwhip but sometimes it is too fluffy and it won't go down well. Adkin bars are also a nice treat!
  9. Jadensmom... I am so sorry to hear about your year. Congratulation on 44lbs! That's great!! jkpenny.... I agree, the band has taken all the fun out of eating. However, I think I was having way too much fun eating. Congrats on your 53lbs!
  10. I have notice the gastric bypass people lose much faster (at first) and have a bigger problem with the skin issues. That being said.... I am much older than you, 47. I have lost 95 pounds in 11 months (unbelievable for me). My skin is looser, for now. I can make wrinkles where there never have been wrinkles before but I don't think it looks bad to other people. I feel so much better! I fit in regular movie seats and rollercoaster seats!! I am on no medication!!! And I look much better in clothes (which is 99.999% of the time). If I am a bit saggy here and there only me and my Dr. will know about it. They say to give yourself a year before you give up on your skin tightening up. You are probably just getting nervous and focusing on the wrong stuff. So the worse case senerio is... you lose a lot of weight and your skin sags just a bit at first and you feel great and your health dramtically improves!! It is still better place than where you are now! Good luck! I have not regretted a moment my choice to get the band. It really works! Check out the before and after photo thread now and then (it is on general labband thread). I think it is a great motivator! Most everyone on there looks great and one day you can post there too.
  11. I read this thread because the title and your avitar name both made me laugh :tt1:. I bet your fun! I had a minor but similar situation. A co-worker was getting banded at the same Dr. and eventually she figured it out. I would have kept it to myself if I could but there was no way once she found out. Nothing mean spirited but she was so excited and could no contain it. So, I didn't want to come accross ashamed. It was just I didn't like the idea of people watching too closely. And what if I failed :smile2:! Well it ended up to be a liberating thing and 99% of the people have be super suportive. And when (not if) you start looking dramtically thinner and your heavy co-workers ask you what you are doing... how do you not tell the truth. I have been honest to anyone struggleing with their weight. If a scrawy person who isn't really nice compliments me I just say thanks...that is all. Good luck and be aggressive!
  12. 5 more pounds ..... gone forever!! I now have my eyes on 100lbs. 5 down 5 to go! I love my band!
  13. This thread got me thinking about calories and I realized I had no idea how much I was eating. I knew I was eating less but that was all. As I get closer to goal the slower the weight is coming off. I started keeping a journal on livestrong.com "The daily Plate". It is free, I love it and I am completely hooked. I thought I was eating enough protein...I was wrong. I have only been tracking for 2 weeks and the weight loss is picking up. I am eating 900-1200 calories. This allows me 3 meals and an afternoon snack. Hopefully by my band-aversity (May 12th) I will get to post on "Who has lost 100 pounds"!
  14. I am a pop-aholic! I love popcorn. I am very restricted and really have very little problem eating popcorn. I fill-up much faster and can not eat as much as before.... but that is the purpose of the band. It works!!
  15. Congrautlations! I bet it feels wonderful! It takes a lot of will power and determinations to fight your way through a 12 month platue, wow!
  16. Thank you everyone for the links and advice! I tried daily plate 1st because it had the most recommendations... I am hooked! I've been doing it for 3 days now and already I am seeing calories I didn't expect! And I love the little pie chart that give me a graphic visual of my calorie break down. The best part of eating now is getting to log in everything :scared2:. It even had the breakdown to a locally made protien drink that I prefer. That really suprised me! I am having much more restrictions than I was having before (no fill since August) and I think it is this spring weather. Being really tight is the easisest time for me to eat sweets, because they go down easy. Having to log that in makes me think twice... I then I don't eat the sweets (great accountablity). Thanks again for all your advice!
  17. I would like to start tracking my calories and I am interested in useing an internet site to keep a food journal. I am really confused on where to start. Do any of you recommend one website over the others? Does it require a membership fee? I appreciate your input!
  18. 2 more pounds gone forever! I am hoping to lose 100 by my band-aversity, May 12th. 10 pounds to go, cross your fingers for me!
  19. Had a fun experience this weekend. It has been hot down here, way to hot for the 1st week in March. The smallest size of capri pants I own are a 24. I went shopping for some new pants. I bought sevreal pairs of pants.... all size 14!! I can't believe it! It was suprising, surreal and mostly fun! I really felt out of my element shopping in those sizes...but I think I can get use to it ! The last time I was wearing a size 14 was probably when I was 14!
  20. Thank goodness I found this thread. I won't go into details...it sounds like y'all have all been there. Bought some Miralax today!
  21. What a neat story! Congratulations!!
  22. I have had my band since May 2008. I was very, very over wieght (266 lbs). I had type II dieates... my blood sugar is normal, no medication! I had high cholestrol.... cholestrol is normal, no medication! I had very high blood pressure.... blood pressure is normal and I still take 1/2 a dose of medicine but will stop after next Dr. visit. I had sever foot pain and walked with a limp.... foot is great, no limp and now I can exercise on my feet! Basically... my health was that of a much older person. These are the reason I got the band. Looking better is just a fringe benifit! I love my band!! Good Luck with your husband's desicion!
  23. Finally! A new number!! Broke my recent platue... down another 4 pounds!! I dreamed of these numbers but I can't believe it is really happening! Good luck Enigma! 100 is my goal too for my bandaversity. I think once we get closer to our goals we move from one platue to the next.
  24. Congrats Brenda!! You are getting very close to your goal. I platued out during the holidays, however, my weight usually goes up during the holidays! So that is a step in the right directions!
