Lite'N'Sweet got a reaction from F_it in Needing advice
I can't speak from experience but all the research I've done (because I hope to get pregnant again by the end of this year and i'm 2 days post op) says that you can have a normal pregnancy with the lap band. I understand that they recommend that you don't get pregnant RIGHT away after you've banded and try to lose all the weight that you need to lose before you get pregnant. And once you do you have to watch your nutrients very carefully.
There is someone on this forum that was documenting what they went through being pregnant and banded here: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/137406-my-experience-being-pregnant-with-the-lap-band/
I hope this is helpful! CONGRATULATIONS on this amazing news and Good luck to you!

Maybe a waste of his time. But not mine. Thrilled with my decision.

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to pink dahlia in Keep the dress? Yay or nay?
You're cute, the dress is cute, but I dont think it does your figure justice. Maybe a wrap dress ? That would show off your curves, the v neck would accentuate your bust and draw attention to your pretty face. They pretty much work for any size and figure. Just my opinion. Good luck !!

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to ShortSleeveoftheSouth in Vibration Plate?
They are very effective & safe if used correctly. I started a few weeks after my surgery & couldnt be happier with the results approx 8 mos post op. Whole body vibration machines work by contracting & releasing muscles & boosting circulation, just like any other exercise. The technology has been used by Russian & American space programs as well as rehab for athletes. You can find the machines in many chiropractors offices in my area as well. It is a valid therapy & is not the same thing as the old vibrating belts we see in the pics. The machines are class 2 medical devices & as such can be covered by insurance in certain situations. I would encourage anyone to try it. Nothing is for everyone, but many people will benefit from it & enjoy it

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to Dragon Lady in One Month Bandiversary!
I was banded one month ago, and saw my PA today. I'm doing great! All the little pinches and aches are normal, and I can start swimming and tai chi again! Incisions are fine (only got 2), and the port is flat.
Since I can only eat about a cup of food, and I was losing weight, we didn't even do a fill! Seems like I don't need it now, and I didn't want to start barfing. Next check in is in 3 weeks to see if I need an adjustment.
Hooray!

Lite'N'Sweet got a reaction from PuraVida37 in Why do I keep making stupid choices?
These experiences help you stow away reasons why you'll not do these things again. The next time you see baklava or any other sweet - you'll remember the headache... the disappointment. And you'll steer clear and opt to do better things - maeke better choices. It's part of the process for all of us!!! Keep your head up!

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to christinabryan89 in Incisions
I'm in the same situation. I was supposed to have 1 and actually ended up with 5 because of the hiatal hernia repair. The PA took off two of my sterile strips on my check up date and the incisions were opened before I even made it to my car. They told me not to put neosporin or peroxide on it because it kills the good bacteria that will help it heal. I just gently wash it in the shower with soap and Water and they seem to be doing better and have scabbed up again.

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to CherieRyde in Weight loss on liquid diet
According to MY scale, I've lost 6lbs in the week I've been on this pre-op diet. According to my surgeon's scale, I've only lost 4lbs.
*shrugs*
Either way ... it's all going to come off in the end.

It has happened to me in the past. Think of it as an ebb and flow... your body loses... it adjusts... then it loses again, then adjusts. Don't give up during the adjustment. Stay consistent and you'll have results. (And try to stay off the scale... it'll drive you crazy sometimes LOL) Good luck to you!

Lite'N'Sweet got a reaction from RiaRia in My little lap band monster is coming out!
Dr. Alvarez that advertises on this board? I don't know him personally but I did take time to watch some of his videos. He did the sleeve surgery on his mom and has a series on that. He does a LOT of video so I guess checking out his youtube page might give you a better feel for him (if he's the one you're talking about) https://www.youtube.com/user/Endobariatric
Good luck - really sorry that it didn't work out for you... but I pray for your success in whatever you decide to do!

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to lisacaron in Protein
Hi friend! You want to be getting in at least 60-80 grams of Protein a day. Protein is something that our bodies can not make and do not hold on to. So you must consume it every single day. It should be the first thing you eat as you plate your food. Salads, and fruits and vegies should be secondary to your protein intake.
Slices of deli meats, while they are yummy...are not the best choices of protein. They are usually high in sodium and other by products. Here is a link for nutrition information on deli meats including the protein content and amount per serving.

Hope this helps

Sounds to me like you should find a new shrink. I've been seeing mine for 6 years now and he still says I can't work. So now I'm retired.
I've never given blood or plasma, does it hurt at all?

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to zoepoodle in Isopure ready to drink
OK, just an FYI...
I thought it would be a good idea to use the Isopure ready to drink Protein in my green smoothie. I had kale, strawberries and the Isopure. The Isopure will whip up like egg whites, making the smoothie fluffy, but not sip able. You have to use a spoon. I'm thinking this may work well as a high protein dessert if made with sugar free pudding.

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to JustWatchMe in Divorce
A week ago I filed for divorce and my college age girls and I moved out. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. I won't lie. I got my LapBand this year because I knew that until I got out of my food fog and gained control of my life, I was doomed to remain paralyzed in this increasingly unhealthy relationship. I thank God every day for the health benefits, including the mental health benefits, of WLS. For me, the personal power that came with taking charge of my body was the final tool in the toolbox I needed in order to leave. When I was morbidly obese and overeating every single day as an emotional escape, I didn't have the ability to get myself and my girls out. When I stopped self medicating with food, I took my personal power back. For me, this was never just about weight loss or looking good or even just about getting healthy. It was about finding my courage. I'd like to hear from others who have ended a marriage or long term relationship after reclaiming their personal power and mental and physical health. As scary as this is, the three of us can now breathe and we will come out of this stronger.

Lite'N'Sweet reacted to B-52 in 5 Years and still struggling
Thinking about myself in your situation....I quess my band is tight enough, but not over tight, that I cannot drink to push food through...if I did, it will come back up and out....
So when I get that feeling you are describing, it is either time to slow down, or stop eating altogether...or perhaps the food I am eating is not appropriate... and drinking Water will not make it go away, only make it worse....
So eventually, over time, my addictions, my cravings, my approach to food and eating entirely, was FORCED to change due to having surgery, not with anything I did through my own will power....(I don't have any in this regard)
It was behavior Modification.....
I am not in the habit of telling other people to do or not to do...their lives are not my business and I will not Dx over the internet with strangers....
But I will look at my experience with the band and it would appear my band is adjusted a little tighter, where in the beginning had unpleasant consequences, but forced me to change to where I don't even notice it anymore, and don't think about the band being there at all.....changing a life time of bad habits and addictions that were killing me and ruining my life.
A little while back I had a 1/2cc taken out....tipped the scales entirely allowing me to eat more, and returning my cravings and hunger....I had to get the 1/2cc put back in within 2 weeks...
But again, that's me and my story...there are 100"s of people ere who have found their success with different approaches....somewhere in the mix you will find yours.
