  1. Hey Steve - I love music too!! I haven't noticed when my band is tighter, I'll have to pay more attention. I love my band too. Just got my second fill last Friday, January 4. Went back to the doctor yesterday and he wants to see me in six weeks. When were you banded? I had my procedure on November 1, 2007.
  2. I was banded on Nov 1 and had my first fill Dec 3. My PA that does the fills said the first fill only lasts a couple of days. I can eat anything I want (thats a problem) but I can't eat much (a good thing). I will get my second fill on Jan 4 and find out just how much I have lost (or not) I don't believe it has been much, maybe a few pounds. I have made some bad choices in food and drink but only beause of the holidays. Things will get better after the first, or should I say the 4th.
  3. My first fill was on December 3 - The PA that does Dr. Collier's fills told me that the first fill doesn't last very long. I am scheduled for my second fill on January 4.
  4. Excuse my ignorance but what is NSAIDS? and why no Asprin?
  5. Sorry to hear about that - what a bum deal. You will be missed!!! Stay around to visit.
  6. Has anyone ever had Fried Twinkies?? or Fried Snickers?? Canton's First Monday (flea market) has them but I have never tried them.
  7. Thank you everyone with the warning. I will just put my arms up in the future (hopefully I won't need to). Although, I only took a very small sip of the juice and it cleared it up almost immediately. But, I will go online and order some Clear Ease for the future just in case.
  8. Welcome and congrats!! I was one of the lucky ones too, no problems either. Good luck to you. Bobbi
  9. I had my first PB just the other day. It was not what I ate but because I ate too big a bite and too fast. It was cottage cheese, had a regular size spoon and just gulped it down like before my band days. I sipped a drink of pineapple juice and the pain went away very fast. Do a search on pineapple juice and you will find many people swear by that remedy.
  10. Thank you Happy Camper for the PB2 tip.
  11. Where do you get powdered peanut butter?
  12. Wantobeme is absolutely right! I have a friend that is starting to act weird around me too. I know it's because I have always been larger than her but now she knows I will be smaller soon. Your poor friend - we need to pray for her.
  13. 1. I can tie my shoes without losing my breath. 2. My eyes don't shut when I smile. 3. My big hips have less bruises. 4. I can see my feet. 5. I can see my cheek bones. 6. I can walk much further without getting tired. 7. I can cross my legs. 8. I can shave my legs in the shower! 9. I can get out of the bathtub without 911 on speed dial. 10. I can bend over and..... GET BACK UP! 11. I can shop......anywhere! 12. My double chin doesn't choke me while I sleep.<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
  14. Hi Kandi, Well, I am in your age category, I'm 54. I was banded on Nov 1 and I am doing great! I was tired for the first few days but after that I have been getting stronger every day. Just give yourself a little more time and don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone heals at a different rate. Good luck!! Bobbi
  15. November Nymphs is good by me.
  16. Congratulations Bobbi!! Sounds like you did great - keep it going. Bobbi (too)
  17. Nessa, I rubbed the remover on and not much came off at first. I went back later after it dried and it rolled right off. I don't know if it was because the remover I have has a conditioner in it but I think so.
  18. By the way, my doctor was trying to clean up the tape a little for me. He suggested to remove it with nail polish remover with acetone. I tried it last night and it works great. Another thing, I am pretty bruised up and he said that the meds they use during surgery causes bruising. Never knew that one.
  19. I did throw most of my clothes out before surgery. I am staying positive about the loss. I spoke to the support group last month about the swap, we may start it soon, we will talk about it tonight.
  20. I forgot - I see the doc again on November 27 and I get my first fill on December 3.
  21. I went to the docs yesterday for my first check up. He took the steri-strips off and told me to wash with Lever 2000. He said I could introduce other things now such as cottage cheese, cauliflower mashed potato stuff, etc. I am back at work and feeling great! I just need to start drinking more water, I can't get the hang of that. All in all, life is good!
  22. That's it . . . I need a ride now, I can't even drive there by myself! I think I see the red thing, ooohhhhh nooooooooooo!!!
  23. Now, this is not fair!!! Y'all are hurting my port site, I was just banded on the first and I will now never forgive you. I am LOL too hard and I think my stitches are going to pop and I will have to see my doctor tomorrow . . .
  24. GasX Strips - Kept them with me for a couple of days, I love them, worked really, really fast! No more gas for me!
