  1. I believe your goal weight should be a personal decision. It really depends on how you feel, still have energy, don't look sickly. Your doctor may have been setting a high goal weight to see how you would do along the way, then he could change it later. I think my doctor is a little upset with me because I haven't reached mine but I am happy the way my weight loss is going - not too fast. I'm okay with it even if he is not. It is my life and I paid for my band, he didn't.
  2. I think it's just personal preference. I like the taste of Centrum more so that's the one I take (just one).
  3. You can take any tea (or coffee) after it is cooled down completely, put a small amount sweetened creamer of your choice (I use sugar free hazelnut), fill a glass with tea and the creamer, ice cubes, it's great.
  4. Good to see your post - I haven't been around in awhile but wanted to check in on you. I'm jealous of your trip. I am originally from California and miss it so much! Have a great time. Bye for now, Bobbi in Willis, Texas
  5. You will be just fine. There are a lot more people out there that have no complaints than people that have complaints about not loosing, etc. Just do everything the doctor tells you and don't eat ice cream. Good luck!
  6. Of course it's okay!!!!! I know more people in the smaller category that had it done than larger people. Glad I did it and have no regrets!
  7. Sounds like gas to me too. I really believe those Gas-X strips help but get this . . . the last time I was at the surgery center, one of the girls that work there said that walking is the only thing that really works. She said that Gas-X strips don't work because it is a different kind of gas that is causing the problem. She thinks that it is in our minds that the strips work and that's okay as long as something works. I'm not sure I really believe that because the strips helped me!
  8. Everyone is right, hang in there, you'll see. It's like magic after the first or even second fill. I actually feel as though I just reached my sweet spot and I have had five fills - yes I said 5 fills. I really never started loosing much until after my second fill, but look out now! You will be okay!
  9. Kendra, I have not been around lately and was sure glad to hear some good news from you!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up and I'll keep praying. Bobbi
  10. Let me tell you . . . I had a big problem with my last fill a couple of weeks ago. I could not even keep water down. I kept drinking hot coffee thinking that would be okay but what I was doing (didn't know at the time) was making things spasm in there. When I finally called the doctor he told me not to drink hot or cold, then I was a little better. I did go in for a unfill after three days - boy was that a relief. I would call the doctor right away if I were you. Good luck!!
  11. You will hardly notice when it happens. It is just a tiny sting. Don't worry!!! You have enough bigger things to think about. You will love your band!!! Good luck!
  12. Kendra, Those brownies are the best - I will come join you, just let me know where and when. Hang in there!! You sure sound good. Bobbi
  13. You all look so good - all a inspiration to me!!! I need to go get some pictures taken of me so I can post them. I have before pics, now I need some new ones. Keep up the great work! Bobbi
  14. Suebaby, Where did you find them? What is the name?
  15. Hi - I go to Dr. Collier and I think he is great! I had my surgery done at JourneyLite on November 1st. I love Dr. Collier's PA too, she does all the fills there and she does a sweet fill! I know several people that use them and have heard no complaints.
  16. Kendra, Just wanted you to know I am still thinking of you and keeping you on my prayer chain. Let me know if you need any additional visitors when you are in Houston and I will be there. Bobbi
  17. I did in fact PB a lady bug once - right after I was riding my motorcycle!!!
  18. I found a liquid that is not too bad. It is Nordic Naturals ARCTIC COD LIVER OIL Omega-3 Supplement in STRAWBERRY and PEACH flavors, maybe more. The only thing is you need something to chase the after effects of the oil close by. It's not really that bad.
  19. Kendra, FYI - MD Anderson is about a one hour drive (60 miles) from my house. Bobbi
  20. Kendra, You are welcome to stay at my house when you go to M.D. Anderson. I live in Willis, north of Conroe, if you know where that is. Let me know if you would like to do that, anytime. Bobbi Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say unto you, What things ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
  21. For the last five years I have been going to an Ophthalmologist every six months because he wanted to keep a close eye on me because he saw what could become Glaucoma. Today was the day, he said “this is interesting,” my pressure went from 16 down to 11, which I now know is good. He told me there has been a discovery that this happens with people with Lap Bands. They don’t know why, “it’s a mystery.” He said that it happens as soon as six weeks after surgery before the patient even has time to loose much weight. Well, mystery or not, I’m happy it happened to me.

  23. Hi, I was banded four months ago, have lost 33 pounds, was a little constipated for a short time until I figured out I wasn't drinking enough water. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! I wish I had done it when I was 35 years old (never heard about it then), I am now 54. I am very excited about my band. I am sure I would have lost more weight by now but I really eat bad stuff sometimes, like chocolate this weekend (I am feeling guilty right now) Bobbi
  24. I got my BioTrainer BioTrainer Weight Loss System - measure physical activity and caloric burn yesterday but I haven't signed up for the web thing yet. I will wear mine while I work out tomorrow and see how I like it. Bobbi
  25. Luluc - thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. I wouldn't want anything around my arm all day long either. I actually have had my BioTrainer on all day today and forgot about it being there. I think it will serve my purpose too.
