Being banded on Monday
I agree Baytown Bert. I have that same feeling that I can do really do it as well. I solved my texture/crunch problem ( not craving food but the feel of it) had a fruit juice frozen tube that could mash up . It was awesome. Take care catch you later Jane

justwaitin2b banded in October and a bit scared
Don't dwell on the malteasers the rest of the dinner was okay. I had my birthday tea around day 5 and it was steak too. Today just get back on that TF and take each day as it comes. 2 .1 kilo is great just think how much more it will be by the 29th. Take care

I am feeling fine. In fact i have felt fine since the op, although I can't remeber much of the first day. liquids are going done fine. I think its all part of the brain and food connection but will say craving texture but do not really feel like food or best of all hungry . Am moving pretty good although do find some parts of the day that I will just crash out on sofa. Am walking around house etc but will look at walking next week . Keep us posted on how you are going.

Just Banded
I think it will . I have had the odd shoulder pain and found best cure was just to lie down for a short while with a soft pillow. Still haven't had great desire to burp . How are you going with the liquids? Take care and keep being postive Jane

Being banded on Monday
Glad to hear you are feeling fine. Must admit I am not too sure that I would want to fly anywhere . How long is the flight and what part of UK. Enjoy the liquid stage! Must admit I'm craving texture not food just a different texture to liquid . Hopefully that will make more sense to you in a few days Take care Jane

Just Banded
I'm interested in what the gas feeling is. I was banded on the 24th September and feeling fine. I do have some strange gurgling sounds come from stomach but I wouldn't call that gas. Jane

fatnomore just joined
Hi Kathy I am glad that your husband is backing you up but maybe if he reads some of the chats or blogs by people who have been banded he will see that it is not "a cop out" or "easy way out". :peep: In all my reading of late that is something I have discovered. I am 52 and like you have had years of frustration with diets. I can't tell you how well it works as I am just starting and it may sound strange but I feel so much more confident in that I know I can do this and this band that is with in me is not the answer it is a means to help me get there. I am aware that I am still going to have to work at it , watch what I eat , do the exercise etc but I believe I can permanetly make those changes.:dance: Good luck and keep us posted Jane

Hi Fatnomore I hope everything went well for you. I can understand about how you are feeling as I was banded on the 24th so just a day ahead. I was fine up to the day and then was just really nervous but all went well and I am at home and feel fine. Hope you will be doing the same. Let us know how you are going Jane

Banded yesterday...have questions
I was told clear liquids and for first few days little sips. Then by day four up to 1/2 cup. The may rule was liquid should be able to be drunk through straw ie no Soups with bits in. I have just got home today and so far it has been Water and a fruit popper and only in small doses.

justwaitin2b banded in October and a bit scared
Just keep telling yourself only 4 weeks to go and remember the more you lose pre op the better the op goes. I know it sounds silly but it does get easier. I had a 1.5 litre of water and just kept grabbing it everytime I craved something else. Played havoc with the bladder at night Take care

Being banded on Monday
Hi Hestie Good luck for the 28th. I must admit that now it is all over I feel really silly about my being nervous. I even sat down and wrote a letter to my family should anything go wrong but as you can see its all gone fine. I am either lucky or the worst is still to come but feel really good I feel as if I have done too many sit ups but then its only 24 hours after op. Hi Mrspete I am so postive this is the right thing to have down. Mind you as said so far not a lot of discomfort or any of the gas you talked about. Will keep head of your advice when start eating 2 weeks of liquids first then mushies Hope to hear how the rest of up coming banders are feeling after being banded Take care

Being banded on Monday
Hi Karen Good luck with the TF. I appreciate the thought. It is hard going but just keep repeating to yourself what good it is doing to you and your liver. I think I found the past week the hardest. As for inspiration you have had a great influence on me since first coming across you on boards. Your zest for life and honesty has been great. Hope to see you on Wednesday if up to it. Your time is near just remember that Take care jane

Being banded on Monday
Good morning all What a pleasant surprise to wake up and find several replies . I know having mixed emotions is fairly normal but it is great to hear that someone is going through the same thing sirusman it makes you feel you are not quiet as loony as you think. I know that I sit here and keep telling myself off for the doubts that crept in . While I am not a strong believer in God I do like your attitude Barb that if it doesn't work then I am meant to be fat. Again in saying that I am not expecting a wonder drug/ cure I have to put in the hard yakka and watch what i eat etc. I know I have made this decision to have the band done because I have failed at everything else I have tried ( well not really failed but once off diet weight goes back on) and I think it will give me that edge both mentally and physically that I can't get from dieting alone. It is so easy to break a diet but with the band it seems you have that physical barrier to help stop overeating. Does that make sense? Donna I was glad to read your comments as that is exactly what I am hoping for. Sorry to ramble and Jenn I have told my DH the same. He has been great through the whole process and supported me 100% Good luck on Wednesday sirusman and take care all Jane
