  1. Sheesh, ya'll keep naming em, I'll keep adding more to my list LOL. When you're done with Kate Winslet and Eminem, send them over to Melbourne, please lol - oh - you're free to come with them if ya want
  2. o0o .. if ya add Alanis Morissette in there, I'd offer to join yas
  3. Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler - together Dave Matthews - from Dave Matthews Band; would gladly have the entire band together if possible lol. They inspire me
  4. YaYYY - you're a brave man Almost makes me wish I had a hairy tummy to cover my scars lol, but I'm thinking that would make my post banding goal of looking good in a bikini a moot point heh...
  5. I realize this thread is quite old now, but I just found it so thought I'd add my two cents lol. I too, found LBT through Google. It has been an invaluable tool for me throughout this journey. I'd hate to think of other new bandsters not having the same support system available to them. While I don't really list anything personal in my profile, its just because of years of internet use lol. But I love this place and I'm extremely happy for what the band has done for me. If seeing before and during (hopefully sometime, after heh) pictures gives someone else a little hope, mine will still be there.
  6. Not I. I did cheat in the pre op stage a time or two, but post op, I was too afraid that I'd mess up the pouch, or stitches, or something lol. What stage of mushies are you on? Can you have like, canned spaghetti mashed up or anything? Just for some variety (maybe even with a cheesy sauce? LOL) It'll be over soon - you can do this...
  7. Thanks everyone I can fit into my old 14's from there as well, but they're stretch denim lol. Course, this time last year I was wearing a 24 from there, so I'm happy with a 16
  8. Thanks for your input, JulyBandster I've always had my cycle like clockwork - every 28 days, so this is just really stressing me lol (add to that, that I was really wanting to jump my hubby when he got off the plane yesterday heh, that probably added to the frustration ten fold). Before I went off the pill two years ago, I was on Yasmin, as I wanted something that wouldn't make me gain weight (I was big enough already lol). But it made me really nauseous. This time the doc put me on MonoFeme®. I never really liked being on the pill cause I am so forgetful heh. Would often forget to take it, but now that my hubby's had the snip, I'm not too worried about that side of things.
  9. Okay, so I found a pair of jeans in the closet that I haven't worn in .. we'll, I'm not sure if I've ever worn them actually. I bought them, but they were too tight and I did the ole, "Oh, well they'll fit when I lose weight" thing lol. Five years later... So I put them on this morning and they fit. Actually, they were loose, but that's okay. What I'm trying to figure out is, these jeans are a size 16, from Lane Bryant, circa 2000 (think, before stretch demin was invented - they've got no give). So I'm wondering if they're a true 16 or if they're an off size. Anyone an expert of circa 2000 Lane Bryant sizing issues? hehe
  10. Okay, this is probably too much info, but here goes ... Since being banded in March, my periods have been irregular, to say the least. They've also been extremely long (when they finally get here), heavy and the cause of much moodiness, which is not at all like me. Yesterday, my husband came home from a 10 day business trip in Europe, the longest we've ever been apart - and wouldn't ya know it, Aunt Flo decided to rear her ugly lil head lol. That was the last straw for me .. marched off to the GP to get put back on birth control and try to get this in check. I'd been off of it for two years, since my husband had the snip. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed irregularities after surgery and if this is indeed, normal.
  11. LOL consider yourself lucky. Six months post op and I can rarely muster up a burp or a fart heh .. sometimes I think I'm gonna explode!! It'll probably diminish when you start on real food...
  12. Personally, I'm not a milk drinker, so post pictures
  13. Fantastic thread, Lisa. Its great to put a face with the name. Now if I can only talk Alex into letting us embed webcams here, we could all see each other in realtime lol....
  14. Marilyn Monroe & JFK .. together lol. Clark Gable If they didn't have to be dead I could think of a few more...
  15. While I don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to say I hope everything goes okay. Let us know what your band doc says, please...
  16. Congratulations, Keri!! You'll do fine - just make sure to rest up while you have a chance (if your house is anything like mine you can't rest at home lol) I'll send some happy thoughts your way Let us know how you went, when you're feeling up to it.
  17. Regular tidy whities or boxer brief tidy whities?
  18. White cotton thong with lil martini glasses on it (from Lane Bryant and way too big now lol)...
  19. I was in overnight .. and was definitely out lol, from a couple of minutes before surgery til a couple of hours after the surgery. Good luck
  20. Congratulations, Pam! You're an inspiration to us all. I so love reading these success stories and can't wait til I'm one of them myself lol
  21. Thank you *everyone* for your openness and honesty! I'll post again after my consultation - if anyone has suggestions of things to ask the surgeon, I'm open to suggestions lol. Oh .. and if anyone has before/after pics I'd love to see them!
  22. OMG - Congrats!!! That's a huge victory. Specially since they size those things for the petite lil things around here lol. I'm so not ready to try JustJeans yet lol, although I do love their stuff. I can squeeze my arse into a Colorado 16 now, but they size their clothes larger.
  23. Dr Pleatman is also a member here and posts occassionally... I've only ever heard good things about him.
  24. Compared to my transition from liquids to solids, you're doing great. Mine was like this:- 2 weeks full liquids 1 week soft mushie foods (watery oatmeal, runny mashed potatoes, etc) 1 week with a lil more substance, like tuna, squished up canned spaghetti, etc 1 week lasagna, tuna mornay, caserole type dishes 1 week crackers, soft (poached) chicken with gravy, grilled salmon with sauce, etc Then I was able to have full solids. Each doctor is different though. Keep your chin up - it'll happen. Just takes time for your body to adjust and heal.
  25. I couldn't have lived with out my soups (to puree) and strappy tops with shelf bra (as a real bra just wasn't cutting it). Good movies and good books are also a good idea. I also cooked a couple of dinners the week before and froze them, so my husband didn't have to worry about cooking while I was recovering. Good luck on Monday
