I hate it when people post just to post.....
I can't do alligator since banding...it's too chewy and I'd rather have the catfish, too. But I do like it. We went to Red Lobster the other day to try the tilapia w/white chocolate (from the Next Food Network Star on Food Network) it was YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY. Highly recommended. My DD and I split one, though, since one serving is 14 points on WW.

1/2 way there and getting scared
Kat, I was just thinking about insurance vs. PS reasonings this weekend. I moved this weekend and my bras are not made for that kind of workout! I have a rash on the top of my stomach and the underside of my breasts. I also have a stinging sensation under the flap of my stomach. I'm down 70 since surgery and have 70 more to go, but I was wondering if I should see the doctor about the rash NOW, and show documentation for it. I know PS is in my future... But, in your post you mention that the insurance co. wants to see that you've tried other things. If I may ask, what else did they need to see for you? What documentation did you show, and how long did you have to wait for approval? I'm really worried about the loose skin. My under arms wave longer than I do, my belly is hanging lower than it did, my breast are more saggy without the support of my big belly, and my butt is a helluva lot lower than it used to be. I love the weight loss when I'm wearing jeans and t-shirt, but the naked effect is similar to a melting candle.

Anyone else noticed?
Okay, just joining in to the violet crumble conversation...LOVE THEM. Best friend's brother-in-law is an Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - Oi! and they go every year "back home" and I make them bring me back voilet crumbles. World Market *sometimes* has them, but not all time. Thank goodness!!! I'd be in trouble!

And WTH is that supposed to mean, huh?...HUH? I HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR! Don't I? I do, right? I mean, it would totally suck if I didn't, cause I think I do.... Don't I?

Signifigant Other's Insecurities, is it OUR job to stop them?
Damn...that would send me over the edge. I'm sorry! That's almost abuse, if not there already. How much more can you take? I think that may be your answer...? Huge, blatant manipulation tool. Did he do this kind of stuff when you were fat? Was he always this insecure?

I have a boxer that farts smell like skunk...only worse. Sometimes she'll get up and leave the room - it's bad when the dog can't even stand it. She's not fat, though, so she either doesn't need DS, or already had it.

That's a cute saying! I think next time I'm "unpacking", I'll point out how well the bags match.

I like ones on the back of the neck, too, but I try to get them (all 2 of 'em) in places that I can cover up. I do work in a professional environment, and despite the fact that EVERYONE has them now, I like to keep a low profile. It was strange...I saw my boss in a casual setting with shorts and she has a tat on her ankle. I NEVER would have suspected! I love em. I'd like piercings, too, but I tried one in my upper ear and it got nasty. I just couldn't stop that bumpy thing (keloid?) from happening. So, F it...I'll just get ink. :Angel_anim:

I agree with the postings above that say reassure - to a point. I recently had this conversation (in reverse) with my SO over pictures he took 2 years ago. He reassured me, pointed out, lovingly, that I was being a dumbass, and I agreed. I think if he'd said immediately, "Don't be stupid" and then brushed me off, the insecurity in me would have come out full blown. Or, if after he'd said, "I love you, only you." blah, blah, I'd kept going with the accusations or annoying pushy behaviour, then it would have been be going way over the line. I will always be insecure about relationships, I think. It's progressed as I've gotten older, but it's always there. There comes a point, when I have to step back and think: Is there something here, or am I just paranoid. I think loving someone (especially one with baggage - and who doesn't have baggage?) means putting up with some little crap that you don't "get" but is important to the other person. (Me? I need to hear "I love you, really." everyday. Him? He needs me to watch old episodes of Star Trek, and have a love of William Shatner. I think he has it easy.) So, again - to a point - reassurance - hell, even if it's daily - is a good thing. When the other party is STILL clingy, STILL needing that even after you've given a lot of reassurance, then there is a problem.

When I came home with my first tattoo, my mother freaked. She said, "The body is a temple, how could you do that?" I asked about her holes in ears, and how did she think God would feel about that? She was quiet after that, but every now and then she'll make some offsides comment about them. I want more, but funds are preventing it. One place near here has a sign that says ladies free. I'm not sure what the quality would be of a "ladie's free" establishment, so I'm wary to try it. I want a ho tag when I get thin...I don't CARE what the grandkids think when it's hanging to my knees.

Kat, thank you - I've always enjoyed reading your posts becuase they're always very insightful. I'm not sure I'll ever have that much confidence. :Angel_anim: I can step back, though and appreciate it for what it is, and now I kinda feel silly. So, yes, stress! I'll blame stress.... <insert sheepish grin!>

LOL...ew...I dunno. I was a kid, so I'm not sure. I think that my mom just put them there for the dog, to make her think that she was getting one up on us. Then, mom would put them back on the floor when we got home. I'd love to take an animal psych class. I know humans can never really *know* but it would be interesting to know why dogs/cats do what they do.

That reminds of a dog that we had growing up. She'd look out the window as we were leaving, and then hump the pillows on the sofa. We'd see her back going up and down, then she's pop up and look at us through the window. If we were still looking, she'd start humping again...dogs are weird.

Nanook - thank you sooo much. I love this post. I think, logically I understand all that about guys...and me, too. I look, I even sometimes say, "Yummy." But, I do feel it's a respect thing not to do that in front of your S.O./spouse. And, this was something he just forgot about, and I'm sure he just had himself a nice little "yummy" moment! The dogs eating cat litter - yeah...nasty stuff. The last time we just had the dogs over to "introduce" them all, my boxer ate a big amount and got very sick. After that, a friend pointed me to a website (I think it's something like thescooponpoop.com...maybe?...) and it talks about animals eating other animals' poop and why. It's interesting, to say the least. :tt1: They just eat everything, even tissues. They don't chew on stuff, like shoes or furniture - just eat anything that's laying around. They're better now than they used to be, but I don't think they can resist poop. :tt1: ick.

I may get grief from some watchdogs over admitting this, but - I watch that show with my daughter...and point all the things she should NEVER do. But, yeah...that look suited her so well! I am not sure I have that look. :tt1: But, darn it...I can blame some pre-midlife crisis and GO FOR IT anyway.

How long do you have to wait? And, what color do you have under the streaks? I'm new to getting my hair done professionally...I used to be more of a home bottle-in-a-box girl. But, after having my hair pretty much fried over several years of home treatments, I've gone professional. So, waiting is new to me. Anyone watch Skank-of-Love w/Brett Micheals? The first season's winner had hair I'd love. Shoulder length with hot pink underneath and the bright blond on top. I love that look...Don't know if it's for me, but I want to try one day.

Ha! It's funny that you say that, cause yes - all my shirts need to be pre-treated for stains before washing. Food hits the girls all the time! I never understood why we need to put napkins on our laps....if food falls, that's not where it lands!

Yeah...I just thought late....yeah...that's it. :tt1: (I think the band was thinking for me, really.) It's been an icky day so far. My coffee spilled down my shirt, so I look like a fool at work, and then the sliming...I'm afraid to find out what's next.

White with orange spots? Now, that would be kinda cool. Never thought about the binky thing! :tt1: I may need it after all! I just popped a bite of blueberry doughnut into my mouth and started sliming like crazy. I can't believe I'm still not thinking about the crap I eat. I ended up throwing it away after that bite. WTH? Maybe all the dye went to my head.
-
I hate it when people post just to post.....
I did recently dye it...about a month ago now. I s'pose I can wait. :tt1: I love new hair colors, and have always played around with the boxes. I've been purple, blue and red, and normal colors like black, brown, and a really light brown almost blond, but never white-blond. I think all women go through the blond phase, don't they? I want spikey blond hair, like my avatar, Maggie! :tt1: Just no Binky.

Time to get real and face reality
I'm in the same boat! I was banded in Sept, lost 70 pounds, and am creeping up. I love the icy treats, and am doing the WW program to support my daughter. I had a complete unfill in Feb, gained 10 pounds during that time period, and am now filled to an OK point. Not too tight, but not too loose. The icy treats go down nicely, though, no matter the fill level. TODAY IS A NEW START. I am right there with you!!! I've got lunch and dinner planned, I'm staying on plan today. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. This thread was an inspiration for me. I need this, too... Thank you.
