defibvt reacted to AlbaGuBrath in 4 months out, before and afters...and NSVs galore. Best thing I have EVER done
So...4 months out and (almost) 4 stones down...the before and after photos are at 3 stone off, I look SO different again, just need to take a pic.

I have lost 12 inches off my waist and 14 off my 'mum tum' (its flabby flap has gone from 3 inches of sag to under 1/2)

I am lighter than my other half...therefore no longer the heaviest in the house *high 5*

I have lost the combined weight of my 4 year old, the cat and 2 of our hens

    I buy a UK size 16 off the peg (previously a 22)

I have just applied for and got a job which I wouldn't have dreamed of even applying for 5 months ago...start tomorrow eek!

My 4 teens are super proud of my new look and (though they aren't consciously doing it) are actively spending more time with me around their friends...and my 4 year old is thrilled with my new energy levels.

I'm away to take climbing instruction and have joined 2 groups to learn that and ukulele...and am involved with sorting a 20yr reunion for my high school (a stark contrast from my previous very anti-social self)

I have legs...really nice ones...I have always totally viewed them as my worst asset and had no idea that these shapely beings existed beneath my previous tree trunks.

My boobs are no longer my best asset...this really worried me pre-op as I was massively defined by them...you know what??? I don't care (and neither does he)!

I can go buy vintage clothes...and they fit...and they look amazing (hand knitted 70s dress from a charity shop is my absolute favourite buy)

The skin looseness is nothing like I thought it would be

Learning that food is fuel and not enjoyable is hard and the mental process behind it isn't a nice one...but the feeling of accomplishment helps more than I could have ever believed!

    I love yoga!

This is the best investment I have ever made in myself...I am just so, so happy! yes...there are negatives, but they are far outweighed by all the zillions of good stuff :D

Yeah, I was looking online and I can find them there. I guess the two stores I looked at must just not sell them in store.

You guys are the ones that motivate me. I'm still waiting for insurance approval, I'm currently 6,3 400 lbs waiting on the sleeve. I have told my wife that I am putting a rule on myself that I have to exercise before I can go home that's my rule. I also had to explain that when this gets done I'm going to miss some things like little league practices, but if I miss them now I won't miss them later. Thanks for settling my mind about everything.

I just did a quick check on Amazon.com.... yes they do sell jeans in size 28 for men.. BTW great job!!!! You need to look for 'slim fit' jeans, verses straight leg or loose fit...

Enduring a bit of a plateau right now, which is frustrating but to be expected. I am still in a large calorie deficit, so it seems my body is just rebelling a little bit right now. I also think my blood pressure medication is causing Water retention, and I hesitate to take a water pill because of the diuretic effect...it's already hard enough to get my water in for the day, I don't want a water pill making me dump all of it. I tried taking it for a week and was getting pretty dehydrated. I may just switch to doing it every few days and see how that works. Otherwise, things are pretty good. I am wearing a 2x hoodie for the first time in...I don't even know how many years. It feels a little snug but everyone says it looks perfect. I think I'm just not used to wearing clothes that fit that way. I've gravitated toward loose clothing for so long now, it's a real change.

Had gastric sleeve nov 11, 2016! Hasn't been easy! I was in and out of the hospital with dehydration and stomach spasms causing me to vomit constantly! I'm doing much better now and these results make it seem worth it finally! Don't give up! You're gonna get to where you want to be! Have a blessed Friday!

Hi, guys. Just wanted to share a progress pic and Celebrate with you all. Went to the sleep doctor today, and for the first time ever, I didn't dread stepping on the scale.

I enjoy moving more and have so much energy.

You all gave me tons of candid insight into the process - thank you! Was a great choice for me.

Just curious how much weight people lost on the pre-op diet. I've lost 20 lbs. but I don't know how much my surgeon expects/wants. The nurse said not to worry, just lose as much as you can.
I go in on Monday. Yikes! Am I really doing this? Looks like I am!

I stopped at the library after work this afternoon to work on a paper that is due for a class I am taking. (working on my masters) An extremely attractive women in maybe her late 40's asked me if I would like to get a cup of coffee. I graciously declined and she handed me her number. Said she her company just transferred her to Dallas and she is way past the bar scene. Again, I declined (married for 17 years) but wow!!!! it did feel awesome to be noticed again.

It's been one year today since I had my sleeve done. My life has changed in every aspect.
    My start weight was 333.1lbs
My weight this morning was 137.8lbs
    That's a total loss of 195.3lbs!!
    I've also lost a total of 95 inches...I'm a size 6 now...used to be a size 30.
I have accomplished this by being very focused and strict with my eating and exercise.
I eat very low carb, and always get in my Protein, Vitamins and Water every day.
For all of you just starting out, just know that anything is possible, and if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything!!

I've been in the habit of weighing on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday), but I've been so eager to see myself cross over the 100lbs lost mark that I've been doing it every couple of days for the last week. The weight seemed to be totally unwilling to change! I was stuck at the same weight for a week and it seemed that my body just didn't want to give me the satisfaction. Until this morning!
I'm officially past the 100lb mark, and halfway to my weight loss goal. I'm wearing clothes right now that I was wearing at my high weight of 385 and they look gigantic on me. Feels real good. Now, to get the NEXT 100lbs off!

I would highly recommend Dr Elias Ortiz, from A Lighter Me... As an ICU nurse I had high standards for the surgeon who would do my sleeve. I am nearly 2 years out, and am highly satisfied with my results and the people and staff, at the hospital, A Lighter Me and the hotel, you stay at, are awesome. Since I have had my surgery, and the results I've had, my brother in law, my nephew, a co-worker of my sister and a friend of mine have had surgery with A Lighter Me, and I've heard nothing but positive results. Good luck on your journey!
