After 4 weeks I was cleared to do weights, I started off light/high reps until I became comfortable working out again.

Woohoo! I was sleeved on August 26, 2013. As of this morning I am down to 182 from 289. I only have 22 more lbs to lose until I hit my personal goal of 160 which will put me in a "HEALTHY" bmi.
I am 5'8". I was in a tight womens size 24 or 3X. I am now a size 8 or 10 and a size large or XL top.
I am so glad I've documented everything along this journey. Here are a few pics that I'd like to share.

Today I stepped on the scale and it said 299. Im 9 weeks post op. Down 51 lbs since surgery and 61 lbs total. This journey is a beutiful one for me and my family. I have set a goal of 210lbs for myself. Everyone says that my first goal will change. Its crazy how all I do is walk/jog 3 miles a day and fight to eat 1200 calories and the weight just falls off. Starting where old clothes again, but soon I will have spend some cash everything I own is getting to big. Well back to work I go just thought I'd share my morning.

    Surgery was yesterday!
Great deal of pain first 24 hours.
When tried walking I would get nausea really bad. So they upped the nausea meds overnight.
The gases aren't passing too well so there will be more walking today.
Glad the surgery part is over! Onto healing! Hopefully I'll be home tomorrow. .

Hi everyone, I made it! Still pretty tired and weak from the anesthesia, but the pain isn't too bad. Got a lot of discomfort in my back/chest from the gas. But other than that doing pretty well. Been sleeping most of the afternoon. Hoping tomorrow is a better day but just super happy it's over with!

I had surgery on January 24, 2014 and on the 24 of February is when dr said. Since I had sleeve and healed quick and no complication and eating great no issues, he said im great to go. Different people different stages. My friend had it done the first week of January and is still trying to get to where im at. I get 80-120 grams of Protein in, getting in 64oz Water, and staying at or under 1200 calories.

I was allowed cardio right away. I did stationary bike for a couple of weeks and then moved back to elliptical. I wasn't cleared for weights until 6 weeks out.

Stephen - not to dampen your enthusiasm for working out in the gym (truly a great thing), but you will have to do much less than the cardio you are used to, at least for the first few weeks. Nothing strenuous where you are maxing out your pulse until 3-4 weeks post op. No lifts until 5-6 weeks post op. Before that, it is a good time to get really good at walking. And a lot of it. The doctor will probably tell you something along these lines. You need to spend these initial weeks healing before you get back into your typical gym vigor.

I was allowed to walk to my heart's content. At two weeks, I was allowed to lift light weights only - no more than five pounds, but at the time, 2 was enough. At eight weeks out now, I can pretty much do what I want, but weights are still restricted to five pounds.

I walked right away. I was released to do any strength training for 6 weeks. I would go to the gym and walk on the track. Then I progressed to the treadmill. I could have walked outside on some days but wanted to stay in the routine of going to the gym.

My surgery date is Tuesday and authorized through my insurance today! It was looking sketchy because my clearance was not completed yet. Been had my surgery date all month even though not authorized through insurance yet. Last weekend of pre-op! This is the happiest Friday ever! Making room on the losers bench!

I was always fat. All my life is about being heavy and trying to live a normal life, but lately it's getting harder and harder by the minute. My mom told me when I was born I had asthma and she had to leave me in the hospital for 6 weeks. I was the only baby who gained weight even in the hospital! Chubby cute little girl turned into a chubby not so cute anymore teen, and after age 25 (now I am 39) things got out of hand and I am gaining some kilos every year. Done every diet possible but I always gain everything back.
About 3 years ago I moved to the UK and my God I have never in my life had to climb so many stairs I have to climb in this country. My knees gave out pretty fast. That's when I knew I have to lose the weight for good but I had no idea how am I going to do that. My mom asked me if I would consider the gastric band and I was all about it until I've learned more about it and decided it's not for me. That's when I came across gastric sleeve, researched it for a year and had my consultation a few weeks ago. I will have my surgery in April.
I have to fly quite a lot, using these charter flights whithin Europe is a complete nightmare for a heavy person, I have to fight my seatbelt every time, sweating bullets by the time it finally clicks - trying to do this gracefully is an art I've mastered! I am tired of being fat. I am so heavy I can barely do my work, being on my feet all day is killing me and I could cry by the end of the day I am looking forward to live a healthier life.
