  1. Okay Ray and my fellow August 05 people where are you??? Out enjoying your new bods?? I'm doing very well, I've lost 92lbs as of tonight. I am very pleased. I am debating on getting another fill as hubby is coming back from India next Sunday and is ready for his second fill. I will probably hold off as I just started a new job and I'm down 6lbs in almost 2 weeks. Hope everyone has a great week and don't be a stranger!! Keep us posted and stay strong!
  2. Hi and welcome to bandland! I know it's hard to look at things as a long term, but the band is not a quick fix. If you are only 2 weeks out you are still dealing with the mental aspects of being banded. PLEASE give yourself time to heal and don't give up!! I am 27, but I was way over 200 all through high school, so if you would like someone to talk to I am here. Take care and ((((HUGS))))
  3. I've been with the love of my life now for almost 5 years. It's amazing how fast time flies when you find your best friend and the person you want to spend forever with.
  4. I had a 5 year old orange cat that Harley got for me when we first got together in the summer of 2001. He started out as Ms. Kitty, (the pound didn't realize he was a boy he was so little and young) and soon developed into Kitty and then simply "O". When I was pregnant with Meleah I was told not to empty the litter box and hubby wasn't too thrilled about it. I asked Mo my 10 year old sister if she wanted to take care of him for me. She always wanted a cat that would let her love on him. O was a very affectionate cat and would let you do anything to him. I was down there last weekend and held him like a newborn baby and loved on him. My mom called me at 4 am telling me that O wasn't feeling well. That he was crying and laying around in odd places he typically never did. I told her to take him to the vet and that I would pay for it that I couldn't come down there today because I had to work (it's only my 2nd day). About 1/2 an hour later at 4:30ish she called and told me that he whimpered one last time, had a hard time breathing and died. Please keep Mo in your prayers, she is going through so much right now (other things I can not talk about), now her cat has died. I feel so torn because I can't call in my 2nd day to be there to help her deal with this. Here is the website of O. http://www.henderson-family.us/kitty.htm Thanks!
  5. I guess everyone else has lost all their weight and they are at the nudist convention.. Please post when you return!
  6. Thankfully I don't do cold well so the Sonic Blast isn't something I would enjoy frequently. I can do ice cream for some reason better than drinks that are frozen or really cold. I rarely do hamburgers or sandwiches, I hate the feeling I get. I have noticed though as long as I don't drink for like an hour afterward (I know supposed to do so anyways) that I can eat about 1/2 a hamburger with the bottom bun. I can eat a (kids) cheeseburger from BK in 2 settings!! btw I've been good, no ice cream or fries in the past few days... I'm still loosing weight too!
  7. Hi, I was about the same size you are, but only 5'6". I have lost my weight amazingly fast for a bandster from what I can tell, you have to remember that everyone is unique. My hubby got banded 5 months after I did and we are both very pleased with our decision. He actually lost weight before he was banded from just living with me and the changes I had to make as a bandster. I would do it again in a heart beat. I went through the surgery because I didn't want my then 10 month old to be without both her parents due to morbid obesity at a young age. Best of luck to ya!
  8. Personally if I lost my band I would do GB. I do agree with the doc that there is a reason why doctors refuse to do certain things and the situation has definately changed after an erosion. Best of luck to everyone!
  9. You will be fine... Just take it easy and remember you are doing this to be healthy and for YOU. See ya on the losing side!
  10. Welcome to the forum... I'm in the Mesquite area. I look forward to meeting you at a future get-together!
  11. Hi, I'm in the Mesquite area. I know that Dr. Rodriquez has a good reputation. My hubby and I both used Dr. Robert Powell in Richardson. I would highly recommend him as well. I'm not sure what he charges for self-pay, but he is an excellent surgeon. Best of luck to you!! I look foward to meeting you at a future DFW get together!!
  12. While giving my 17 month old a bath I decided to paint my toe nails while she played in the tub. So I sat on the toilet and I did so without feeling like I was going to blow a gasket and I only got the paint on my toe nails not my toes!!!! Wooohooo!!! That's the first time in 10 years I've painted my own toe nails successfully!!!
  13. I dunno if I can make it or not. April is not a good month for me this time around because of Hubby going to India and my MIL's wedding. I will try to make it, sorry I can't commit.
  14. Darn, I'm sorry I couldn't make it. Hubby is getting ready to leave for India again and it's been crazy. Hope to make the next one. Everyone looks great! Sorry!
  15. Heal up girl!! Hope things get better soon!
  16. For I have sinned... While waiting in the drive thru at Sonic for my Sundae I decided to splurge and get a small order of chili-cheese fries. I can't eat fries what in the heck made me think I could eat chili-cheese fries. I haven't gotten sick, but I would almost pray to at this point, I feel almost stuck. Even 7 months out and almost 90lbs down to stray is human I guess. So Newbies don't feel bad! (and before anyone points out, I know I shouldn't have been there for the Sundae either, but I have to reward myself occasionally).
  17. It was pretty good. I had a bit of a problem with it for some reason even though it was moist. Hubby enjoyed it more than me
  18. We have a chicken in the rotisserie and it smells sooooooooo good. I can't wait for the bird to be done I'm sooo hungry just smelling it cooking.
  19. Yeah, personally I don't think I would do the non-adjustable band. The reasons we need fills is because we lose fat around our stomachs and the band gets loose.
  20. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. You'd figure if you drank the pill would break and it would be over. I've never had a problem with pills, I do cut the larger ones up with a pill cutter or try to buy liquid meds as much as possible, I find they typically begin to work quicker anyways. Hope ya get to feeling better soon!
  21. My doctor told us not to drink sodas, mainly because it could cause a lot of pain. I will admit that I DO drink them. I just don't gulp them, it takes me about 2-3 days to drink a 20oz bottle of soda. I have no problems as long as I go slow and burp as I go.
  22. Welcome to the forum!! Congrats on your weight loss!
  23. Most people don't experience much restriction with their first fill. My hubby has the larger band like you do and he is in the same boat. He needs another fill, but he is getting ready to leave for India for 3 weeks and wants to wait until he gets back. Best of luck to ya!
  24. Welcome to the forum!! Best of luck to you on your weight loss!
  25. Best of luck to you with your approval and welcome to the board!
